FYI.

One Pope Killed more Christians in ONE afternoon than all the Roman Emperors put together. Look up Innocent (catchy name huh) Pope Innocent III and Columbus Day......?????

Here on this Protestant site few people accept Catholicism as a denomination, but rather view it as a cult. The sites Official stance is also that the Catholic church is not Christian nor part of the church of Christ. Don't need to watch a video on it.
He's been on CC since 2012. This is his game.

No game! Someone sent me this video recently. I found this video one sided and lacking any facts that support the catholic claim. It bothers me that there are people who would swear by this video, rather than looking into the Word of God. So I put it up for comments/ reactions.

As I understand it the original Church consisted of various congregations loosly connected to each other by Bishops. The Bishop of Rome was the most influential being head of the Church in the Empires Capital. At some point the Bishop claimed to be the head of the whole Christian Church I assume this was at the time of Constantine. In one sense the Catholic Church is the original but became corrupted by
compromising and adding to the teachings of Christ and scripture to accommodate the many Pagan converts that joined it when Christianity became the official religion of the Empire.

I summarised the history a few posts back!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NG3QdH7Z74sThis is a catholic video. Need your comments please. No offense to anyone.
Well I watched it . It's cult like slick . Fast moving pictures set to the beat of the music. The vid is made by a true believer of the RCC . He or she has no idea why protestants are not Catholic. He made the video using images of Paintings, sculptures and photographs of Catholic mass set to inspire the watcher ,along with misleading text and bland photos about Protestant denominations. This guy dose a epic fail none Catholic are only reminded of why many of us believe they are not Christian.Blessings Bill

welcome to the real world of Catholic bad doctrine that produces bad apples it's running rampant. Simon-Peter was a married man and a disciples of Jesus. some of the Bad Catholic doctrine are bishop, cardinals, popes etc. no marriage for them which is false teaching, Jesus allowed marriage of his deciples, praying to Intercessors, swinging smoke, kissing rings on men's hands etc. Slew of other bad doctrine.

Hot off the press yet other so called dude in charge of the Catholic Church, charged with sexual assault.

Well I used to frequent a catholic forum to find out for myself what they are like and here is what I learned from talking with them. first They are very much against sola scripture, they have no real base for their beliefs and doctrines aside from what they have been taught. They pray to Mary obviously and I confronted them about that they said it's the same as praying with a friend and I was like no it's not because praying with a friend is not worship praying to someone is.

There are many different branches in the Catholic faith and I cannot say that none of them are saved because there were some who I found to have more love in their in hearts than most people here and who showed God's heart beautiful in the things the spoke but most of them made it clear that the Catholic faith is not one where i would find refuge, they seem to believe in earning your way to heaven and according to them since i attempted suicide before I am officially banned from heaven just for trying to take my life

I've also been around stuff, I grow up around the Catholic stuff, was baptized as a child. I agree many folks have loving hearts but are deceived IMO by this doctrine the Roman Catholic is just another function of the Pharisees that kind of died out so it took on a new identity.

SURE.....WE agree...imagine that....The last concert I went to was Motley Crue.....St. Louis in around 88.....He got everyone in the room EXCEPT ME and my friend to make the devil horn symbol with the hand while yelling f the Christians for about 5 minutes because the Christians did not want them to come play in St. Louis....and then started the song Shout at the Devil.....with a massive screen showing 666, Pentagrams, Devil figures etc......

Last concert I went to....

I make an effort to not say anything negative about any religion or denomination.

The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.

Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Therefore, the Catholic Church is a johnny-come-lately.

Nevertheless, the following holds true for all who will:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
This will add to my first post above.

As far as God’s Word goes, there is nothing new under the sun

Mark 13:23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

Jesus is telling us that there will be no excuses when He returns.

Why? because he has told you everything that will happen in His Word. It is written there and given in many different witnesses,

If you have refused to study His Word than you have chosen to reject His Word. It simply doesn't matter what your preacher says, but what matters is what Christ said. Have you read His Word with understanding?

Mark 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

Jesus is telling these scribes and Pharisees that this is just one example of how your tradition make void the Word of God. There are many other such things that you do that is just as bad in making void the Word of God.

You can see now why Jesus has warned His disciples of the religious customs and practices of these Pharisees that crept in as leaven in to make void the truth of God's Word.

If you wonder how your church stacks up in accordance to the Word of God, a child can answer that for you.

Is the Word of God taught in your church chapter by chapter, verse by verse, line upon line, and precept upon precept with understanding?

Or do you have some super preacher that demonstrates his knowledge of the world and their traditions, standing Sunday after Sunday and never really getting around to a complete in-depth study of God's Word. He may pick up the Bible, but if it is not taught as God instructs, he is nothing but a hireling.

The wolf in sheep's' clothing, standing before the flock, and leading the sheep into another pasture.

When you leave the service, ask yourself, What did he talk about? what was the subject? and how did he apply it to the Word?

Is your teacher teaching so that you will understand, or is he putting on a show to entertain your mind. Is the Subject Christ and what is in the Word, or is it something of this world?

Stop and look at our communities today, most every corner in the community has a little church house, and the question that comes to mind is what is being taught there?

Traditions or the Word of God?

God looks at adultery in the same light as idolatry. Jesus' bride is supposed to be faithful to Him, and when they go chasing after all the things of their traditions. they become unfaithful brides, they become nothing but whores in the eyes of God.

The above is said to educate you in the feelings of God's love and devotion to His own.
