Treasure in heaven is the building of the kingdom of heaven here and now, our character determines what we do, the closer we walk with our Savior, the more our character becomes like His, the more we yield our will to His, the more He can work through us to accomplish His purpose, when we cooperate with his Spirit , we are empowered in amazing ways.
He has called each of us for an awesome purpose, however only those who, through a life of submission and obedience to his will, become vessels fit for the Masters use.
the works He does through us IS the treasure, the reward now is peace, true joy, and ultimate security, knowing that whatever happens around us or to us, He will NEVER leave us nor forsake us ... never.

Think of treasures on earth. Not as in monetary exchange value but what you love. Now think of what God will store away as a reward for doing His will. On earth if we give we will receive many times more. We are not to give to receive so dont expect to receive from the one you give to as that is not giving but a swop. Is manipulative as a "You owe me one" type thing. No. Give and God will make a way to bless you! And it comes via unexpected places!
Reward in the heaven for persecution ... KJVMatthew5:11-12 11.
