It says so in the Bible. Titus 2.

(Actually, I just wrote this because I'm tired of men telling women what we should and shouldn't do, as if they have authority over all women, and I just wanted to see how many would get into a Royal Rumble over this. lol)

So Christians should be silent and never criticize what the worldly culture pushes into churches? :)

No it doesn't. There is no mention of who teaches Children at all. It advises Older women to teach younger ones to be sober to love their husbands and love their Children. Titus 2:3-4

perhaps

depends on if you got a bean... or a spec ... or a log... or a scale in your eye

we wouldnt wanna be hypocrits hahaha

jp

i got into an arguement with my only friend in real life who reads the bible (older bro)

to me
and him

Disney is clearly super evil and disgusting and unfit for children

but i was speaking against it

he says well if i still play a phone game even once a month
that makes me a hypocrit

then i say well judging a work of darkness is different that judging a brother or sister
then he says

the implication to those who disagree is judgement

lol we ended up getting heated
then it died down
then we both just agreed we need to love God and let him work in us so we can see clearly to help others

No, men should stop assuming they are my authority.

This really is to see how many will go off on the concept that some chick dare tell them what to do. And it is humor. But honestly, you should see how often men come here to tell women what we must and mustn't do. (I wear pants too. lol) I have Biblical authority over me. My husband is my mantle. When we were members of a church, the pastor was our mantle. And God is the all-covering mantle over all of us. And yet, many Christian guys think they have authority over me. They think they can tell me what I should do without even finding out if I was or wasn't already doing that

And as far as worldly views coming into a church? If you don't like the worldly view in your church, either change it or get out. Don't use that as an excuse to tell everyone what we should and shouldn't be doing. Because, I can guarantee "the world culture" cannot push their views into the church.

They're trying in the US. They're trying to force churches into having homosexual marriage given in that church, and it's not working, nor will it ever, unless that church already was worldly.

They're trying to force churches into having homosexual marriage given in that church
in The Great Commission, Jesus said nothing about officiating any kind of marriage so all a church needs to do in order to prevent being legally forced into performing funny marriages is to simply... not do marriage events at all in their building or on their property.

That way they cannot legally sue the church for that is it's not in their charter to perform any type of marriage.

Members can hire the pastor to do their wedding off site somewhere, otherwise the church property can be lost to a lawsuit to pay for judgement.

Like it or not... we are not going to change the world back how it was before all this funny business got started... and courts will increasingly side with the funny peoples

Lynn,
Is it okay for men to sit in and learn in Sunday School?

The pop up picture books really help me out...cause ya know, I'm a man...and we're really slow at learning these types of things. :(

I have you know I stopped teaching sunday school this year but only because I was moving to another city, so I didn't sign up for anything at the local assembly except singing in the music team and leading worship lol. I did preach once. Oops. :)

With all due respect I would offer.

Women do not fight fair(lol) cut those nails.

God is not a man as us. Christ is the invisible head represented by the temporal, man seen in respect to the hidden glory of God not seen …He should not cover his head as the reflective glory. Man doing his part of teaching should not being silent, as if Christ spoke.

Woman as the representative glory of man is not left with out a representative glory, Her hair, as a reflective glory she must cover it or shave it of to indicate shame. She would represent the whole body of Christ as that seen (male and female Jew, and gentile)as the bride, she should be silent. The only glory that should be is the invisible glory the one we walk by faith and not by sight

Both working together in harmony with one another is a sign to the angels not subject to salvation well as the world who are subject, a picture or parable of Christ and his bride the church. In that way as a outward witness, Women have the greater position to remain silent and cover their hair when two or more families gather together to perform that ceremonial law that as a shadow points to the wedding supper in the new heavens and earth where the marriage will be consummated as we receive our new incorruptible bodies. Together we stand divided we fall. Not either takes the whole responsibility for the fall. If one does the part and the other not, there will be no reflective glory. Men love your wives as Christ loved the church (he denied himself) the woman are responding to the reflective love. I think it is especially needed today for men to work at taking the loving lead that represent Christ unseen.

The confusion of the sexes today is a indication men are not representing Christ, the woman follow. At the rise and fall of any nation, confusion of the sexes is the lead. When men of the gold medal marathon become the women of the year... men should know we are in deep trouble. It’s what many do... not learn about history and why it repeats itself over and over (God does not change)

If God commands a woman to be silent when multiple families assemble, why would they desire to disobey the loving commandment?

I found the title to be pretty funny I didn't even have to read why lynn made it to know the reason why. I think the whole woman shall not have authority over man thing is being a bit too abused. It's getting to the point I suspect some people here seem to think they are more important than woman spiritually. Many who are pastors or preachers or teachers that are men are not fit to be doing it, but say that a woman is a pastor and actually does what pastors are called to do she is discounted because of her sex.

There are so many false teachers and false preachers these days most of them are in fact men who were given a calling to lead and teach and preach to his sheep but many have failed to do so, and the thing is Jesus also opposed what others thought the scriptures meant and was called the worst things. I know the scriptures say women shall not have authority over man but even so I still stand on the fact God will call those who he chooses. If a man will not do what they are called to do in leading his flock then I have no doubt he will use a woman instead

When we were in a small church, a few years back, there was no one to teach Children's Church (There was no Sunday School). I was the music pastor, and every Sunday I played or sang in both our two worship teams. I am trained as a teacher, but I just couldn't do both at once.

So my husband got guilted into teaching - grades 1-3, I think. He came home grumbling and complaining the kids weren't listening, they were fighting, etc etc. These were little kids, not hard to manage.

So, one service, during the sermon, I slipped down to the Sunday School room, and there were all the kids, totally off task. As in breaking things, and causing a riot. And there was my poor husband, reading his lesson, looking down at the paper. He is not even a good reader!

So, I took over - moved two boys who were engaged in a physical war with each other. Did some other physical things. I told the kids to settle down, looking them in the eye, and they did. Then I enacted the story with them taking parts. (Fortunately, I had helped him prepare the lesson, besides knowing the Bible story!)

The kids were all rapt and engaged. I left him supervising a craft at the end, because I had to lead the closing hymn. Apparently, the kids got wild again. Sigh!

Now, my husband is a kind, gentle, decent, honest man, who loves God will all his heart. He has a huge gift of giving, not just money, but his time. He is a valued member of our building team, helping with renovations and anything else that needs to be done. Because, giving, helping are his gifts.

Teaching is one of my gifts - I also had a father who was a teacher, and was constantly teaching. Then I took teacher training, and learned how to teach small children, as well as teaching for many years. So I am gifted, experienced and trained in teaching.

So, who was the one who should have been teaching. The man or the woman? Well, I couldn't, but if it wasn't for the worship ministry, I was the person who should have been teaching. Why? So the kids learned something, which they would not have had he continued. Now, a man who was trained as a teacher, or had the gift of teaching? Well, that would have been great. Sadly, there were no men in that church who wanted to try. I have to give my husband that - at least he tried.

Shhh, men might get the idea we have no problems with them teaching kids too. (We don't, but, hey! You know?) lol
