Ok What's the difference between the two? Most people I ask say they are both undeserved favor. But if they are the same thing, why do we say Grace and Mercy? Why does the Bible say Grace and Mercy?....Two different names must be two different things. Right?

Could you elaborate on the Grace one? You're almost there.

All right....How about Grace is the empowering PRESENCE of God which enables us to do the things He has for us to do.

Mercy is undeserved favor.

By the empowering PRESENCE of God we are saved, through faith.... " And its because of His wonderful mercy

Mercy is how one responds to others through readiness to help those in trouble (Matthew 9:13); Being merciful - sympathetic, tender, responsive, and compassionate (Luke 6:36). See also Proverbs 14:31; 2 Peter 3:9.

While grace is God's unmerited favor (Ephesians 2:8-9), loving-kindness and mercy (2 Corinthians 12:9), God’s favor and blessing (2 Timothy 4:22). See also Romans 3:24, 5:8.

My grace is sufficient, my power is made perfect in your weakness.. power, not presence supplied what Paul needed

Not splitting hares at all...You said "power to accomplish what His word says" And that's right...So where does Gods power come from....His presence? It comes directly from HIM and not a single hare was split.

That's a given if we are receiving both then certainly we understand who they come from

So? You were right. One of the few people I've ever seen answer it that way too! Most people define both as the same thing, in my experience.

Absolutely! While the terms have similar meanings, grace and mercy are not the same. To summarize the difference: mercy is God not punishing us as our sins deserve, and grace is God blessing us despite the fact that we do not deserve it. Mercy is deliverance from judgment. Grace is extending kindness to the unworthy. But by His mercy and grace we can now be in favor with God, rightly aligned in the way we live as he rules and transforms us effectually. Its more than a presence it is our real changed life thru His transformation of us.

Grace is an action, mercy is an intention.

A balerina gracefully leaps into the air, and smoothly lands on her toes some distance away- with great control and precision.

I see an ant on the sidewalk, and gracefully, and purposely, pass my foot over it so as not to crush it. (But any bugs who enter my home get the death penalty lol)

The death angel gracefully passed over the houses of the Israelites who painted the blood on thier doors.

God's wrath will gracefully pass over those who have His Son's blood on the doors of their hearts.

Chirst's blood is grace- it is the action applied to save us. The question is why? And the answer is mercy.

He chooses to have mercy on those who strive to obey Him.
