There's just something about that sentence that can help break a sad heart. I try to recite it each day. :)

What do you find that helps you to Rejoice in the Lord? What are you Rejoicing in today? I noticed that someone posted that God supplied a job for him and that made me think that we should have an ongoing rejoicing thread. We've so much to rejoice in and be thankful for.

I'll go first. :)

I'm grateful and rejoice that His mercies are new every morning. Great is His faithfulness.

I rejoice that I'm able to study God's word through an online resource. If that wasn't available, I wouldn't be able to join a local bible study because they're too early in the morning for this body to be able attend.

I rejoice in that if He said it will come to pass.. others may let us down and life changes without notice but God and His word are a constant.. His reliability is something that brings me great comfort

Wow.... so many things applicable here... Bluebirds, when I see them, they remind me of an answered prayer. I rejoice in that. Nature in general... such a "GIFT from God".... I always rejoice in it! ~ Healing... makes me rejoice in God's grace and mercy and love for Him just grows deeper. I rejoice in that tremendously. ~ New "friends" like you... You make me smile and I rejoice in that!

He is constant and reliable! My life so changed when that truth became a part of my knowledge of Him. \o/

Good thread.

I had been feeling a little down lately so this thread was especially encouraging for me. It helped me to think about all the things that the Lord has already done and all of his promises. I am thankful most of all for his love and his mercy and that he has promised to never leave or forsake us.

Once again, this is a really good thread:)

Aww, you're so sweet JoDel! That is something to rejoice about.......new friends!!! :)

And of course I get what you're saying about rejoicing over the bluebird.

I remember that God said when the sparrow falls to the ground and breaths its last, He knows it. And yet they were sold for such a minuscule amount.

So even the least important part of His creation He cares about and knows everything about them. How much more does He know what we go through.

And the birds of the air don't worry about if they'll be fed or not. They don't sow nor reap and yet God feeds them.

I have an apricot and peach tree and those birds of the air swoop down and eat up the fruit.

But I always remember this scripture and I'm not upset with them anymore for all the pecking in the fruit.

They actually mess up the fruit and don't eat it all which is what use to upset me. You could go out to pick some apricots and there'd be so many that the birds pecked on, but didn't eat the whole dinner. :) Bad table manners, eh?

And amen to all you've said!!! Thanks for sharing what you rejoice in.

I get excited and join in with you and everyone else when we share about the goodness of God. It lifts my spirit to hear what He does in the heart of others. :)

Hi Tabitha, Yes!

Waking up in the morning we can rejoice that we have another day in the Lord on this side of heaven. What cake did you make?
Have you shared it with us? I look forward to your posts in the recipes section.

Another reason for rejoicing.........all the different and various foods He blesses us with. Whenever I ate at a cafeteria style restaurant I would always look at the various display of foods and wonder at God for blessing us with so much abundance.

That's one of the reasons I like to give to ministries that not only bring food, clothes and medical aid, but the gospel as well. I'm grateful for the abundance we have and read a book that said we have so much so that we can give to those who don't have enough. It reminded me of the early church where everyone had everything in common so that no one would go without.

We could all write books upon books of blessings and thanksgivings of all that God has done for us. \o/ Praise the Lord for His lovingkindness that never ends! :)

Hi 1ofthem,

I'm sorry you're going through a down time. I'm so with you and understand.

I go through them as well and have learned that praise helps to overcome the sad moments. You make me think of that song, "Count Your Blessings, Name Them One By One".

I visited with a friend yesterday who's in her 90's. She was going through a difficult time. She started crying and I cried with her and wrapped my arms around her and prayed for God to bring her comfort and peace. By the time I left, we were both laughing and rejoicing in the Lord for His goodness!

Thanks for the kudos. I'm so happy God's words through everyone here has been a balm for your soul.

God loves you and is always with you through tough times and good times. As Zi said, "God and His word are constant."

Great is His faithfulness! \o/

I am grateful for the story of MANNA in the wilderness because I know that asking for HIS BREAD..daily...
is sufficient

And I can rest in HIS FAITHFUL PROMISES

Amen, miknik.

I never thought of being thankful for the account of manna in the wilderness, but I have associated it with not living on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God which is what you're saying. And yeah, it's daily bread. Thanks for that reminder!

Thank you Lord for you daily bread each and every day which sustains us, feeds us and causes our spirits to grow in you! \o/

That cake sounds delicious. I have a sweet tooth for sure. I've had to curb it though and mostly eat vegan, but once in a while I allow myself a cheat. :)

We had a local restaurant that baked their own desserts. One of their cakes was called an Italian Cream Cake. The cake was chocolate, three layer with ganache
frosting and a cream cheese frosting between layers. The contrast in flavors caused the chocolate to taste that much more rich. It was sooooooo delicious!!!

They closed down, but if I really wanted it, I think I could make it. :) Yes, it's nice to see recipes because even if they aren't vegan I can sometimes figure a way to make them so. Also, I can make them as is for my husband and family and friends. :)

I like that saying, "God is good all the time......and all the time God is good".

A hot mug of coffee
A pan of cherry tomatoes
A bucket of blueberries
Enough sweet corn for the winter
Enough squash, peppers and egg plants for dinner

And green grass in my yard that is knee deep. A granddaughter who loves to mow it for me.

I just walked through the house and Mama has a ham in the oven.

It has been a blessed day.
Thank you God for being close, keeping me and my family safe, and for saving a young redneck country boy so many years ago.

I am rejoicing that He knows me, inside and out, and He knows all my thoughts and why I think them. I guess I am rejoicing about His companionship. I talk to Him all the time about everything, and He is listening, I know. My fears, my insecurities, all my questions about things, and I know He knows me better than I know myself. It's very comforting.

Thanks for sharing, Galatea!

Your response and the way you worded it made me think about how God's rejoicing over us.

Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is in your midst,
A victorious warrior.
He will exult over you with joy,
He will be quiet in His love,
He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.

I also love how you shared how your relationship with God is so real and practical and supernatural, all at the same time. May we all sense that same comfort and companionship!

To me, this is just so contagious.......rejoicing with others as they share what they're rejoicing in. God is alive in our hearts ... Hallelujah!

The Lord bless you and keep you,
The Lord make His face to shine upon you.
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
