As bad as CCM is getting with easy believeism, I wonder if there are any biblically sound groups.

It's getting bad in Southern Gospel also.

Try Sovereign Grace Music. They're as solid as you can get and they're contemporary.

Why don't we put some of these groups songs up on this thread so those who are looking for solid Christian groups/singers can hear them

Why don't you just ignore it. You reply wasn't very gracious or peaceful. Ironic isn't it? It's biblical music so technically it probably falls under bible discussion some how. All the other crazy post that are in here surely you can endure one about theologically sound Christian music that is in no way controversial or causing people to fight and argue about who is right?

Even though I'm Reformed, I'm not a big fan of Sovereign Grace..there's one guy who sings with them that I liked..at least a few of his songs.

I think he's singing this song with Norton Hall Band at SBTS in Louisville:

Vertical Church Band has to be my favorite. Here's my playlist:

I also like Norton Hall Band, Rend Collective, For King and Country, Rich Mullins, Steven Curtis Chapman, Wes King, Phil Keaggy, Jason Waller, Dustin Kensrue, Citizens and Saints. All Scriptural and powerful.

Here is a lyric video to my favourite band Theocracy and their song Easter which captures the feelings of His followers after His death and their awe when He is risen. The second half leaves me stunned.

I cannot listen to most of Christian music.

Its amateurish, all the same style with unoriginal melodies and unoriginal singing.

Enough for singing in church... but for listening to? Ehm,no.

Matt Maher - Lord, I Need You

Lord, I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You're the One that guides my heart

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

Teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You
Jesus, You're my hope and stay

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

You're my one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

because we have an actual section of the forum specifically designated for Christian music.

What are your favorite, biblicaly sound, contemporary Christian music artists

Elgibbor is one of them.

the name is Hebrew for "
Almighty God" and probably 90% of his song lyrics are word-for-word scripture being set to music.
how many artists or bands can say that? it doesn't get more 'Biblically sound' than actually singing the Bible.

the artist doesn't make money from what he does; he does it for God alone. i doubt he does much more than break even on the cost of producing a small batch of CD's, if he doesn't actually lose money on some of them. most of his 15+ albums are limited to 100 physical copies. i love that - because the common accusation, oh, these guys are making merchandise of the gospel, getting rich from people's religious emotionalism? that's thrown right out.

if you click play, the next thing you'll probably do is judge.
don't judge by appearance - the musical style is not what you hear on pop radio. it ain't going to tickle your ears or appeal to your flesh. it's powerfully emotional but it's not emotionalism.
i love that too; the system shock.
these aren't plastic songs churned out for the masses to reap up hundreds of thousands of album sales and high-priced concert tickets, $50 t-shirts and paid appearances on television.
so instead judge rightly, by substance.
these songs have one purpose: to worship God

I hear the sound of Your voice
I know the power of Your cross
I run into Your arms

Because of the Mercy

I delight myself in You
And break forth in a heavenly dance

You are Everlasting God
You are the Defender of the weak
You lift us up on wings like eagles
You call back the sinner
And You wake up the saint

You are the Author of salvation
And conquer hell
You are
So we wait
You are
You are coming soon
You are coming soon

Getting bad? Southern gospel has been bad (actually terrible) for years...doctrinally speaking.
