From out of nowhere all things of understanding and
grace slip away overnight. All of a sudden we need
to cope with a hideous illness that comes along, the
brightness of our world suddenly goes dark. There
are no guarantees if life; life is not a mathematical
equation. That means it is never, x+y=z, there are
always unknowns and always things that are out of
our control. It is easy to love God in these times of a
seemingly eternal bliss. And then we awaken in the
morning one day and all of a sudden we have a pain.
Upon going to the doctor, we discover we have cancer
or some other chronic condition. Wow! where is God,
where are you God, where have you gone. Well the
truth is that God hasn't gone anywhere. It does mean
though that our faith has gone somewhere. Were we
sitting on the right hand of God with Jesus and have
now gone to the left. Is God's left ear deaf, is He no
longer listening. Is that the case or have we gone deaf
and blind and the cancer has awakened us. Who knows.

Sometimes when you find yourself being eaten up with cancer, your faith never went anywhere. And you are still abiding closely in Jesus. You are still thanking the Lord everyday that his anointing and life is coursing through your body to keep it healthy. You are at peace with him and others around you. You are loving his word daily.

Yet - all of a sudden this sickness strikes. It is very hard to believe. And to you, who are daily ministering to others and to the Lord! But because of your closeness to the Lord and your listening ear, you hear the loving invitation to go through this with him because he wants to show his power and mercy. He wants to reveal himself in new ways and take you even deeper in the understanding of what endurance is all about.

You then realize that things just aren't that black and white. And if you are completely trusting that your life is in His hands, you surrender to what is, knowing that his goodness will always be shown you. And when you do, you begin to feel his life and peace coursing through your body even while with the cancer and through all the treatments. Others see this and so he is glorified.

This I experienced, and my faith went nowhere. I never moved from my position in Christ. Dusty, be careful how you make judgments about why people get cancer. Life and its trials happen both to the spiritually weak and to the spiritually strong. It is all through the bible. We are never told in the scriptures that we won't get sick - we are only shown that he is the healer. And so, those of us who are sick, know that healing waits for us.

Really I wasn't making judgements on any specific person. I was responding
to the many that I have personally heard from who are fighting the fight of
spirituality that exits with many. I understand your comment though, you have
personally won that battle as I have. Every day though I encounter people who
have not and are going through rough times. :D

Vince Lombardi, football coach once said, 'give me the man that can fight while he is losing,
that's the man that I want on my team'...

LUKE 16:8.
'for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.'

the children of the world put So much more effort into their endeavors or battles or struggles
than the children of God...ever wonder why? think about it!
