How does God feel when his children sin? Does he get mad at them, disappointed or get sad? What do you think?

Hi CherieR, so nice to meet you...

I am sure he gets sad if its occasional because the wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23) but he never gives up on us always calling us back to Him, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2Pet 2:9)

God is always calling us back home...

"Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?"" (
Eze 18:31)

"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous." (1Jo 2:1)

"If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1John 1:9)

God bless you

Romans 4:5-8 And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,6 just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: 7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; 8 blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin."
Now of your first thought when you see that the Lord does not count your sins against you and think I can sin all I want and He will not count it against me, that means you are not one of His children.

God love us so much that He chastens us, forgives and helps us overcome the sins.

Honestly at least for me I probably feel a lot worse about it when I sin than he does. I have an unhealthy habit of being very harsh on myself

Good verses. That is not my first thought.

We grieve the Holy Spirit and if left unchecked he will chasten every son/daughter whom he receives......you have a few here who will push a dogmatic sinless farce in believers, but the bible is clear...John who was an apostle and wrote 5 books of the N.T. said...

IF WE say that WE have NO SIN, WE are deceived and the truth is not in US....<--present tense.....

Watch how many will say this means I promote a lifestyle of sin, or that I live in sin.............

Our sin grieves the Holy Spirit.

Epehsians 4:25-32
Therefore, laying aside falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. BE angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity. He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need. Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

And Jesus grieves over Jerusalem.

Matthew 23:37-39

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling. Behold, your house is being left to you desolate! For I say to you, from now on you will not see Me until you say, ‘Blessed is HE who comes in the name of the Lord!’”

Ok..I'll try it...:)...you are a lover of sinning and a hater of the word of God, you are delusional, a hater of those who walk righteously and a sign of the last days apostasy that say it's ok to sin all you want now because of the grace of God and that your sins are forgiven.

( My very nature that is the life of Christ in me "recoils" from the inside of me just to say those words even though it is done in jest. )

It grieves the Holy spirit when a person does sin, but at the same time there is rejoicing when they repent and turn back
to the righteousness of God... God is more interested in a person being right with Him rather than errors they might have made/make on the way... The parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the prodigal son are key examples of how God feels when a person is lost in sin, but comes back to Him again.

Me to my friend. I have to remind myself how much I love my kids and still love them when they mess up. And almost spontaneously forgive them.

All sin is evil but has different effects and reasons.
God holds sin in judgement, but faith covers it. Often when we sin we do not see the evil but
enjoy the action. It is this change of attitude which is the beginning of losing faith.

When Peter fell into denial Jesus's answer was two fold.

Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.
Luke 22:31-32

Jesus knew the impetious nature of Peter would lead him to boast something his heart
could not yet deliver.

When Peter returned in repentance to the Lord the Lord asked Him to affirm his love.

The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep."
John 21:17

Sin is always a betrayal of the love we have for God and righteousness and those we
hurt around us.

And in repentance we will feel hurt. We need to know this hurt.

So God follows the nature of love

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 cor 13:7

Sin often appears when we push things too far, get proud, go outside the boundaries
that have been set, do not wait and dwell in Him.

In the cross there is always forgiveness, and through failure we often find transformation.

So God loves us despite our sin, and desires we come to see what evil is and what walking
in His ways means. The cross is a place of pain and sacrifice, but also healing and reconciliation.
Getting to walk in this light and the eternal nature of victory is hard.

Amen Sis, that shows where you are in your walk. When ever I hear someone say that eternal security or perseverance of the saints teaches that you can live however you want. I agree with them, because if you want to live in sin you do not love God and are not born of Him. One thing about grace is that it is a beautiful doctrine that reveals the heart. If you are inclined to sin, it shows that your heart is full of sin, if you worship God for His wonderful grace it shows that you've been set free from sin and born of God.

Temptation can be very powerful. The Lord doesn't like it when we sin but he understands the circumstances. What might make him angrier is when people willfully sin - that is, sin even when the temptation isn't strong to sin.

Rev 2:20‘But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21I gave her time to repent, and she does not want to repent of her immorality.

God is longsuffering towards us, not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance.
:)

**notice also God gave her time to repent of her leading others into immorality, but not for being a teacher to the church.** ;)
