I keep hearing about some kind of massive revival coming soon, I see it on cc and I hear my friends talking about it and even at the church I visited wednesday.
For those who believe there is a coming revival of some kind what kind of revival are you expecting and what evidence do you have of this?

Any revival that matters starts with you.
Your prayers
your hope
your repentance

this is what creates any revival and God will take it from there.

Yes but I am hoping to understand what this great coming revival is that everyone is talking about it, I keep hearing people talk about this as if it's an expected event to happen soon and I am wanting to know exactly what kind of revival these people are expecting and what evidence they have for it happen preferably scripture as I have no patience from hearing about a prophet of some kind proclaiming this event

Itchy ears have you?
You won't see it
You won't know it
You won't recognize it
Unless you are part of it

And that brings us back to my first post

? I am not wanting to hear what I want to hear I am wanting to know what this revival I keep hearing about is and what evidence there is of it. I do not simply accept anything I hear as truth I seek to the truth our for myself and I do not simply take a persons word for it as if it's truth I need to find some kind of evidence specifically evidence that lines up with scripture.

I was brought to the Lord through the last "great" revival. (The Jesus Movement.) That was 45 years ago. Even then, people were talking about "a 'great' revival coming to this land." And most of those people went back to their usual lives unchanged over the long-haul.

Nothing has changed in 45 years.

No one can predict a revival. Either God revives or he doesn't. And he constantly revives, but for some reason most don't consider that "Revival."

If you examine the last few revivals that have happened, you'll notice something though -- most have been man-centered, not God-centered. It's been all about what God does for us, not what we do for God. And because of that, there are still people waiting in Brownsville for the next great personal experience. There are people still barking mad. And there are still people flocking to the great WoF "preachers" to get their personal fix.

Recommendation: Focus on God, not revival.

Really? So people bring new life, not God?

Yeah, like I said -- revival has come to mean what God gives us, not what we give God.

Howard Pittman claimed that in his experience with God that the Lord told him that just before the return of Christ that God was going to shake the world one last time and it would be more powerful then when the church first begin in the NT.

Bible talks of a falling away, not of a revival.

Thessalonians 2
2 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, [SUP]2 [/SUP]not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ[SUP][a][/SUP] had come. [SUP]3 [/SUP]Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin[SUP][b][/SUP] is revealed, the son of perdition,

No need to wait for a revival. Whilst its called TODAY....

[SUP]13 [/SUP]But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

[SUP]14 [/SUP]For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

[SUP]15 [/SUP]While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

Yes this scripture that can speak of a revival of sorts but this is an everyday prayer that we all ask in our hearts( at least I hope it is) My questions though are coming from a need to figure what revival these people are expecting and what evidence do they have of it? I keep asking people in church about it and I only get vague answers.

You see that is more like it, So that is the kind of revival people are expecting then.... No idea who Howard pittman is but I am guessing he is a self proclaimed prophet?

There has been a quiet pleasently spreading revival in my city for a number of
years.

Several new churches have sprung up in recent years, loads! Proper new ones, not just
replacements.

A large number of existing churches seem to be experiencing a new newness, dont
know what else to call it. Bulletin Boards which use to advertise jumble sales, now
advertise the times of services and display bible verses.

The local Council seem more favourable towards churches.
The benefits office, social services and other official departments now actively
divert needed people to church organisations and charities.

Revival comes in many forms, the slow burn steady type is probably more noteworthy
than a quick fizzle.

Curious, what is the Bible Belt and how does it differ from the Bible Sandal (lower
areas) or the Bible Hat (higher up areas of the US).
