Nope. It is NOT okay to kill hereticks.

John 16:1These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.[SUP] 2 [/SUP]They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.[SUP] 3 [/SUP]And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.[SUP]4 [/SUP]But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.

You are commanded to withdraw from them with Jesus's help when they refuse to repent or just plain not hearing you.

2 Thessalonians 3:1Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:[SUP] 2 [/SUP]And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.[SUP] 3 [/SUP]But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.[SUP] 4 [/SUP]And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.[SUP] 5 [/SUP]And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.[SUP] 6 [/SUP]Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.[SUP] 7 [/SUP]For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;...........[SUP]14 [/SUP]And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.[SUP] 15 [/SUP]Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

Titus 3:[SUP]10 [/SUP]A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;[SUP]11 [/SUP]Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

NOWHERE in the N.T. is there any instructions for believers to kill hereticks.

Christians have done it in the past; and we are not just talking about the RCC, but even by order of John Calvin. We can hope that later on in life, they had realized their error and have repented, but we leave them at the judgment seat of Christ.

Just know that Jesus does not want us to kill hereticks and has given this guideline of excommunication when a brother refuses to repent.

Matthew 18:[SUP]11 [/SUP]For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.[SUP] 12 [/SUP]How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?[SUP] 13 [/SUP]And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.[SUP] 14 [/SUP]Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.[SUP] 15 [/SUP]Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.[SUP] 16 [/SUP]But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.[SUP]17 [/SUP]And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

Even here.. Jesus did not give any commandment to kill the heretick, but excommunicate him unless he repents.

I hope the Lord is confirming His words to you to receive that it is not okay to kill hereticks, but to excommunicate or withdraw until the brother repents.

I will be as gentle as a dove, not a wolf. Vengeance is not mine ever, that belongs to God, whom knows what to do with wolves. He knows your future, not me. Curse them not, but blow blessings. Do good to the enemy, more rewarding than, being kind to a loved one. Killing is not meant for me, not afraid of losing my flesh!

I don't watch much news so Im not up to date with whats going on so Im lost as to why this is a thread. Is there a rise in killings of heretics that makes this a topic for coverage?

No!

The reason why we are making light on this thread is that it is so poorly conceived.
The quoted verses make no sense for the supposed topic.

when we are called, chosen, elect, it can be a very unbelievable experience
that He may require of us - always be ready Brethren, to obey and serve as
He demands, whether you are ready/agree, or not...it's our LOT...to obey
as He Commands...

What about what John and James wanted to do to the Samaritians and wanted to rain down fire on them like Elijah did in the Old Testament?

Jesus said - "you don't know what manner of spirit you are of - The Son of Man didn't come to destroy men's lives but to save them."

But we can be "righteously offended" at those that don't agree with us on a subject and we can then....
