"The owner of the historic heirloom also stated that the Bible is in used but good condition, with all of Scofield’s study notes still clearly visible at the bottom of the page."

I thought for sure that when Jesus rose up into heaven on the Mount of Olives - that the KJ "version" of the bible fell out of His sleeve.

Is this where Paul got his copy? If it was good enough for Jesus and Paul and Silas - it's good enough for us....

I always thought that when apostles were together and discussing what Jesus really said, suddenly, the glowing KJV Bible descended from the heaven, covered in light, the hymn of the British empire was heard as angelic choirs sang it loudly in the skies and the Union Jack covered all of the place.

From that time on, we have always had the perfect Bible print.

Ohhh...that would have worked for sure!

God save the king. ( even though he made sure that the translators translated certain words according to his dictates )

Yeah, who cares about Spanish, Dutch, French etc empires. Only one English king rules them all!

So they must all learn and use KJV.

Ohhh....now they all must learn "concupiscence" and a whole host of other non-used words in all languages in order to "read" the scriptures now....

( I wonder why God choose the most common every day language of the day to write the scriptures in? )

10 amazing facts about the KJV:

1) It is totally waterproof - survives shipwrecks that would leave normal bibles in shreds

3) It can be used to refute what the actual Greek words mean when someone shows us the meaning of a word.

After all - only the KJ "version" is inspired by God. The Greek is meaningless and false if it contradicts what the KJV says or rather what my "interpretation" of it is.

How about the following:

Matthew 9:17 - NASB / wineskins - KJV / bottles
Matthew 1:11 - NASB / deportation - KJV / carried away
Luke 6:22 - NASB / ostracize - KJV / separate you from their company
1 Thes. 2:18 - NASB / thwarted - KJV / hindered
1 Tim. 3:3 - NASB / pugnacious - KJV / striker
1 Tim. 3:8 - NASB / sordid - KJV / filthy
1 Tim. 6:16 - NASB / a pang - KJV / sorrows
Hebrews 7:2 - NASB / apportioned - KJV / gave
Hebrews 12:1 - NASB / encumbrance - KJV / weight
Revelation 6:8 - NASB / ashen - KJV / pale
Revelation 18:1 - NASB / illumined - KJV / lightened

I could go on and on...but difficulty should never be an issue when dealing with the word of God. Can the word of God be difficult sometimes? Yes, and I'm thankful. If I understood it all, that would make me God. I'm glad I have to follow the command to study to shew thyself approved unto God a workman who needeth not to be ashamed. Maybe it's because all the new versions replace that word study.

Understanding of all in the Bible would not make you God :)

Also, are you sure that the word "study" should not be in the list you presented with its modern equivalent? Maybe their "study" does not mean our "study". And you can ask in such a way about every word you read in the KJV.

Bad, right? Oh yeah... thats why new translations.

"Study"..."to use speed ie make effort (in understanding), be prompt or earnest (by) giving diligence (in a learning) endeavor"....Nope?...Sounds the pretty much like they way "study" should be defined. But, of course, you may interpret that however you may see fit.

If your search is severe enough and diligent enough you will surely find a version of the bible you like. No matter which version you have it will still be difficult to understand if you do not like what it is saying. This is especially true regarding the blood of the eternal covenant and the dictates to live pure and holy like the Lord Jesus.

Demonstrate compassion for those poor souls that possess only ten or twenty versions of the bible.

And in this way you must go through the KJV word by word and translate it to a modern English.

You guys should be ashamed of yourselves! The sole reason I read the KJV is because it is the only version Jesus proofread, and then authorized. Which was tough, since no one in those days spoke English.
