John 1:17 "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."

Luke 16:16 "The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it."

Matthew 4:23 "And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people."

the law of moses....Levitucus 20:10 "And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. "

the gospe...l John 8:They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?<<< correct according to the law of moses ( though the man should have been there as well)
john 8:7-11 "So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."

the Law of moses...deuteronomy 24:1 "When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house."

the gospel.....matthew 5:32 "But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery."

the law of moses deuteronomy 19:21 "And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot."

the gospel ....matthew 5:38-39 "Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also."

just a very small example, the law of moses is all the same way when compared to the gospel. Jesus did not teach the Law of moses, But the gospel of the Kingdom of God. its easy to get wrapped up in trying to explain how Jesus was re teaching the Law or try to link the Law of moses, to the gospel, but when you study what Moses wrote in the book, and what Jesus spoke in the Gospel they are 2 different things.

so when you say " we have died to the Law of moses" its not meant to see it as Jesus words arent the gospel, or they dont apply because they are the Law we died to. Jesus was teaching a new thing that God had been foretelling all along. he fulfilled the Old, and gave the new. He fulfilled the law in ways Like the law says " to transfer the sins of the people onto a scapegoat, then release it into the desert" Jesus is the scapegoat on whoich was transfered our sins. the Law says take the spotless atoning animal sacrifice, shed its blood and the blood will be an atonement for the people", Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for the people.

The Law teaches the duties of the High priest of atonement, Jesus is the High priest. Jesus fulfilled the directives in the Law of moses, the law is for us now to understand that Jesus is all of the things like that, the scapegoat, the atoning sacrifice, the high priest, the mediator of the eternal covenant, where as moses was the mediator through angels in the first. to know the gospel and believe the gospel, and follow the gospel is christianity, to follow the Law of moses, is judaism. they arent the same thing, one led isreal to Christ, through thier rejection of Gods covenant with them, the law of moses is still very useful to us, to teach us about Jesus and what He did to fulfill it.

i would challenge any who love bible study to study the directives of Jesus, and compare them to the directives of Moses, and find that Moses Gave the Law, Jesus the gospel and they are rather contrary. in fact if we adhere to the mosaic Law, its impossible to keep the Gospel because it is so opposite. we could divide certain things from the mosaic Law and make them fit, but thats not what were taught to do, we are taught to die to the Law, and Live the gospel. the ten commandments are referenced in the Law, and the gospel, they are the Law of God and a perfect moral compass. they are not outdone, or made of less value or authority, but the book of the mosaic Law, we have been released from.

and thank God we have because in the Law, repentance wasnt an option for many sinners, but immediate death sentance was commanded by Moses for sins worthy of death such as cursing your parent, commiting adultery, listening to a false prophet, and so many , MANY more things. once you sinned under the Law, you were done, yet the gospel is sent to call sinners who have sinned to repentance. to understand what " the Law" is, a distinction has to be made between the Law of God, the law of moses, the Law of Christ, the law of sin within our members, the perfect law that gives freedom...on and on.

the book of the Law of moses is what we are not under, because a sinner was killed, without mercy, Jesus came to call those who would be killed under the Law, to repentance through His gospel, and then DIED to become the sacrifice that paid the price for those He is calling to repentance.

I could say " the truth is that the 4 gospels are The new covenant" but not many will accept that so to me its hard to make and support a point without long post that clearly show the difference between the law of moses, and the gospel. its importance is so that a false teaching doesnt convince us that the 4 gospels arent for us, or just the cross applies.... through elaborate circular explainations. because if we do not accept the Teachings of Jesus, there is no life in the gospel, and if we believe we need to adhere to the mosaic Law, there is condemnation after a person sins once. they truly are 2 different things as different as Life and death.

I hope you are able to consider the difference and do your own study between the mosaic Law found in the four books of the mosaic Law exodus, levitucus, dueteronomy and numbers mediated by Moses. and the Four gospels matthew , mark, luke and John, Mediated By Jesus Christ and realize they are not the same, in order to not fall for someone explaining why Jesus words arent for you. God bless you if you made it this far through this post lol ;) some things cant be said in a sentance, sorry for the length, but its what it is.

maybe this will help find value above

atonement money

exodus 30:12 "When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a RANSOM FOR HIS SOUL unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest them."

Matthew 20:28 "Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give HIS LIFE A RANSOM FOR MANY."

pattern of burnt offerings

leviticus 1 ..."And if his offering be of the flocks, namely, of the SHEEP, or of the goats, for a BURNT SACRIFICE; he shall bring it A MALE WITHOUT BLEMISH. 11And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall SPRINKLE HIS BLOOD round about upon the altar. .....v 13But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring it all, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an OFFERING made by fire, of a SWEET SAVOUR UNTO THE LORD."

Jesus "burnt offering "

ephesians 5:1-2 "Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an OFFERING and A SACRIFICE TO GOD for a SWEET SMELLING SAVOUR."

hebrews 12:24 "and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the SPRINKLED BLOOD, which speaks better than the blood of Abel."

pattern of the anointing oil for the high priest

exodus 30:25 "Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred anointing oil." (niv) kjv " after the art of apothicary ( perfumers art)
v30 "And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the PRIESTS office. "

Jesus annointed in the gospel mark 14:3 "And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head. "
Mark 14:8 "She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying."

the altar of incense
exodus 30:3 "And thou shalt overlay it with PURE GOLD, the top thereof, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns thereof; and thou shalt make unto it a crown of gold round about.

the incense of the altar
exodus 30:34 "and the LORD said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum; these sweet spices with PURE FRANKINCENSE: ...

the oil of anointing
EXODUS 30:23 "Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of PURE MYRRH five hundred shekels,...."

the gifts given to Jesus at His birth

matthew 2:11 "On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of GOLD, FRANKINCENSE, and MYRRH.<<<< the gold of the altar and 2 main ingredients regarding the incense and anointing oil

atonement sacrifices
sin offering
Leviticus 16:15 "Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat"

romans 3:25 "God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood--to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished.."

scapegoat
leviticus 16:22 "And the goat shall BEAR UPON HIM ALL THIER INIQUITIES unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness."

1 peter 2:24 "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree...." see isaiah 53:11 " for he shall bear thier iniquities"

day of atonement
leviticus 16:30 "For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD. "

this really goes on and on Jesus fulfilled the Law in these ways, and all of the Law, was a foretelling or pattern, pointing to what Jesus would do and be for us. these are only a few examples there is SOOOO much more that show the fulfilling of the mosaic Laws pattern, and its value is great for understanding the things in the gospel, and how very Much Jesus means

hebrews is a great start studying it with the 4 "law" books of moses it is a wealth of eye opening understanding in the term " Jesus fulfilled the Law.

"The Resurrection, and its consequences were the "gospel" or good news which the Christian brought: what we call the 'gospels,' the narratives of our Lord's life and death, were composed later for the benefit of those who had already accepted the gospel. They were in no sense the basis of Christianity: they were written for those already converted.

The miracle of the Resurrection, and the theology of that miracle, comes first: the biography comes later as a comment on it. Nothing could be more unhistorical than to pick out selected sayings of Christ from the gospels and to regard those as the datum and the rest of the New Testament as a construction upon it."

Absolutely marvellous posts followjesus !!!
im glad you find some value in them, really helped me understand the term " Jesus fulfilled the Law" <<speaking of the mosaic laws of sacrifice, preisthood ordinances, understand the sacrifices and so on, its a great study to take up and helped open me up to the views i have pertaining to the fact that the Bible is really a testimony about Jesus :) then once i saw things like this in the law....

deuteronomy 18:15-19 "The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; 16According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. 17And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. 18I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. "

and Jesus saying this so many times in the gospel.

john 12:28-50 "He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak."

and peter and others refer to this

acts 3:20-26 "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. 22For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. 24Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. 25Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. 26Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities."

things really got much more simple through the understanding that its all about Jesus . I hope some will take on the study, that this indicates a good start, because it truly has helped so much of the word fall into place

God bles and Keep you in the Lords will and armor !!

Grace is certainly a part of the gospel, no question, but the truth is that God is Just, Has never changed, grace is meant to change believers.

I agree that the truth is the truth.

john 17:13-14 "And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14I have given them thy word; ......" v17 "Sanctify them through thy TRUTH: THY WORD IS TRUTH"

JOHN 8:31-32 ".
Then said Jesus to those Jews which BELIEVED ON HIM, If ye continue in MY WORD, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32And ye shall KNOW THE TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall make you FREE."

john 7:16-17 "Jesus answered them, and said, MY DOCTRINE is not mine, but HIS THAT SENT ME . 17If any man will do his will, he shall know of THE DOCTRINE whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself."

seems like Jesus was making His teachings pretty important in regards to the truth :) and well the Light, freedom from sin, spirit and Life

john6:63 "
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: THE WORDS THAT I SPEAK unto you, they ARE SPIRIT, and they ARE LIFE."

which is why, I choose to go ahead and stick to J.C. s word rather than c.s. 's word. but i do agree when we deny truth, it leaves us in bondage to a lie, just to make clear, Jesus wasnt lying or confused tho

"The law is judgment without mercy"

john 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."

the law was given by moses...

deuteronomy 19:21 "And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot."

leviticus 20:10 "
If a man commits adultery with a married woman--if he commits adultery with his neighbor's wife--both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death. "

Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ...

john 8: 4-11 "
They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?.........So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. Justice isnt neglected, its perfected by Mercy.

john 14:6 "JESUS SAITH unto him, I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE: NO MAN cometh unto the Father, but BY ME".

acts 4:12 "Neither is there salvation in ANY OTHER: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

1 timothy 6:3-5 "If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the WORDS OF our Lord JESUS Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; 4He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 5Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself."

Right. Jesus is God.

John 20:31 "But these are written that YOU MAY BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS THE CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD, and that by believing you may have life in HIS name."
John 3:17-18”For God did not send HIS SON into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of GODS ONE AND ONLY SON.”

Romans 1:2-4 "the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding HIS SON, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, and who THROUGH THE SPIRIT OF HOLINESS was declared THE SON OF GOD with power by his resurrection from the dead: JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD."

john 11:4 "When he heard this, JESUS SAID, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that GOD'S SON may be glorified through it."

JOHN 11:41-42 "So they took away the stone. Then JESUS LOOKED UP AND SAID , “Father, I thank YOU that YOU HAVE HEARD ME. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may BELIEVE THAT YOU SENT ME."

john 11:27 "“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the CHRIST, the SON OF GOD, who is to come into the world.”

John 12:23 "Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the SON OF MAN to be glorified. "

john 12:26 "Whoever serves me must follow me; and WHERE I AM, MY SERVANT WILL ALSO BE. MY FATHER WILL HONOR THE ONE WHO SERVES ME."

john 12:49-50 “ For I did not speak ON MY OWN, but THE FATHER WHO SENT ME COMMANDED ME to say all that I have spoken. I know that HIS COMMAND leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is JUST WHAT THE FATHER TOLD ME TO SAY.”

john 20:17 “Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to MY BROTHERS and tell them, 'I am ascending to MY FATHER and YOUR FATHER, to MY GOD AND YOUR GOD .'’

john 17:1-5 “After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:
“Father, the hour has come. Glorify YOUR SON, that YOUR SON MAY GLORIFY YOU . For YOU GRANTED HIM AUTHORITY OVER ALL PEOPLE that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3Now this is eternal life: that they know YOU THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and JESUS CHRIST WHOM YOU HAVE SENT ( John 3:16-18) I have brought YOU GLORY on earth by finishing the work YOU GAVE ME TO DO. And now, Father, GLORIFY ME in YOUR PRESENCE withTHE GLORY I HAD WITH YOU before the world began.”

john 15:9-11 ““As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you KEEP MY COMMANDS, you will remain in my love, JUST AS I HAVE KEPT MY FATHERS COMMANDS and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete”

john 14:1 ““Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in Goda ; believe ALSO IN ME”

John 10:17-18 “The REASON MY FATHER LOVES ME is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have AUTHORITY to lay it down and AUTHORITY to take it up again. THIS COMMAND I RECEIVED from my Father.”

1 john 5:1-5 "Everyone who believes that JESUS IS THE CHRIST is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who BELIEVES THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD."

It is your unwillingness to let go of the lie that you base your beliefs on that is the cause of your confusion about the nature of Jesus Christ.

1 john 5:9-12 "If we receive the witness of men, the WITNES OF GOD is greater: FOR THIS IS THE WITNESS OF GOD which he hath TESTIFIED OF HIS SON. 10He that believeth on THE SON OF GOD hath THE WITNESS in himself: he that believeth NOT God hath made him a liar; BECAUSE HE BELIEVETH NOT THE RECORD GOD GAVE OF HIS SON. 11And THIS IS THE RECORD, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is IN HIS SON. 12He that hath THE SON hath life; and he that hath not the SON OF GOD hath not life."

john 20:17 "Jesus said to her, "Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to MY BRETHREN and say to them, 'I ascend to MY FATHER and YOUR FATHER, and MY GOD and YOUR GOD.'"

Grace is certainly a part of the gospel, no question, but the truth is that God is Just, Has never changed, grace is meant to change believers.
GOD's GRACE is buying us time to change....because punishment will come on those who do not ! All will eventually reap what they have sown. God is indeed just !
