What an interesting post.
I like 1 John 1:1-9

But if I had only 1 minute to present the gospel, I would not quote scripture for several reasons.

First of all, the person may not believe in God.
Second, they don't know why they need Him.

So I'd say this, taking together many verses:

We have to decide if God exists. If He does, then we also have to believe that He made Himself be known to us by His Son, Jesus.

He did this because He wants us to know that He made us because He loves us and wants us to go to be with Him when we die.
This can be achieved by Believing and Trusting in Him, in His Son, who came specifically to teach us how.

We are sinners and need salvation. Jesus offers us that salvation.
We must accept the gift offered to us by our Father in heaven and abide in Jesus as He will abide in us.

Talk to Him and learn about Him. This could be done by reading the New Testament.
Make the right choice.
Choose God.

Hey, people! Today I will be doing a review on one of my favourite books in the world: the Bible!!! Oh yeah, look at that elegant cover on this thing! *ahem* Anyway, this book one of the best step-by-step tutorials on how to go to Heaven and not become a flambé for all eternity! Woohoo! Doesn't that sound wonderful? So, you may ask, what is this wonderful secret I need to go to Heaven? Well, if you really want to find out, I recommend you buy a copy yourself today, and find out for yourself! I'm not very good at explaining all this anyway...

(I actually timed myself while reading the entire thing. It took me about 47 seconds to do so)

I would say the gospel is the "good news" of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16). To believe the gospel is to trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation.

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God The greatest being
So loved The greatest compassion
The world The greatest need
That He gave The greatest donor
His only begotten Son The greatest gift
That whosoever The greatest invitation
Believeth The greatest response
In Him The greatest object of one's belief
Should not perish The greatest escape
But have everlasting life The greatest reward

Go for the OT

Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

For the cause of Christ

Hmmm.... dunno

God is perfect
We are not (you cannot deny that, we all do bad stuff, even if it isn't murder)
That "bad stuff" is called sin, be it mass murder or a lie to get our of trouble
Sin means we turn away from God (or sometimes even run and hide. just like children caught doing something wrong).
... sometimes God is the scary, angry parent because we see His wrath at our sin,
but more than that, He is the loving parent who will forgive us when we ask forgiveness.
Jesus died so that God would not have to use His ultimate power of punishing us, that He did to Jesus.
When Jesus was on the cross, all of our sin was "on" Him.... God's anger was on Him.....

So in stead of His wrath coming upon us, He allowed us to say "Sorry daddy", claim into his lap, and get a hug (along with being told not to do that bad thing again). .... and yes, sometimes we do that thing again and again.... do you know of any child who does not?

...and does a normal, loving parent throw out their child because he/ she threw a tantrum again? No! They keep on forgiving, keep on loving, keep on correcting. .... that's what God does.

Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of GOD....end of story...geesh....I cannot believe what some say.....

It is not that we loved him, but that he loved us and gave himself for us

All have sinned and fallen short of God's Glory

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe

He that believeth in the Son is having everlasting life.

I think it be better if you looked it up yourself
Such is the purpose of speaking in another tongue
It excites the mind of some
And makes them curious
But since you ask me kindly
I will give you how I translate it
But mindful my translation may not be the best
So I still encourage you to put it to the test

Hail Mother, grieving
Son crucified, weeping
Glory in the resurrection
Heretics in condemnation
The faithful are saved from the world
Truth burns nobly
The Kingdom of God reigns eternally
Long live King Jesus

Yes, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 says it all. The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and how that saves us (baptism). Baptism is how we obey the gospel of Christ.

"With flames of fire (hell) He will take vengeance on those who know not God, and who obey not the gospel of His Son."

God became a man named Jesus. Jesus died on a cross for our sins and rose again . Believe on Jesus, trust in Jesus and his work on the cross and resurrection to save you rather than your good deeds and call on the name of the Lord Jesus to save you and to forgive you of your sins.

I would plant the seed, Exodus 20:3-17

3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.

4
“You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

7
“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

8
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9
Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.

11
For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

12
“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

13
“You shall not murder.

14
“You shall not commit adultery.

15
“You shall not steal.

16
“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

17
“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

Now the next person that comes alone and tells them about John 3:16 and they will understand how deep that love is with the 10
Commandments as it's backdrop. Good news is only good if the bad news has taken it's toll on your life.

No place does it say to preach the law of Moses and then to preach the gospel. Paul preached the gospel not the law of Moses.

The gospel is this as seen preached by Peter and Paul in Acts and it is all about what Jesus has already done. The law of Moses was for the Jew. The Gentile has the same law written in their hearts and they are without excuse too and they know it. Rom.2: 11-16

Here is the message that brings the Holy Spirit to fall upon those that believe the message of Christ Himself. This is Peter speaking.

Acts 10:43-47 (NASB)
[SUP]43 [/SUP] "Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins."

[SUP]44 [/SUP] While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message.

We are not saved by water baptism, but by believing the gospel (Romans 1:16). Choosing to believe the gospel by trusting in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation is how we obey the gospel. Romans 10:16 - But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?"
