It is not Paul that expects us to walk in righteousness, rather it is the Holy Spirit of Truth speaking through Paul telling us these things: by the way you left out v16 which sums up the matter:

"Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?"

As for v23 wages are earned and deserved: gifts are unearned and undeserved.

Have you ever looked up the word gift?

The word is "charisma" and it means...

From G5483; a (divine) gratuity, that is, deliverance (from danger or passion); (specifically) a (spiritual) endowment, that is, (subjectively) religious qualification, or (objectively) miraculous faculty: - (free) gift.

The gift of God is the opportunity to partake in life with God through the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ.

Grace is "charis" in the Greek and it means...

From G5463; graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude): - acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, grace (-ious), joy liberality, pleasure, thank (-s, -worthy).

Salvation is a result of "obeying from the heart" which is "faith."

Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Rom 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Rom 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

"Saved by grace through faith" (Eph 2:8) is speaking of the cooperative dynamic of "working with God" which is why Paul taught reconciliation (2Cor 5:17-20) in this context..,

2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

2Co 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2Co 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Grace = Divine Influence of God Upon the Heart

Faith = Wholehearted Yielding to God, Faithfulness snd Fidelity to God

Salvation = Abiding in the Love/Divine Influence of God = Total Transformed Life = Freedom From Sin

...which is why...

1Jn 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
1Jn 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

AS HE IS, SO ARE WE!

How many have that testimony?

Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wideis the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

The balance in Christ about condemnation, is to know what Gods love is through the
Holy Spirit in your heart. You have been anointed so that you might know acceptance
and blessing, that though there is a struggle there is also victory and communion.
Yes, and if you decide to not be an overcomer having forsaken your sin... and decide to continue making sin a part of your lifestyle, you will be told by Jesus to depart from Him cause you be a worker of iniquity.

This is cause some to be denied entry in to God's Kingdom simply because... they chose iniquity over walking in agreement with Him in close personal relationship which is the purpose of your existence.

Buddy, turn the page and go and read Romans chapter 7....
You really need a reality check!
In Romans 7 the guy says he is "sold under sin" which proves this is not a born again man, but a man living under the OT law who cannot keep the law. God's Word (NT) never describes the born again believer as having been sold under sin.

Your reality check just bounced!

Augustine of Hippo who was the first theologian to view the wretch of Romans 7 as the present Christian experience.
Yeah and the hippo in the room... is wrong.

There is no "Book of Augustine" in God's Word so following this guy is extra biblical and leads to false doctrine cause his writings are not inspired by God.

Grace = Divine Influence of God Upon the Heart
The grace of God is God Himself acting in unmerited love and favour. Your use is very secondary and comes from the first..

Faith = Wholehearted Yielding to God, Faithfulness and Fidelity to God
Since when has faith become its fruition? Faith is full hearted reliance on God to save. Faithfulness and fidelity are the RESULT of God saving.

Salvation = Abiding in the Love/Divine Influence of God = Total Transformed Life = Freedom From Sin
You are mixing up God doing His saving in Jesus Christ, and what follows from that. Jesus actually saves us through the cross. Abiding in love and being totally transformed are the RESULT of salvation as is 'freedom' from sin..

...which is why...

1Jn 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

How many have that testimony?

All Christians gradually, because they are looking to Him to fulfil it
