Something which many Christians forget is that (1) when we are JUSTIFIED we receive the righteousness of Christ but (2) while we are being SANCTIFIED it is God the Holy Spirit who is working in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:12,13)

Which means that none of us can produce our own righteousness at any point, and when God sees our righteousnesses, they appear as "filthy rags".

Amen Nehemiah. I believe when we believers walk in our self righteousness (and many of us have done it for years until we learn about the grace of God that teaches us otherwise) we dismiss the grace of God and put ourselves under the law. We do it ourselves. I believe God always sees us in the righteousness of Christ but when we as Christians believe we are "due" because of our own good works, we walk outside of grace here on earth and miss the blessings Jesus died to give us in the here and now because we try to get it by our works.

That is why many are weak and sickly among us and many sleep. (die) Giving Jesus the honor by acknowledging Him and not "our" worthiness via our works... then allows God to direct our paths. If I don't acknowledge Jesus in all my ways., He won't be able to direct my paths. Not that He doesn't WANT to but He requires the obedience of faith in this new covenant of grace we New Testament believers live under .

When so many of us have tried to live by the "obedience of the law or flesh" we couldn't understand why God didn't direct our paths. We wonder why we were not blessed in learning and teaching and healing and answered prayer etc.... it's because we went to God thinking He would honor us for our works of the flesh and pay us back for our works in the flesh...giving us our 'due' When what is required of us in this new covenant is OBEDIENCE of FAITH...believing and having faith in Christ and His righteousness we received as a GIFT., Having our eyes opened to the truth that it is because of Christ we have all things pertaining to life and Godliness....not our self righteousness and the fruit of that.

Fruits of the flesh look good and even feels good. It looks good and feels good to our flesh when we tithed or when we worked at church or donated our car or were in church when the doors were open., or when we taught Sunday School .. or when we were elders or deacons or pastors... it all looked good and right when we obeyed the 10 commandments.

But many of us have done those things in our own strength and thought it counted and we would be rewarded for "our" hard work. Romans 4:14-15

For if those who are of the Law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise is nullified for the law brings about wrath, but where there is no law, neither is their violation.

And yet., new covenant believers are living under the old covenant of law and teaching the 10 Commandments (teaching death) when they should be teaching about the grace and truth and righteousness that Jesus brought freeing us from the law of sin and death. The reason it is death is because to follow it and believe 'it' is getting us points with God will nullify grace.

If we only had known it is because of Christ that we are righteous., His righteousness is what we need to walk in and not our own when we sit or stand.

I've discovered it is because of Jesus I have anything., can do anything or be anything. It's that acknowledgment God sees and God blesses. God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth. The righteous shall live by faith., We obey the law of faith.., I've been learning God is not pleased with anything but faith in the finished work of His Son.

what did i do to be born in sin

Nothing. Adam's sin was imputed on the human race. Just as when we were born again in Christ His imputed righteousness was put on us. Jesus did it all.,paid it all., all to Him I owe... sin had left a crimson stain...He washed it white as snow...

Because of the position we should uphold being upright as most important. Jesus is not coming back for a bride who hasn't behaved like one. He wants a glorious unblemished, no spot no wrinkle bride.

His bride IS glorious and unblemished with no spot and no wrinkle. When Jesus comes., He comes for His bride., she was sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise. Who are sealed until the day of redemption. That seal was done by Jesus., not our works of righteousness that we have done. So those who have been sealed will be caught up together in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.

It is the grace of God that teaches us how to be like Jesus. We want to be like Jesus and the works we do will be done in His strength by the power of the Holy Spirit. It's the love of God that constrains us and motivates us. Not the fear of judgment.

after reading all this, looks like it will be me and Jesus and maybe a few more, in heaven

you can teach whatever you want, but you can't be any more than what you are

to deny Jesus, and what he is and acomplished, is nnot only blasphemy, but nit wittery,

When The Father looks at me, he sees the blood of Jesus. Jesus is my righteousness, not church not bible notyou and that is why I am THE LONE RANGER

You're not alone Maverick., there are many of us here that believe as you do. Jesus is our righteousness and peace. In Him we live and move and have our being. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. Faith in His righteousness freely given to us causes us to walk in newness of life and the freedom Christ died to give us.

Really?

my bride, my wife hasn't always acted as a bride, she's not unblemished or without wrinkle (wrinkles happen as we get older:cool:)

I still love my bride though, and will always love her.

Now before anyone storms on me I aint a great husband either, lots of spots and wrinkles but she loves me as well.

To me Jesus is coming back for his bride warts and all.

I may have got you wrong but you seem to infer that when he comes back unless you are not blemished and without wrinkle then you are not his bride.

Amen. I really like what you said here BillG you sound like a very good and loving husband. Your wife is a blessed lady
who I'm sure is very in love with you because of the way you love her.

The Bible says that the marriage between a husband and a wife is a picture of Christ and His church. Ephesians 5:22-33 Of course you as a husband are not Jesus but you are a picture of Him sort of speak of unconditional love and she responds to you. And she will because of your love. That is how we are in Christ. But Jesus is the perfect husband. He loves us unconditionally without fear or requirements for our earning His love. The Bride always has it. She is then secure in that love and can love back freely.

[SUP]22 [/SUP]Wives, be in subjection unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

[SUP]23 [/SUP]For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, being himself the saviour of the body.

[SUP]24 [/SUP]But as the church is subject to Christ, [SUP][a][/SUP]so let the wives also be to their husbands in everything.

[SUP]25 [/SUP]Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;

[SUP]26 [/SUP]that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the [SUP][b][/SUP]washing of water with the word,

[SUP]27 [/SUP]that he might present the church to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

[SUP]28 [/SUP]Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his own wife loveth himself:

[SUP]29 [/SUP]for no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as Christ also the church;

[SUP]30 [/SUP]because we are members of his body.

[SUP]31 [/SUP][SUP][c][/SUP]For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh.

[SUP]32 [/SUP]This mystery is great: but I speak in regard of Christ and of the church.

[SUP]33 [/SUP]Nevertheless do ye also severally love each one his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she fear her husband.

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Those who DO righteousness are Righteous, EXACTLY like the above Holy Inspired by God Scriptures teaches.
Those who knowingly and willingly commit sin are of the devil, EXACTLY like the above Holy Inspired by God Scriptures teaches. And ALL Scriptures are instructions to Righteousness. Those who have Jesus living inside of them have the Power and Strength to destroy ALL the works of the devil through Jesus who is in them. But woe to them who claim they know Jesus and that Jesus lives in them, yet these same freely choose to obey satan and continue to live in sins, never ceasing from them. What does Scriptures call those who can't cease from sin?

2Pe 2:14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

Can you cease from sin? If Jesus were your Strength and Power against Every temptation, then that answer is "YES"
Can you cease from sin? If you continue to knowingly and willingly do those things which you KNOW is sinful and against Jesus Christ, but freely choose to continue to do that sin, and don't want to cease from doing that particular sin, then you will not cease from living in sin.
Can you cease from sin? Not if you believe it is not possible or you don't have to, then you will never attain it.
Those who Truly desire to walk in the light as Jesus did, can do it with His help. But who WANTS to "Go and Sin No More"? Who is willing to give up that sin that they so much love and enjoy doing? Cursed children. Not merely because they can't cease from sin, but because they freely choose to continue to live in sin.

Those who do righteousness are Righteous.
Those who do UNrighteousness are children of the devil.
Your Master and Lord is to whom you obey. Do you obey Jesus when you are tempted to commit sin, or do you just deny His Power and Strength to overcome that temptation? And why do you deny Christ, because you WANT to commit that sin. For who willingly commits a sin that they don't want to commit? These want to obey satan, and still think they are on the narrow and difficult path that leads to Eternal Life, they will hold on to any particular verse that they THINK allows them to continue to live in sin and still be SAVED.

One of the major truths is to know the righteousness we have as believers was given to us.

Tell me. Does Scriptures teach that His righteousness is given to us on a daily basis? or given to us ONCE when we are Saved?

It is a gift from the Jesus Himself.
Tell me, is this gift given to us every day, or was it a gift given to us ONCE when we accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord and we repented of our sins, and He forgave all our PAST sins?

What we do is receive the gift when we get saved and that gift means we are no longer unrighteous.
Where is that written? That once we receive the Gift that we remain Righteous no matter what we do? Where is that written? i know that we gain His Righteousness at the time we GET Saved, the time we accept Him as our Savior and Lord. At that very time we accept Him, we are forgiven because of HIS Righteousness coming upon us at that very instance we confess, repent, and accept Him as our Savior and Lord. But where is it written this happens on a daily basis as you are suggesting. That no matter how evil things i do, because of His righteousness, i am still righteous. An Adulterer can continue to cheat on his spouse, and he/she is still OK because of His Righteousness. A child molester than can continue to molest children, just as long as the Righteousness of Jesus Christ covers him. Do you see the error in this thinking at all?

Jesus Christ gave us His righteousness at the moment we accept Him, All of our past sins from that moment are forgiven unto us because of His righteousness and His taking the punishment for our sins. What do you think Jesus is whipped for you on a daily basis? Do you think He dies for you daily? Nay, He did those things for you ONCE. When you accept Him as your Savior and Lord, you receive the free Gift from Him, ONCE. When you accept Him as your Savior and Lord, you are indeed Righteous, Holy, Just, White as snow. But then after that if you choose to knowingly and willing commit sin against Jesus, how do you claim to still be Righteous, to still be walking in the light as Jesus did? What do you think Jesus will be whipped again every time you commit sin, to take the punishment for that sin that you willing chose to do? He will not. This is why it is written to us Christian you will reap what you sow, this is why it is written you will be punished for the wrongs that you do. This is why it is written "Tribulation and Anguish upon EVERY soul that doeth evil" that includes you and me. Jesus paid for your past sins that you did up to the point you accepted Him as your Lord, YOU will pay for those that you commit after that point. Is it not written that He chastises those that He loves. If you do evil, Jesus is not going to pay for that evil thing that you choose to willingly do, you will be punished for that sin that you willingly chose to do.

We are now IN righteousness no longer outside of that righteous place that is called being "in sin"
So what you are saying is a person can live in all the sins he/she wants to, but is NOT "in sin" is that what you are saying? Know you not this is contrary to Scriptures? Who are they that are washed by His Blood?

1Jn 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness (choose to commit sin), we lie, and do not the truth:
1Jn 1:7 But IF
(Conditional) we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Woe to this generation who does not understand simple Scriptures. They read these verses but do not see nor hear them, nor understand what they are teaching.

The reason we are not guilty anymore so we won't be judged anymore is because we are seen by God IN His Son.
Where is that written, that if a person chooses to live in sins, that they are no longer guilty? Or that God does not see them as guilty. Scriptures plainly teach those who do unrighteousness are UNRIGHTEOUS. Those who do evil are children of the devil? This generation teaches you CAN DO unrighteousness, and you CAN DO evil deeds and still be Righteous, which is 100% contrary to what Scriptures teach. Scriptures teach that no Liar shall enter into the Kingdom of God. This generation teaches that Liars can enter into the Kingdom of God if they believe in Jesus and are SAVED, altogether making void all the Scriptures which plainly teach NO LIAR will enter into Heaven. How sad will it be for all those who continue to tell lies claiming that they are saved by Jesus Christ and on JUDGMENT Day, Notice it is called JUDGEMENT DAY, they will be Judged as a LIAR and their name will have been blotted out of the Book of Life, because they did not repent and cease from lying, and therefore they are judged as a liar, which no liar will enter into Heaven.
Know you not that JUDGEMENT DAY is to JUDGE Christians? The unsaved are judged already, they are unsaved, and will not be judged on that day. [Psa 1:5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. ] Have you not understood the parable of Jesus when He separated the sheep from the goats, both of which call Jesus "Lord" The sheep are they that walk in the light as Jesus did. The goats are those who claim to be Christians calling Jesus "LORD" yet are not Christians because they have FAILED to Love One Another which Jesus Christ COMMANDED us to DO (Works) This is also why it is written that Jesus said "Why do you call me Lord and not DO the things which I say" And He says to Love One Another. Do YOU call Jesus "Lord" yet do not LOVE ONE ANOTHER?

He sees His Son's righteousness on us because we received it the moment we got saved and were made new creations IN Christ.
And the moment you got Saved, is when you were made a new creation, a NEW MAN in Christ. is it not written to put the old man away with his/her deeds because you are a new man in Christ now that you got SAVED? But what happens when that NEW Saved person starts doing again the things of the OLD man, how have they not returned to the mire, how have they licked up their own vomit again. These have turned away from their Righteousness and denied Christ who could have given them His Power and Strength to overcome that temptation. They were white as snow, only to willingly and knowingly get filthy all over again. But this is not entirely the fault of the goats. The shepherds Failed to teach them the TRUTH What is required of them by accepting the free gift of Salvation, namely they must lose their life, they must LOVE One Another, they must obey JESUS Christ, they must get rid of the sin that so easily besets them as Scriptures also teaches. No not this generation they believe easy Christianity, believe in Jesus, live however you want to live, and you are still on that Narrow and Difficult path that leads to live everlasting that ONLY a very FEW will find.

We didn't earn it and we were not worthy of it. By grace through faith we received His righteousness.
True, and this happens for us ONCE, NOT on a daily basis.

Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly (Free) gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, (SAVED)
Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away
(knowingly and willingly commit sin), to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

IF your sin is forgiven by His death, know you not that every time you commit sin, you try to crucify Him again. If sin is what put your Lord and Savior on the cross, why would you continue one moment longer in it? i have learned to hate, even abhore sinning. Jesus is my Master, i will not obey satan when he tempts me to commit any kind of sin. Wow to those who claim with their mouths they Jesus is their Lord, yet knowingly and willing choose to obey His enemy and commit sins against Jesus Christ. Know you not that you deny Christ when you are tempted to commit sin and do not seek Him for help? Do not seek His Strength, His Power to overcome EVERY temptation that comes upon you. But because i tell you the TRUTH, and the Truth is not in you, you hear me not, nor will you hearken to Him who told me these things, which is God. (please note: i am talking to all, not to whom this post is replying to)

As we must receive all things from God in Christ by faith from now on. From now on we live BY the righteousness of faith., not the righteousness of works.
You should live by the Word of God, not the words of men. The Word of God teaches us how to cease from sin, the word of men teach how sinning is OK. Scriptures are True. Those who do righteousness are Righteous. Those who do unrighteousness or UNRIGHTEOUS, and it does not matter what they profess with their mouths.

That is why we have been set "free indeed"

Those who are free, are not living in bondage to sin. Those who can't cease from sin, are even now NOT FREE but is in bondage to that sin. Jesus has set me free, i am no longer in bondage to any sin. Praise Jesus for allowing a path out of every temptation and Praise His Holy Name that He has given me the strength and power to take that path out of every temptation that satan comes at me with. Praise Him indeed. But woe to them who obey satan and continue to live in sin, altogether they deny Christ and what He can do for them concerning that sin. There is no sin that you do that you can't cease from. Therefore be prepared to answer for yourself on Judgement Day, why you did not cease from them, why you did not seek help from Jesus to cease from them.

Willybob and Dave, you guys need to read the posts already written because much of what you have asked and said here can be answered by reading them. Understanding the covenants and what the requirements were under each of them helps us to rightly divide the Word of Truth for our lives today.

If a Christian considers themselves under the law., every day they will be working at meeting the requirements of the law. Making the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus of no effect in their lives. Because we know that Jesus met all the requirements of the law. None of us humans can. We needed the Great High Priest to go before us and make the way.

No one here that I know who understands the beautiful doctrines of faith of the security of the believer says that an adulterer or a murderer or a child molester is now going to have free reign to keep committing such monstrosities of sin. You need to step over from such human thinking and have some faith in the Author and Finisher of our faith. And the Holy Spirit who Jesus sent to be our Teacher., Guide and Comforter.

There is so much in your post Dave that it's hard to read along with the mixture of your writing and my writing together. Have you considered what happened when Adam and Eve sinned? That death passed upon all men after that so that all were counted as sinners in need of saving. All who are born now on the earth are sinners after Adam. All because of ONE man's sins... sins passed upon all men for all have sinned.

When Jesus came., and we are born again., the curse is reversed. Having done no good thing to merit getting saved., we get the gift of salvation that Jesus bought and paid for on our behalf. None of us could get out from under the consequences of being born of Adam's race by our own efforts. We were dead in our trespasses and sins and needed a Savior who is Jesus Christ. The God-man., He undid what Adam did and put satan under His feet.

In Adam all sin... In Christ we are moved from death to life. Placed in a totally different position from sinner to saint..from death to life. Our motivation now is coming from the new man and the working of the Holy Spirit in us and our new man learning who we are IN Christ. And we do need to learn about these truths from the sources God has given from the Bible and the Holy Spirit., from the gifts to the church of Pastors and teachers and evangelists. If we don't learn about these truths., they don't get downloaded into our minds by osmosis. We need to read and hear the truth as well as be taught by the Holy Spirit.

Just look at how those who didn't have the finished Bible were handicapped in their ability to stand in the truth. That is why we need teachers and preachers and one another.

Pastor Billy Graham has been used of God in his generation to be a blessing to so many people. It just astounds me that you can find fault and accusation with him.
We should all be so committed to Christ as Billy Graham.

Some will say the righteousness of Christ is imputed to them, which it is,but it is an outward appearance of doing righteousness that causes us to be right with God,for if the righteousness of Christ is imputed to you, then you would do righteousness, and if not doing righteousness, then how is the righteousness of Christ imputed to you.

The same as having the Spirit, for if you are led of the Spirit, you would show the characteristics of the Spirit, and you have crucified the lusts of the flesh with the lusts and affections, and will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, but if not,how are you led of the Spirit.

Mat 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Mat 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you(food, clothing).

Act 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Worketh righteousness is accepted with God,for it is the act of doing righteousness that causes us to be right with God.

Rom 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Rom 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

1Ti 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

2Ti 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

We see to be truly righteous a person has to do righteous.

And people need to understand when the Bible is speaking pertaining to the flesh, and the Spirit.

By the flesh before receiving the Spirit, confessing Christ, faith alone, not saved by works, and considered righteous by
believing, for that is all we can do.

After receiving the Spirit, faith without works is dead, and a person is justified by works, and not faith alone, and to be righteous a person has to have the action of righteousness.

That is because it goes from being fleshy confessing Christ, which in that position there can only be the action of confessing, and believing,in which no works of the flesh count,to being spiritual by the Spirit,in which the action then becomes an outward appearance of works, and righteousness,to be right with God,for it is of the Spirit, and not the flesh.

Having the Spirit we must show the outward appearance of righteousness,or we are not of God,and awake to righteousness, and sin not,and be workers of righteousness, which if we sin we are not showing righteousness at that time, and if we hold unto sin,we are not showing righteousness at that time.

And there is no doing good sometimes, and doing evil sometimes, that is going to save a person, for they do some good, for a fountain cannot bring forth both bitter, and sweet water, and a good tree does not bring forth evil fruit, and an evil tree does not bring forth good fruit, and a little leaven, leavens the whole lump, and a person cannot be led of the Spirit and do evil, and a person cannot do evil, and be led of the Spirit.

If they say we confess Christ, and faith alone,it does not apply if they do not have the outward appearance of abstaining from sin,and love does not think an evil thought, let alone do the act,for our position changes, and responsibility, when we receive the Spirit, and we cannot carry faith alone, and only believing for righteousness, after we receive the Spirit, for it must be action now,for our position is different going from fleshy to spiritual.

Well why don't you study this doctrine a little bit more. The righteousness of Christ is imputed to us because Christ not only paid our sin debt but in reality He became our righteousness and our sanctification, as well as our eternal life. Of course, the evidence should be that those who are saved live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world, but you are just about claiming that our good works make us right with God, and that is simply not the case. It is our faith in Christ and His finished work of redemption which makes us right with God, just as Abraham BELIEVED GOD and it was imputed to him for righteousness. And that is precisely what justification by grace through faith is all about.

Christians that are "in Christ and Christ is in them" have had God's righteousness imparted to them. They have now become the righteousness of God in Christ.

Not knowing this creates a religion of self-righteousness or works-righteousness.

Looks like it is time for "scripture" again in the area of righteousness. Why do people fight so much against the work of Christ and instead live by their own humanistic thoughts? Why don't we believe in Christ? Why are we continually denying Him?

I can give what the scriptures say about righteousness and believers that are "in Christ" now. Everyone can believe what they want too
.

The understanding of the new creation in Christ and the new identity of the believer is paramount to living the true Christian life.

It is time for us to "awake to righteousness and sin not". Awake means to "come to one's true self, to sober up to be your true self".

Here it says our spirit ( the inner person that is a new creation in Christ ) is alive because of righteousness that it is it.

Romans 8:10 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin,yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

Here righteousness is a gift - you don't earn it.

Romans 5:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

We have grace reigning in our lives because of righteousness in us.

Romans 5:21 (KJV)
[SUP]21[/SUP] That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Here righteousness comes by faith.

Romans 9:30 (KJV)
[SUP]30 [/SUP] What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

Here when we believe - we are righteousness.

Romans 10:10 (KJV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

We are in the kingdom of God.

Romans 14:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17[/SUP] For the kingdom of God ( Jesus said that the kingdom of God is within you..He might know a thing or two ) is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Here it says that God made us righteousness in Christ.

1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV)
[SUP]30 [/SUP] But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

This says we have become the righteousness of Christ ( this is called a dependent clause in the greek - it is determined as fulfilled because Christ became sin )

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
[SUP]21 [/SUP] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Believers are called righteousness.

2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Here it is saying that "righteousness comes by Christ".

Galatians 2:21 (NASB)
[SUP]21 [/SUP] "I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly."

Here we have the breastplate of righteousness - which is the armor of God that we are to be strong in.

Ephesians 6:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, andhaving on the breastplate of righteousness;

This talks about the new man in Christ - the new creation.

Ephesians 4:24 (NASB)
[SUP]24 [/SUP] and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

Ok..that's enough..there are tons more....

Pastor Billy Graham has been used of God in his generation to be a blessing to so many people. It just astounds me that you can find fault and accusation with him.
We should all be so committed to Christ as Billy Graham.
Graham has been used a cup of wrath in God's hands to be poured out upon the children of disobedience..His doctrine id from the pit of man's imagination..He is among the plethora of false prophets out of the bottomless pit released in the smoke of God's wrath.........those that eschew righteousness heap upon themselves flesh pleasing false prophets for dollars...be blessed

Note: Righteousness is the extension and outward manifestation of inward virtues from a pure heart under the influence of the Holy Spirit. (Manifest reality)….Virtue is never transferred anywhere in the text

Amen..I agree!

Here are some more scriptures from the Old Testament speaking of the future of us that are in Christ and He is in us.

We that are in Christ have the Lord's righteousness now in our inner man that is in Christ.

Isaiah 45:24-25 (NASB)
[SUP]24 [/SUP] "They will say of Me, 'Only in the LORD are righteousness and strength.' Men will come to Him, And all who were angry at Him will be put to shame.

[SUP]25 [/SUP] "In the LORD all the offspring of Israel Will be justified and will glory."

Here is one more from the OT - Isaiah 54: 17 of the Lord telling what the believer would have because of what Christ did in Isaiah 53 when He died on the cross to take away our sin and make us righteous in Him.

Isaiah 54:17

[SUP]17 [/SUP] "No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me," declares the LORD.

Folks we have a great salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ!

Ephesians 3:8 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,

This little pic says it all about being in Christ as new creation and He living His life through us because we are one with Him in the spirit.

Willy., Your post's message is so scathing and hard and unmerciful and without any grace., It's not the Good News. Jesus came and told us if we want to see the Father we need to look at Him., the Son. It's not dishonoring to look to Jesus now and not to the law of sin and death.

It doesn't mean you are lazy if you look to mercy and help and grace from Jesus. You need to step over into the new covenant of grace and truth that Jesus brought. There is mercy and grace and help in our time of need. Not condemnation and fear and death and an expectation of judgment. There is no more condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1
