There is one real question, "Have you repented and accepted Christ forgiveness through the cross?"

If the answer is yes, and you have work through all your known sins, turned from them and walk
in love and Gods ways you are righteous, clean, Holy, mature, a saint in the Kingdom.

Many will claim this is impossible, but they are disbelievers who do not have faith in the power of
the cross and the forgiveness of our sins.

Once you are forgiven and washed, the past is washed away and forgotten.
We are not struggling to avoid certain things, but striving forward to learn how to love and think
the best of others and see how we can serve.
If you spent more time asking yourself these, instead of being the Luke 18:9-12 man, looking down on others, thinking they are lost, and you are saved, you'd fare well.

Scripture doesn't put much, if any stock into persons who incessantly proclaim their own righteousness, as you yourself practice. You have much to learn; 1 Timothy 1:15; Matthew 5:3&c.

We can never, ever repent enough or try hard to not sin enough or any of that to attain the righteousness of God yet that is what is required to enter Heaven. THANK GOD we are hidden in Christ and we have His perfect righteousness that we could never otherwise attain.

It seems many in the kingdom (that is saved people) seem to confuse salvation with sanctification. We are free from condemnation when we walk in the light and we walk in the light if God lives inside of us. That is the gospel of my Lord Jesus Christ who tells me I am to rest in Him and trust in Him alone.

In this current life I am finding that the more I can accept the truth of who God says I am(forgiven, righteous, redeemed) DESPITE evidence to the contrary then the more my mind is renewed. To put it another way, the more I let God work through me by setting aside my will the more God works through me and the easier I find it to set aside my will. Why is that important? Well for me I know that the enemy comes only to kill, steal and destroy so when I am at my weakest he will tempt me. Then I will need to set aside my will and let God's will take over so even though I may be too weak to fight that temptation God will rescue me from it. I liken it to spiritual batting practice, the more I succumb to God's will the easier it will be for me when the pressure is on to rely on His will instead of mine.

If on the other hand I try and maintain my salvation by what I do (repenting, trying not to sin etc) then when the time comes that I need to rely on God's will I may find it more difficult to lay aside my own will as i'll be out of practice.

Remember, faith is not believing what we see, it's believing what we don't see. Do I feel like I am the righteousness of God? nope, but God says I am and if God says one thing and I feel or think something different one of us is mistaken...hint...it isn't God. So I am left with a choice, do I live by faith and believe God when He says who I am or do I go by what I see and feel and choose to disbelieve what God says about me? It's a choice we all must make and only by choosing correctly can we grow spiritually so that we can follow Jesus command to love.

By this logic, no preacher can preach or call people to repentance and sorting themselves out.
If you were to preach to me what I am sharing I would say amen, preach on brother.

But know you intent is to silence me, and claim I am just a hypocrite.
So Jesus was a hypocrite to, and the apostles, and every preacher since then.

This is just heresy and rebellion, taking a stand against those who stand up and proclaim
the light who has come into the world to bring forgiveness and salvation.

I am not talking down to people, but rather preaching healing and remedy. Does a doctor say
to the ill, wallow in your illness and contaminated food, I cannot help you, I have enough problems
of my own? No they get up, and help apply medicine and educate people in the ways of health and
life.

We can never, ever repent enough
This is rubbish. It is spoken by someone who has never repented of the true issues
in their life, so has always felt condemned and not free.

God wants us to repent of all our sin, and understand each sin and why we do it, and
work to change things. But this is brutal, costly and hard, and only in Christ can we
do this, so the carnal nature of man will do anything, literally to avoid this.

Make no mistake these false teachers teach a different gospel with a different Jesus
who does not set you free, other than when He returns and some distant future point.

Believe now for pie in the sky later.

Do you know why these guys hate me so much?
Because I preach Christs words and they do not like Him either.

They tried religion and trying hard to be a good believer, and junked it in.
It never occurred to them they might have missed the reality and Christ all along.

Nothing I say will change the reality in their hearts, because they have heard the
truth, rejected it and made their own compromised way through.

But light is simple. It shows where we are and where we need to get to and how.
What they have is just stay in the darkness of sin, and the light of Jesus will come
when we die to sort it out.

How is that being light today, in ones own life and the lives of others?
It is not, because they do not actually have the light, and do not know what to
say, or have it sorted in their own mind except for this inane doctrinal dripping tap.

And they hate me because I do not stay in one place but show the weakness and
emptiness of the place they inhabit.

all you show is you think you are sinless and perfect, ( you are not, no one is ), and that you are " above " most of us, and you are here to " help ". that is what you show.

you also refuse to use Scripture in context, and refuse to correctly identify sin as the Bible does.

gb9 - you obviously do not agree with me you are Holy, pure, cleansed and righteous.

I am not above anyone, I am just a follower. You have made the first mistake, thinking this is
an argument or discussion. There is one truth, follow God or perish.

You do not believe this, so you have chosen your way. God bless you for as long as you
have got, because when the blessing is withdrawn, judgement falls.

no, it is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ or perish.

peter, you seem to know a lot about psychology. well, I am pretty sure most any psychologist would tell you that if one gets offended by simply being told that they are not sinless and perfect, that person is in some serious need of self-examination.

it is I who feel sorry for you. you have been coned into believing that you can be without sin. that is a lie. no human being is sinless. and you are a human being.

Lol. Where do you get the idea I am offended.

I am a sinner washed clean and now a saint. It is you who is getting upset about the gospel
of victory and overcoming.

You, by your words, admit you are neither clean or forgiven. That is unbelief, in your theology
an unforgivable sin.

Put simply you do not believe God and the cross.
You obviously do not understand what sin actually is, and live in a state of continual self
condemnation and lack of acceptance, as defined by your statement, no human being can be sinless.

Christ was a human being and sinless. That was the point. He demonstrated we have no excuses.

But you still do not get this simple point, that I understood as a teenager.
If you had real faith from Christ, you would see He accepts you as you are, and can wash you clean.
Sin is not inevitable or innate. That is the lie of the world and the lie of satan.

The cross says, yes you are loved, yes you can be clean, yes you are brought into the Holy of Holies.

So deep is this conviction of sin and unworthiness, it is hard to hear Jesus come and embrace us
as saved, made whole, purified, wonderfully made. Liars will always come and condemn the people of
the Kingdom and discourage them when they walk in love and righteousness.

I am not perfect nor know if I have become so, because that is Gods part, but I know I am washed
clean by the blood of the lamb. And I will rejoice each day that I can serve Him, Amen.

The anger here and hatred is on their part, not mine. Call me what you will, invent the biggest evils
you like, the gospel will always be the same, that light has come into the darkness and now we can
walk without stumbling, if we walk in the light.

I am not calling you anything, nor am I trying to discourage you. I wish I never, ever would sin again. but, the Bible clearly lays out standards we are to keep. if we fail to keep them, we are sinners. it is simple.

feelings do not determine reality. facts do. just because one really strongly from the heart feels like they do not sin, that is not what determines if one sins or not.

to him who knows to do good, and does not do so, to him it is sin. do I do exactly the right thing to do in every hour of every day? no . neither do you, or anyone else.

this is not discouragement. this is reality, without filtered through emotions.

My friend you have called me a sinless perfectionist, a worker for salvation.
Both of these things are a discouragement.

And truly sinning makes us sinners, but sin is something you have to intentionally do.
But the prize is not like the jews who set up elaborate ways not to sin, but to actually
learn how to love, and deal with sin if and when it arises.

And I am not detemining reality through feelings, I am acknowledging them as part of
everything we do. If is funny how you hold to a theology about not being focused on
sin, but actually argue for this very thing all the time.

I who acknowledge the damage sin does, emphasis righteousness and love, and when
sin arises, confession and repentance. Why do you think the temple had sacrifices all
the time? Because dealing with sin, and change is part of maturing in Gods people.
He provides a way through, and asks us to have faith, persever and overcome in our
struggles. We only overcome because we persever, to stop, is to die, spiritually, to
wither and dry up.

If people got off legalism, and focused on the walk, this whole discussion would not be
necessary. It is like a school kid saying, "Why do I have to go to school? It is just too
long and difficult." And the answer is, "Because it works and there is no other way."

" sinning makes us sinners, but sin is something you have to intentionally do "

now there is a fine piece of religious double-speak.

here is the Biblical definition of sin- missing the mark, falling short of a standard, knowing to do good and not doing so.

if one says he hits the mark, and never misses , always keeps the standard, does exactly the right thing in every situation, then that person can truthfully say they do not sin. one person, who was God ( the Word ) made flesh, did so. no other human can truthfully say that they do.

now there is plain speak. I do not need fancy figurative language to get a point across.

God cannot tolerate sin, of any kind. His mere presence, His perfect holiness would instantly destroy the sinful vessel.

that is why we need Christ's imputed righteousness , he makes us the righteousness of God IN him, not in us.

The above puts in some simple concepts.

1. You cannot be pure, holy clean in Christ.
2. God cannot tolerate sin
3. Jesus continually is seen as standing, not you, so you are ok in sin.

Now to substantiate this theology sin must become everything we do, something innate,
something that is not clearly defined but just there.

When you get to defining it, you find this condemnation and lack of definition is the work
of the enemy. It is why God gave the law to help us see this.

Love overcomes sin and death in our hearts, but what you hear from these believers is defeat
and continual failure, and condemnation of anyone who would hold to walking in Gods ways.

Now logically it does make some sense, but its fruit is not Christ, His words or His gospel.
Jesus criticised the pharisees though they appeared righteous and failed in small areas,
their error destroyed everything, leavened the whole lump.

peter, I am sorry it has come to this- I have not done this to anyone in my 5+ years here- I am placing you on ignore. as long as you refuse to acknowledge the Biblical definitions of sin, then you speaking about being righteous is invalid. you cannot deny clear Biblical truths and at the same time speak of walking as Christ walked.

good luck and God speed. I hope you one day accept the Biblical sin as the proper definition.

Amen Fish., well said! It is amazing how the more we do this., the easier it is to BE who we are because in fact., that is what we are to be learning by practicing the truth Jesus put in us already. How can we win the battle on our own if we are trying to fight for what we already are and already have? We are not trying to be righteous..... we ARE righteous.

It's "reckoning" the truth to be real and the right way..., that is how we do it. We recon to be dead to sin and alive to God. This is where so many of us have missed the truth and fallen off the wagon sort of speak. Much like riding on a stationary bike going no where but peddling for all we are worth and soon become exhausted and discouraged.

We are not fighting FOR the victory., Jesus already gained it for us. We are actually fighting FROM victory. And knowing this truth makes all the difference.

Well gb9, I am not shocked by a lack of communication.
You have shown yourself to refuse to accept we are cleansed, holy and righteous as believers in
Christ after we have repented of our sins and believed on Jesus, but this is not good enough for you.

You want to create a mark, and your mark that you have made means no one is ever righteous or
good enough, always sinners.

When Jesus forgave people their sins, did He ever say, do not worry, I know you can never stop
sinning I am just pulling your leg. Nope, never, not even once.

Yet according to you this is what He meant. You want a Jesus after you own ideas and making.
When you manage to believe Jesus has forgiven you, you may one day wake up to the glorious
gospel we are part of. God bless you.

The authentic Biblical gospel of Jesus Christ is 100% about right relationship restored between God and man!

The first man, Adam, once walked with God but that relationship was severed when he chose his relationship with Eve over his relationship with God by partaking of the forbidden fruit. Every generation born there-after was born into godlessness until Christ came to do what the law could not.

Now keep in mind that forgiveness of sins could be achieved through the Old Testament law through animal sacrifice. If forgiveness of sins was Christ's motivation for coming to earth, then the cross was not necessary. However, Jesus humbled himself by becoming a man, spent his entire ministry illustrating how to walk in right fellowship with God then bore the cross and rose again to accomplish the one thing that the law could not...

The restoration of the relationship between God and man through the indwelling (Holy) Spirit of Christ. The gift of righteousness that every believer receives at the moment of salvation is that same Holy Spirit that both indwelled and empowered Christ. Man can not possess righteousness apart from walking in the Spirit.

“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 14:18)
I just needed to correct the point that is underlined,

Heb 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Heb 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Heb 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
...
Heb 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Heb 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
Heb 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

The bulls and goats where just a shadow of Christ. The bulls and Goats could not free us from the condemnation of the Law.

"The mistake of thinking that doing right makes us right is the same error the pharisees made. Religion has always preached that if we clean up our actions our hearts will become clean too. Jesus said the opposite;
Matt. 23:25-26

[SUP]25 [/SUP]Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. [SUP]26 [/SUP]Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

It's through a changed heart that our actions change. The heart is the issue. Actions are the fruit the heart produces. "
