When was the last time you sinned? What was that sin?
Has any one made any plans for tomorrow?

James 4:[SUP]13 [/SUP]Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:[SUP] 14 [/SUP]Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.[SUP] 15 [/SUP]For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.[SUP] 16 [/SUP]But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.[SUP] 17 [/SUP]Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

If there was any thing good you could have done today but you put it off for tomorrow, is that not sin?

The greatest lie satan ever told

God will not keep his promise, it is up to you, Your salvation is not secure. You better work hard.

His second greatest lie.

After you work hard, You still fail.. So God still will not keep his promise.

Do you really think you can be LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD WHILE SINNING? Do you think you are "saved from your sins" WHILE YOU'RE LIVING IN SIN?! If so, you have believed in vain, and 1 John 3:8 says you are of the devil!!
Most believers try to do the best they can religiously to follow Him by keeping a commitment or a promise to do so and fail.

Luke 9:[SUP]23 [/SUP]And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

If we can't save ourselves, then we cannot follow Him. Since He saved us by the grace of God by faith in Jesus Christ, then He will help us to follow Him by the grace of God thru faith in Jesus Christ as our Good Shepherd.

So look again in that verse you cited in 1 John 3:8 for the hope that believers living in sin need to know.

1 John 3
:[SUP]8 [/SUP]He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

See that? Jesus is our hope for freeing us from our bondage to sin so we can follow Him.

1 John 3:
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.....

Philippians 1:
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:....[SUP]11 [/SUP]Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Romans 13:[SUP]13 [/SUP]Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.[SUP]14 [/SUP]But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

1 Corinthians 10:[SUP]12 [/SUP]Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.[SUP] 13 [/SUP]There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

2 Timothy 4:
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Jude 1:
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,[SUP] 25 [/SUP]To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

So nobody is perfect as they should deny themselves as able to follow Him so as to trust in Him as our Good Shepherd that we can. If any one sins... they can still ask for forgiveness and for help not to do it again.

1 John 2:1
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:[SUP]2 [/SUP]And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

1 John 1:[SUP]4 [/SUP]And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.[SUP] 5 [/SUP]This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.[SUP] 6 [/SUP]If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:[SUP] 7 [/SUP]But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.[SUP] 9 [/SUP]If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.[SUP] 10 [/SUP]If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

So use 1 John 3:8 as a hope for believers still in bondage to sin so that they can look to Jesus for help to free them and afterwards keep on relying on Him all the time to help them to follow Him by even guarding their minds in Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 10:[SUP]3 [/SUP]For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:[SUP] 4 [/SUP](For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)[SUP] 5 [/SUP]Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;[SUP] 6 [/SUP]And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.[SUP] 7 [/SUP]Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? if any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.

1 John 2:[SUP]15 [/SUP]Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.[SUP] 16 [/SUP]For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.[SUP] 17 [/SUP]And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Philippians 4:[SUP]6 [/SUP]Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.[SUP] 7 [/SUP]And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.[SUP] 9 [/SUP]Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Psalm 19:[SUP]12 [/SUP]Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.[SUP]13 [/SUP]Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.[SUP]14 [/SUP]Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

Psalm 33:[SUP]18 [/SUP]Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;[SUP] 19 [/SUP]To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.[SUP] 20 [/SUP]Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield.[SUP]21 [/SUP]For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.[SUP] 22 [/SUP]Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

[video=youtube;_rR_Rdb1CTE]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rR_Rdb1CTE[/video]

Jesus did teach us to pray to the Father to ask for forgiveness of our trespasses as we are to forgive others of theirs.

Truly we live by the grace of God thru faith in Jesus Christ as our Good Shepherd in following Him as His disciples whereas no one can boast except in the Lord.

I was at home by myself a few months ago and became drunk waking up feeling like death the next morning that caused me to have a godly sorry that made me repent.
so you went 2 whole months?

Boy you better start studying the word. Find out who God really is, He will show you the difference between you and him, and you be amazed at how much sin you do not even know (or refuse to know) you have done in those two months.

Although be careful, you also may be humbled by it!

Yes, followers of false grace are in deed "wretched" and they don't understand the guy in Romans 7 says he was "sold under sin" which shows this is not a born again man but one trying to keep the law under the OT in that he wants to do right but cannot.

Until we get our glorified bodies we will always fall short of absolute perfection even if we grow spiritually to where we don't walk after the flesh anymore and willingly / knowingly sin.

Big difference those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil spoken of in Hebrews 5:14 having grown to where they do not live a sinful lifestyle and those that claim to be Christians who retain sinful behavior and still say they are saved claiming sin covers their sinful lifestyle (Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid - Romans 6:1)

Once we leave Club Earth and get that glorified body we ain't going to be falling short of perfection cause in God there is no darkness!

Not according to some on the board here who claim to be Booze Drinkers for Jesus

I guess eventually someone will come along and will claim to be Pot Smokers for Jesus
Paul spoke present tense. He did not speak of his past life, but his present life.

Paul did not say I was a wretched man, He said I am a wretched man.

Yep, the I do not drink smoke, cuss commit murder rape etc group who think they are holy, because they do not do those things.

I think God just laughs, then come to my mind I think he is instead sad, because he can not understand why people would think this way.

Why? Jesus lamented over jerusalem, who thought this way, and because of it rejected him.

Seems like you just sinned as well....

Romans 14.4

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

Romans 14.23

[SUP]23 [/SUP]But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.

Yay! Another user here to tell everyone else they're wrong! We don't have enough of those already. And referring to Christians as "Christians" makes the condescending and self pride levels go way up! Congratulations on being smarter and more spiritually enlightened and using that as a chance to put others down.

You will fit perfectly in the BDF.
So this post completely judging him and doing to him almost exactly what you're accusing him of is better? Just asking, because this is a pot/kettle situation if I've ever seen one.

God will not keep his promise, it is up to you, Your salvation is not secure. You better work hard.

His second greatest lie.

After you work hard, You still fail.. So God still will not keep his promise.
the 3rd greatest lie is that SIN is something you cannot help or are helpless over...We will never be perfect or sinless ever. We should be able to gain complete victory over some sin that makes tangle us[Heb 12.2]

I have not used profanity in 2 weeks...

Does this make me impossibly sinless and perfect or is the perfect word of God taking out the possible bad mouth and causing it to be impossible to use profanity again?

I used to be an impossible drunk, now it is impossible for me to drink...sinless perfection? or the perfection of the word at work in my spirit, soul and body?

I used to a impossible pathological liar, now it is impossible for me to lie or even exaggerate...sinless perfection? or the perfection of the word at work in my spirit, soul and body?

The woman accused of Committing adultery in John 8.....was an impossible fornicator, but Jesus told her go and SIN no more, What SIN? all her sin or maybe one that entangled her from running her race. I would bet after meeting Jesus she never committed fortification or adultery again. Other stuff sure...

I totally get where some of you are coming from, but some of you think thee is no victory over some SIN now and that is just something the Bible does not say.

The past condition of sinner does not apply to the sin-forgiven, born again son.

The 4th greatest lie the devil tells the church

Concentrate on how wretched you still are, even after Jesus paid it all for you and you have been raised into newness of life and despite the fact that God has told you that he no longer remembers your SIN.

We forget what we should remember and remember what we should forget. If God no longer remembers your SIN, why should we?

When I lashed out in a profanity laced tirade at my John Deere 2 weeks ago. I calmed down and ask for forgiveness, asked my neighbor to forgive me and my wife, who all heard it. Then went back to work in the Word to renew my mind from letting that happen again.

Sin-consciousness is not found anywhere in the Bible after conversion.

There is no SIN you are not aware of doing or helpless against.

WE SIN because we like to and want to, not because we are helpless over it....

You seem to think the way is about being powerless and helpless over SIN until the last day...the Bible does not teach this, it does not mean we will ever be prefect or sinless because we wont be...

You should take your own advice and study the word, if he has not had another drink or gotten drunk in 2 months, he is sinless on that entanglement and the word would agree with him and not so sinless on other things that entangle him.

The same is true for you. Jesus did not pay it all for you to walk around today and have zero victory...he overcame so maybe you should start to spiritually mature a little bit and overcome on a few things yourself.

Imperfect/defective verb tense disagrees with you here. Same for 1 Tim 1.15, and John 18.6

I AM in these verses is a defective tense, which actually means "have been"

Check thayers or vines...

We're always going to be imperfect and commit sin? 1Peter 1:4 tells us to let patience have her perfect work to make us perfect and complete lacking nothing. Why does everyone here condemn me for having done so? I know God is pleased with me for letting patience have her perfect work in me making me perfect and complete. He will tell me on that day "Well done my faithful servant, inherit this Kingdom that's been prepared for you."
We all stumble at times but having confessed our sin God is compassionate and merciful to pick us up, brush us off and to send us again on our way on our spiritual journey.

The third lie is that sin is compartmentalized and some will cause you to lose salvation and some will not...........
SIN is missing the mark and plainly defined as willfully & intentionally doing something God told you not to do because it is SIN to you and Him.

Romans 14 is all about this, so is Genesis 3, 4.6 and James 1.13-16.

SIN is choice and never , ever is an action we cannot help ourselves. you may disagree and that is fine.

The Sin issue was taken care of over 2,000 years ago, yet many are still not convinced it was. I know of no sin that would cause one to "lose" or "keep" their salvation as I do not believe one can "lose" their salvation or "keep" it

I do not think God laughs at the lack of true knowledge of anyone. I think Jesus weeps when people put him back on the cross all over again, because they cannot understand he dealt with the SIN issue already.

GEN. 3:4.
the biggest lie was in the Garden, when satan told Eve,
'And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
