Hi Samuel; I know people change the word of God because they do not like what it says. And it is up to us to point out if/when this happens. The example you used is not really illustrative because God never told us what color suit we should wear when we go to church. Could you give a specific example of a person who has changed the Word of God?
... nor do I know of any church which indicates what color suit we should wear when we go to church ...

Sometimes what we call "challenging the word of God" is really us just being challenged with "our and our group's" interpretation on a subject.

If it doesn't agree with what "I and my group" says it is saying - then you are challenging the word of God.

This is something I see Christians do all the time and I really do not understand it. It is like, God said through His word, that all men must wear a black suit during church on Sunday. Well, I don't have a black suit, and it would cost me a lot to get one, so I attack the word of God until I have convinced myself and many others that God really meant that I could wear a gray suit. So now I wear my gray suit to church on Sunday and viciously attack anyone who suggests that God said to wear a black suit. So, I have won, right, I got what I wanted. Yes but only in this life, one day I will have to stand before God and explain why I rejected His clear command. I wonder, where is the fear of God? If a person REALLY believes that the bible is the word of God they would not even have the desire to try to change it. This seems to be a huge ego problem, some folks actually think they can out smart God, they are going to make God, by virtue of their great intellect, conform to their wishes.
I remember Mormons doing that to me.
