Mat 5:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
Mat 5:18 “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

I am going to start by asking, how does this passage fit your teachings? I do ask once more that we stay inside this passage, and if one must go outside this book, please make sure any passage you use is with in the context of the passage in question.
I really like to make it as simple to understand I possibly can. Jesus came to fulfill the law and that is what He did and that is what we do when we are hid in Christ. Jesus said on the Cross "It is finished" If he weren't talking about the law and the prophets, what was He talking about?
Until heaven and earth passes away, we're bound to the perfect laws of loving God with all our being and our neighbor as ourselves. We can only do this with God's strength. This fulfills all the law and the prophets. If we love God and our neighbor with godly love, we'll not steal, kill or commit adultery, we'll honor our parents whether they deserve it or not. We'll not worship false gods; we'll let Jesus be our rest, we won't take the name of God in vain; we won't bear a false witness against people and so on.

But it is important to note that we are not obeying the laws and commandments to merit eternal life or salvation; this is only Christ's work not ours. he is the author and finisher of our faith. Our job is to be faithful to trust and obey that "He who began a good work in us will complete it." Remember Jesus said, "Well done thou good and faithful servant" He didn't say "successful servant. " All we have to do is be faithful and rejoice that our names are written in the Lamb's Book of life and share the gospel with others as much as we can even if it kills us. The fruit God wants from us is only the fruit of the Spirit of God. God's grace mixed with faith is the heavenly mixture of salvation; now we can work out the gift of salvation we have received with fear and trembling and we can pray that we build on the foundation of Christ with gold, silver and precious stones so we don't suffer loss.

Hahaha...you might have a point there....people don't like (GOD's) law and order...if they did there would be no need for this thread. (sorry for digressing)
Do you know the hearts of men and women?
Do you know what a man or woman in their heart looooves and clings to as their only TREASURE

Do you know what is hidden from your eyes that isn't hidden from HIS?

Good point. So when eight days are fulfilled, does that mean if a child is born on the 1st day of the month then he would be circumcised on the 1st day of the second week since it is written that eight days were fulfilled for the circumcision?
that sounds right.

It sounds like the kind of thing the Rabbis spend lots of time talking about... suppose the child is born at 12:01 AM, when is the eighth day?

does the day begin at sunrise or sunset, and sunset where you live or sunset in Jerusalem?

imo, these things are all very important if one wishes to carefully observe the Law.

I think to get a full understanding one would do well to read 20 along with it.
Once we do that, it becomes clear that He is letting us know that man can not will a thing into being. Though as it talks about prophecy, he is making it clear that ma can not see what is coming, unless HaShem opens their eyes to it. Take John, when he wrote the Book of Rev. He could not have known any of what he seen, had not HaShem opened his eyes, and shown him.

Private interpretation.

They (the prophets) only speak what HaShem has gave them. They do not try to tell you what it means, unless they are told to. Also it is not open to ones own way of thinking, we must see it for what it is, and then it must fall into context with the whole of the Word, and not just the parts we hope fit.
A side note if you don't mind. One may also find in the passages, that the Spirit of HaShem, ( Ruach HaKodesh) is not something that just showed up after Yeshua, as some teach. It is and always will be that part of HaShem that speaks to us. Telling us when we do wrong, or when we are going to do something wrong.
Ever had the odd feeling that something just wasn't right? Then you find out latter that something had gone way wrong? That is what this is talking about. Well more or lass anyway.
This of course does not need to be answered by Rainrider.
Anyone please can consider answering this question

How does GOD(HaShem) speak to us today?
Because, of course we know there is only ONE SPIRIT (that was also in the prophets)

aldo what I whisper to you in private?
what are we supposed to do with what we are given by THE ONE SPIRIT?
And is yeshua's spirit different from HaShem's spirit?

First thought was, "Were did that come from?" LOL
I think we are being told to 2 things here.
1 to live a quit life, and not go around starting problems. By this I mean arguing over over ting even small tings. Or trying to create drama where there shouldn't be any.
2. We should not look to others to pay our way. Don't get me wrong, I am not going to say that a person doesn't need help from time to time. I am thankful that we do have a system in place for just that purpose. Yet at the same time, no one should just sit back and ride on the back of others that do work.

Ok I have to ask. Why did you ask about that passage? Seems an odd thing to find on a thread like this one.
Is this your private interpretation considering in your above post you said it isn't right to give private interpretations

Yet
here you are doing so

And if not mistaken, aren't you grafted into the seed of Abraham,

I know that ye are Abraham's seed; John 8:37

If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. John 8:39-40

Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. John 8:41
Yes we are grafted in. Rom.11:16-22
Well all that if you want the full context.
Wait ZMouth, didn't CHRIST say more than what you referred to from john 8?
namely that if THE SON sets one free, they are free.

But the man of the law who were trying to trap HIM by the law said we're not the slaves of a man

showing they didnt believe HIS TESTIMONY to begin with

abd they used the law again to trap HIM
by saying, you can't testify of yourself...your testimony isn't valid

The Spirit of Faith is one of the seven Spirits of God.

Didn't you know that God is a Spirit? The Spirit of truth.
So seeing you do not know the law or laws of Faith how so be it you are saved by it?

Isn't there only seven days??? If Saturday is the 1st day of the week and Sunday is the 7th day of the week, then you go back to the first day of the week so what do they called the eighth day?
ZMouth, what does "8" signify?

No matter what time a son (who was to be the spiritual head over his family's house, inheriting the full birthrights of his father) is born into the world according to those who had and were under GOD's Law, on the eighth day and after the sabbath (7th day) that child was marked signifying what

Pleaae see if you agree with my understanding g:

Pointing to and signifying that the 6th day (natural/fleshly) man has passed through the 7th day (Lord's SABBATH rest) and has been marked as a NEW (8th day) CREATION in CHRIST

This is professing CHRIST
And that is what all who have been called into CHRIST are supposed to do

Profess HIM...HIS WORK

And not ourselves

if what you do is done to honor THE LORD, HE knows

but if what you do is done to honor yourself?

that HE also knows

Sorry

i really don't think I can "sutup"

because it isnt the honor of men that I care about at all
but when one takes the honor away from the ONE to whom it belongs

i can't "sutup" about it

okay well here goes. these are my thoughts and I have not finished reading the thread but this is what I understand from studying the law and it's prob time I look into it more but I am not inclined to follow dietary laws or similar. I don't believe that is necessary and have never had a desire to do so. that is no reflection on what another chooses to do

the law is still in effect. it has not changed. Jesus fulfilled the law, so what does that mean? simply that Christ kept ALL of the law, He never sinned and therefore the obligation before God of perfect obedience was met and God's righteous holiness was NOT obligated to give Jesus the death penalty which is why He rose from the dead. as the scriptures say, death could not hold Him.

23 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken[c]by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; 24 whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. Acts 2

and of course as we know from the life of Abraham, it is FAITH, now and always, that God honors and the faith is IN HIM as now IN Christ

this is the simple version.

CHRIST is just a man who accomplished the workings of the law which was against us?

and we can follow the model of CHRIST and do the same thing?

Is that what you are saying?

because that is what it sounds like

ia that what you are saying?
miknik, let me say this with respect to the fact I believe you are a Christian, but let me be plain

there is something wrong with your ability to comprehend

I am sorry but I see no point in answering you as, previously demonstrated, you seem to choose...and it is a choice, to continue to disbelieve

I don't know what you want? I thought you said you lost all respect for the op and were outta here

my best response at this point, coming from my lack of patience with those who just like to dig for no apparent reason (perhaps I can work on that) is

whatever dude

ps. that is not what I am saying and I am helpless as to know why you would think so

GOD would not allow HIS HOLY ONE to see decay
this is why death could not hold HOM

Further. How was THIS HOLY ONE....holy?

Because HE earned for us life by accomplishing what we couldn't so
or because HE came in our covering so that we might be covered over and hidden in HIS COVERING,

Okay wait, so I should acknowledge Jesus as Lord. Personally, that's a little confusing to me, as I was taught of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. But yes, I trust the perfect sacrifice of Jesus' blood. And I also believe me that he rose from death. I literally just watched risen and wanted to cry the whole time. Yes I know it's a movie, but I actually believe in Jesus, and seeing him sit next to and talk to a guy who had literally just killed him days earlier was incredible to me. And because of that and other things as well I will follow Jesus wherever he goes, so to speak...
my husband and I watched this movie a couple of weeks ago and we both liked it

I especially liked how the Roman was honestly searching for the truth of Christ and he found it! I think it works the same way now for us

btw, we both thought the line 'he's going to do it!' (referring to Jesus healing the leper AFTER His resurrection) funny but true to life. I still think of it. Jesus is going to do it! He is going to do whatever is required to help me in my search for Him because I think we do search for Him even when we know Him.

13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

Of all the Hebrew people, only 2 were allowed to enter the land.
Num 14:30 Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

The reason was that they rebelled, and would not do as they were told. enter the land and take possession of it. Caleb and Joshua on the other hand tried to get them to go in.
the 'inhabitants' of the land were never eradicated either as they were supposed to do

that line continues and continues to fly in the face of God

another example of what not obeying God can create. but people like to say every single thing that happens on the planet is somehow the direct doing or interference of our Creator, but it is obvious to me that is not so. I was taught that, but it makes no sense

it is still 'whosoever will' and still up to us what we make of our walk with God

we know what He wants, but He will not force us

I think you ask me to many stupid questions trying to trap me in my own words..
You think my questions are stupid?

i won't burden you with another
It is too late...You cannot take back what you have already said.
HE doesn't want us to kill anyone
it will not be by power or by might

but by HIS SPIRIT

But in the end, those who do not truly know of whose SPIRIT they are of, will make that manifest by what they do in the time of trouble

Abd the result will be "misrepresenting (to put it mildly) GOD

Not only that, rainrider, you said you didn't want to have accusations in your thread, you came across as if this was something you wanted to avoid but when I was unjustly attacked by FGT and did not fight back, what did you do, but add fuel to the fire and told me, out of nowhere, to "sit down and sutup"?
Talk about takeing something out out context.. I said, "I know sit down and shutup" as in telling me to do so.
