I don't think the devil can read anyone's mind, all he can do is have his fallen angels study you and whisper thoughts into the minds of others around you as well as your mind and make you think that they are really your thoughts.
The mind (or soul) will be filled if you keep it full of good things, the bad things have no room to enter, but if you don't fill it the devil will be glad to help.

I wish I could remeber the scripture on this, but the other posters are right. Saten cannot read your mind. Only God Our Father knows the mind of man.
But saten will try to make you think he can.
The wonderful thing is with God all is known and you can freely speak to him in mind and know all is safe with Him.

hmmmm...I for one think spiritual beings are very aware of every lil nuance....
that being ..satan..a.ka..and other names..as well as his..."angels..."
as well.as ...other angels..and spiritual beings...
I say YES..satan can read minds...
do you have something...that you don't want satan to know...
cause he knows..and so do other ANGELS...
he was only one of the arch angels....there was also..gabriel...raphael.....and michael....,,(maybe more...but I was taught 4...although I realize the old aramic ..??...had other arch angels listed....??.)
now..I was taught the archangels..were spiritual..and did not have "sexes"....though the old Jewish boks...(some)..say...there were female archangels as well..
????..so...what is correct?...
I say angels can relate to both sexes in a spiritual way...
also in a sexual way.....(dark angels....who live for sex..and other corruptions)

Since mankind now has machines that enable them to read minds, I am increasingly led to believe that satan can also. I don't think the Bible gives an answer either way.

I believe like the majority here. Satan cannot read minds. We are born with a sinful nature. Satan went to God to consult about Job because he observed Job. I don't believe he read Job's mind. Satan cannot be all-knowing, ever-present or all-powerful, but he is the father of lies. Something he's darn good at. Plus he has a multitude of 'helpers' here on earth who he is using to bring down the saints. So giantone, you get my vote

i don't believe that Satan can read our thoughts. however as a human race we are very predictable. We are by our very nature sinful, and want to do what is wrong rather than what is right. This is a constant battle between the desires of the flesh,and the Spirit. (Galatians 5:16-18). When we grow stronger and we follow what we are commanded to do which is love God with "ALL" our mind(matt22:37, Mark 12:30, and Luke 10:27). Then we can be renewed by the Spirit(Rom 12:2).
It's like one of my favorite songs Garbage in Garbage out by Tal and Acacia. If we put garbage in our hearts and minds that is what we will spew out for everyone to see. When we set ourselves in the other direction to God and fill our lives with HIM then we gain the power over Satan to refuse satan's temptations and personally satan is good at predicting my behavior.

interesting question...i believe he uses visual aids (media, music, internet, etc; in the garden it was the fruit) because that is his most powerful tool, also, if you tell him to 'flee' in the name of Jesus, you have to say it out loud because he cannot hear your thoughts. this is why we are to set our minds on 'heavenly things' not 'earthly things'.

Romans 8 v 5 Those who live according to their sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. Rev. 2 v 23 ... then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds....
Through the sinful nature comes a depraved mind. I don't believe Satan takes over thoughts, only God can control our minds, he can open them and shut them.
If I have a bad thought, should i immediately blame satan?
Let's suppose I watch television and see a product advertised that is meant to tell me I need it because it will make me look better or make me feel better about myself. Instantly i might be thinking 'yep you don't look good enough, you need this'... so through satan's cunning ways of making me feel bad about myself (because he hates the fact that I'm loved by God and created in His Image) he succeeded in tempting me with a product. Does that make sense? And those who tempt me with the product (via tele) are greedy for money, they don't care at all about what i "need". You really got me thinking now, lol.

SATAN CAN NOT READ OUR MINDS

Don't be deceived, Satan is no dummy. He may not have wisdom but he does have TONS of knowledge. He has been around for ever 6000 years on this earth. He has perfected his craft of deceiving people.
He does not need to read someones mind to know how to tempt them. He can see our behavior patterns & he knows when we are weak in situations.
He has idea times to tempt us. Like he did, with Jesus, he waited till he was weak, so he would do the same for us.
Do you really think Lucifer could read Jesus mind?
If he could, he would have not even bothered to tempt him, for it was hopeless for Lucifer but he did not realize the Love bond that Yeshua actually had with Jehovah. But like Jesus said, He's a Liar & he only comes to Kill Steal & Destroy. Those are his 3 Goals. & No matter who you are, He will never stop pursuing his goals until he is bounded.
Now don't be discourage because Whenever you are tempted you must know that GOD ALWAYS PROVIDES A WAY OUT & HE WILL NEVER LET YOU BE TEMPTED BEYOND WHAT YOU CAN BARE. For he is a Faithful God.
The one that is in you is MUCH stronger than the one that is in the world.
