what is my opinion? i think soul sleep is false because of the examples i gave above there is no way all the disciples were just hallucinating elijah and moses i think they were really there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course soul sleep is false, but it is still promoted by the cults and those who prefer lies to the truth. There is ample evidence in the Bible that "sleep" is merely a metaphor for the appearance of the dead body in the grave. When buried, a dead person appears to be asleep, so "sleep" refers to the body resting in the grave.

However the souls and spirits of the saints now go directly to Heaven [whereas before Christ's resurrection they went to Sheol/Hades to remain separated from the unsaved (also in Sheol/Hades)]. Now, the unsaved still go th Hades to await their final judgment. But they are in conscious torment.

The concept of Purgatory is a mere fiction, and should be ignored.

it is the body that sleeps not the soul, the soul has consciousness after death. Matt 22v32, 27v52, 2Cor 5v6,7
