I remember Satan needing God's permission to plague on Job.

I vaguely remember God inflicting someone with leprosy until that person repented of whatever happened before that.

In my mind, this is kind of like asking, "Did God give rain?" To believers in a flood, the first thought is No. To believers in a drought, and then the rain comes, the answer is Definitely.

To me? God is sovereign as in he is in complete control. And "And we know, that all things work for good for them who love God, to them who are called according his purposes."

That's my "other."

My other is that sickness comes from being in this corrupt world ( which does come from satan's deception ) as well as from satan himself as Jesus said as well as from sinning.

Acts 10:38 (NASB)
[SUP]38 [/SUP] "You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Luke 13:16 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] "And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?"

Sinning also brings sickness too. This guy that Jesus healed was in this condition for a long time. - verse 13

John 5:14 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Afterward Jesus *found him in the temple and said to him, "Behold, you have become well; do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse happens to you."

Sickness is the foul offspring of sin which originated from satan. It's his child and a product of his influence - NOT God's.

God has caused illness in certain individuals but mostly He allows it, for reasons it may seen at the time, unknown, only the eventually it will glorify His name.

Other because the fall of mankind brought death. Death affects us many ways and has even affected our world. So diseases come from many directions.

However, never from God.

I have a friend on facebook who is a minister. He is another Denadii in his faith. Had cancer a few years ago, both prostate and in his stomach, a large tumor. He didn't have any medical interventions other than initial diagnosis. It's well documented medically, he stood in his faith and received total healing. There are even pictures of him with the stomach tumor, and gone now today.

Plus, another friend on facebook who prays for people on a regular basis. Many healings occur. She prays in chat...and has prayed for me. So has the other minister.

I know them...I know what God has done for me. I just got a lab report Monday and all labs are now normal. I can give anyone a copy.

First time in years! God heals!

I believe our lifestyles (what we do, what we eat, etc.) can cause us to become sick, and obeying the Lord can cause us to have healthy lifestyles.

I think sickness can come from many things: Satan, sin, unhealthy life style, stress, anxiety, and even God for His purposes.

Speaking from personal experience, when I was diagnosed with cancer I could not believe it. I had given my life into the hands of God, was teaching two bible classes a week, giving thanks daily for my good health, believed that His anointing and life within me was keeping me from many diseases. I had no stress or worries. I lived in the bible and in fellowship with Christ daily. I was not convicted of any particular sin and knew that my righteousness was only a free gift from His grace. I moved in the gift of healing and prayed much for others who were sick.

So, at first I felt betrayed in a way. What was this? But in prayer one day the Lord spoke to my spirit and asked if I would go through this with Him - that it would all lead to His glory and my spiritual growth in ways I could not see then. I knew then that He had allowed this to happen to me. And, yes, He has shown His hand in miraculous ways and caused me to be a miracle by the way in which I have handled all the complications of the removal of half of my mouth and 37 radiation treatments on the glands in my neck which were cancerous also. I have experienced so much more of the Lord's comfort and presence to me than in the past.

God does allow and even might bring about a person's illness for His own purposes. We can never know for sure the why of any disease and the cause, but it helps to talk to the Lord about it and then listen for His response to your spirit. I do believe that if we have surrendered our lives into His keeping, then we must believe that EVERYTHING that comes to us is from His hand.

God created Lucifer an angel. I don't see where he created the devil.

1 Corinthians 11
27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Could you expound?

What a beautifully spiritually mature saint right here! Thank you Joidevivre!

I am glad someone here understands that God will use, even sickness, on his saints to accomplish his glory.

I know you probably already see this but wanted to share it anyway. The enemy came after your mouth and could not and will not prevail.

Those who have taken the Lord's supper in an unworthy manner became weak, sick and some even died. Why? They were being chastened of the Lord. Paul's word of advice is to examine oneself before partaking in the Lord's supper. I was posting this to show the possibility of the Lord chastening His children through sickness.

I believe the reason Christians are not healed or those they pray for is because healing is not taught in our churches so most Christians do not believe in healing in the atonement. Jehovah Rapha is The Lord who heals you. But if we don't know this., we can't access this truth in our hearts and minds and God won't force us to access it.

Unlearning deeply entrenched teaching is the biggest obstacle to healing imo. Most of us will not be able to put aside our old ways of living the Christian life for His new and living way. Only and unless we are willing to change our minds about God and His ways. . And because healing is all through the Bible and because Jesus healed all who came to Him for healing and because the Bible says if we have seen Jesus we have seen the Father.... It's all there for us to see plainly but because of our entrenched church teachings we will not take in that healing has already been provided for each of the redeemed of the Lord.

We are supposed to look at the Healer and His ability and availability not our worthiness or our fancy prayers or our ability. We get healing the same way we get anything we get from God.... by grace (we don't deserve it but Jesus gave it freely and we believe that through faith. Jesus did it ALL. Acknowledging Him in all things will access
that straight path to all kinds of healing. It's always been and always will be because of Jesus.

Freely you have received , .. freely give. How many of us believe we have freely been given? How many believe we are no longer under the curse? How many of us live out that truth of no longer being under the curse and that Jesus became a curse for us. How many of us have seriously grasped this? And begun walking in it?

IMO,It wasn't a chastening but a warning of the consequence of doing something that wasn't HIS way.

GOD told adam and eve what would happen In the garden If they weren't obedient to HIS WORD.Its not that GOD wanted them to sin but disobedience to HIS WORD has consequence and GOD was letting them know what would happen.

We live in a sick, fallen world. Even when we aren't visibly sick, our bodies are still dying.

This is do to man's sin, NOT God.
