Jesus performed mighty miracles like healing the sick, feeding thousands with very little food and raising the dead. Jesus claimed to be God and accepted worship from others. God the Father even said of Jesus " This is my beloved Son with whom I am well pleased" see Luke 3:21-22. If Jesus claimed to be God and accepted worship, but was not God then how could God say that he was pleased with Jesus? Even in the book of Daniel in the seventh chapter it speaks of a son of man who was lead into the presence of the Ancient of Days, given authority, glory, power and whom everyone in the world worshipped. God would not do this for a mere human being nor an angel. God said I will not give my glory to another, nor my praise to idols. See Isaiah 42:8.

To be honest I think it would be very hard to answer that question.

We can quote bible verses but to me Father, Son Holy Spirit being the triune God is extremely difficult to understand.

Please note those above who have posted bible verses, I am not disagreeing with you. We can't disagree on the truth of scripture.

If we as believers find it difficult to understand yet we accept it as truth how much harder is it for someone who is not a believer.

If I was asked that question I would say.

Jesus said he who has seen me has seen the Father and the Father and I are one. That is why Jesus is God.

Why is the Ball round?
That made me laugh.

I was at an Alpha Course sat next to a guy who we seeking God (his roots were Islam)
He is a very intellectual guy and was using intellect to understand God.

Anyway on this particular night it was about the love of God.
He turned to me and asked "Why would God love me"

I just said "Why not? Now he could he have come back with a plethora of reasons.

He just looked at me and he laughed and he said "I can't answer that wow God loves me"

To me it was like he suddenly realised what true Agape love is all about.

He came to Christ and was baptised a few weeks later.
Every time we meet I see the big smile on his face that he had when he realised that God loved him.

Sometimes maybe we have to answer the question with a question.

I believe that the “I am one” passage is actually referring to Jesus and the Father being “one” in purpose, not in being. For instance 1 Corinthians 3:5-8 reads…”Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.”

Both Paul and Apollos were said to be “one” but it was “one” in “purpose”. Both the Father and Christ had one purpose, and that was to save. No one can pluck them from their hands. I also just posted this verse in another forum but feel it pertains to this. 1 Corinthians 6:17 reads – “But anyone joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” We shouldn’t think that this oneness means that we are God now either.

Let's take first things first? I notice that some of the reply's your receiving are employing the logical fallacy of what is known as "circular reasoning?" That means the they are quoting the Bible to prove Jesus is God because the Bible tells us that Jesus is God.

This is similar to the Mormons (when they come visting) asking you to pray about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon because the Book of Mormon says to pray that it is true. So how do we avoid using "circular reasoning" as it pertains to the Bible so we can move forward proving Jesus Christ is God Almighty?

First of all it must be noted that the Bible is NOT one book but a collection of 66 books wtitten over a period of 1,500 years by 35 different authors all having an experience with the living God. So if I quote Moses or Malachi and I quote Jesus in the gospel of John where Jesus said Moses wrote of Him I am not using circular reasoning because of different time frames. Malachi said 400 years before the Apostle John that John the Baptist would prepare the way of the Lord, meaning Jesus Christ.

Starting out with these facts and knowing your Bible especially about fulfilled prophecies (which would be valid and proveable evidence) like say Isaiah 9:6 where the Messsiah is identified as God and in the New Testament Jesus was crucified for claiming to be God. Other authors like the Apostle Paul said Jesus was God and so did the Apostle Thomas at John 20:28 you have established a valid case via the evidence. You also have evidence from the enemies of Jesus Christ throughout the centuries who wrote about Him. Does that make sense to you deus? :eek:

If someone asked you "why is Jesus God?", What would you answer?
Jesus is God,for only God can save us,and nobody else.

God created Adam in His image,an innocent nature in flesh,but Adam fell out of that image,and nobody was in the image of God until Jesus came,conceived of the Holy Spirit,an innocent nature in flesh.

The only way for mankind to be reconciled back to God is for there to be a sinless man that can represent the human race,and be the mediator between God and people,which there is one God,and one mediator between God and men,the man Christ Jesus,to wit that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself,which He did in the person of Jesus Christ,God and man in harmony,and all who accept the truth will be in harmony with God by His Spirit.

God said He looked upon the children of men to see if there was any that did good,and could represent mankind,but there was not,so God said He will be that innocent man,and manifest Himself in flesh,and became that sinless man to represent mankind,and said He would reveal His new name to the Jews,and speak to them,which God spoke unto us in these last days by His Son,which Jesus said to Philip,if you have seen Me,you have seen the Father,for the words that I speak are not of My own,but the Father that dwells in Me,He does the works,and said,I am come in My Father's name,and the Son inherited the name from the Father.

The Bible says that God laid down His life for us,and purchased the Church with His own blood.

When the Bible says Jesus is God manifest in the flesh,it means that God manifest all His attributes to the man Christ Jesus,which He is the fulness of the Godhead bodily,it pleased the Father that in Him all fulness should dwell,and He has the Spirit without measure,and the Spirit in Christ is still connected to the omnipresent Spirit of God,for God cannot be separated.

The man Christ Jesus is the personal human body of God,and there is one throne in heaven,and one who sits on that throne,which is the throne of God and the Lamb,God in the glorified body of the man Christ Jesus,and God's visible relationship to the saints for eternity.

God's right hand represents power,wisdom,and salvation.

Jesus said all power is given unto Me in heaven and earth.

The man Christ Jesus is our mediator.

David said,the LORD said unto my Lord,sit on My right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.

The Son must reign until all His enemies are conquered,the last one being death,and then the Son shall be subject unto the Father,that God may be all in all.

Jesus at the right hand of God means that He exalted the man Christ Jesus to exercise the throne of power,until His enemies are conquered,and then the Son shall cease being at the right hand of God,cease exercising the throne of power,and be subject unto the Father,so God may be all in all.

Jesus is God manifest in the flesh,and God is ruling through the man Christ Jesus for the sake of the saints.

The only one we will see in heaven is Jesus,the only visible relationship of God to the saints,and if you have seen Jesus,you have seen the Father.

Jesus is God,for only God can reconcile mankind to Himself,for there is no sinless man to do it.

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Isa 35:4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
Isa 35:5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
Isa 35:6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

Isa 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

Isa 59:1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
Isa 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Isa 59:3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
Isa 59:4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
sa 59:12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;
Isa 59:13 In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
Isa 59:14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
Isa 59:15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.
Isa 59:16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
Isa 59:17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.
Isa 59:18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.

1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

1Ti 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

1Jn 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Act 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

1Ti 6:14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
1Ti 6:15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
1Ti 6:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace,
On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.

The Holy Spirit has testified to all who believe and have received the gift of faith that Jesus Christ is God.

Although it is written in numrous ways in the Old and New Testament that Jesus christ is God Almighty, the Everlasting Father, the Ruler of Peace, the Comforter, Counselor, and more it has one geat flaw fro readers.

That flaw is, if you are not learning of the Holy Spirit you are reading text that kills. Only by the Holy Spirit can any learn what is the living message of the Word.
