Yesterday, I had some praise and worship music blasting in the house while I was cleaning. The front door was open since it was sunny. Emma (one of my daughters with special needs who cannot walk) was sitting in the doorway, dancing and really getting into the music. Suddenly she stopped and called for me. With great excitement, she bubbled to me that she had yelled "I LOVE JESUS!" out the door at the top of her lungs so the neighbors would hear. I told her that was wonderful.

A few seconds later, she called me again. She was sitting on the couch and had a "I need to have a serious chat with you" look on her face. I sat down next to her and asked what was on her mind. "Does God answer our prayers?" she asked. "Yes," I told her. I was about to explain how sometimes God answers "yes" and sometimes he answers "no" but I noticed she had her eyes tightly shut and was clasping her hands together in deep, heart felt prayer. Suddenly she sprang from the couch, attempted to take a very large step (all in pure confidence) and landed flat on her bottom. I was startled, having no time to catch her, and asked her if she was alright. She looked very emotionally hurt and confused, but not physically hurt in any way. I knew the look without her even having to explain: What in the world went wrong?

I have often asked myself the same question as I cried out to God in a complete surrender of faith. Why won't he give me my heart's desire? It is during those times I think back about how close I have become to God through trials and how the pain I feel about my children's health has drawn others toward the cross. These things are deep and hard to explain to a sweet girl who's faith is undiluted by age and the world. My prayer for all my children is that God will give them the ability to take "no" for an answer. Even though it hurts and even though we don't understand, God has us in his hands and knows what's best for our lives. "No" may be just the answer we don't realize we need to hear for our lives to be everything we want them to be. No matter what storms we go through, in Christ everything has a purpose and a plan.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. --Jeremiah 29:11

I'm lost here. Where does the bible say that God says "NO" to our requests? I've never seen that

I have seen this however....
[h=1]2 Corinthians 1:19-21 (CJB)[/h] [SUP]19 [/SUP]For the Son of God, the Messiah Yeshua, who was proclaimed among you through us — that is, through me and Sila and Timothy — was not a yes-and-no man; on the contrary, with him it is always “Yes!” [SUP]20 [/SUP]For however many promises God has made, they all find their “Yes” in connection with him; that is why it is through him that we say the “Amen” when we give glory to God. [SUP]21 [/SUP]Moreover, it is God who sets both us and you in firm union with the Messiah; he has anointed us,

Oh boy denadii, tell me, are you invoking what you have learned from word of faith teachers thinking that just because your "anointed" God can't say no? I seem to remember reading in my Bible about an annointed Apostle where God say no to him. I'm referring to the Apostle Paul at 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, you should read it.

when we come to realize that 'our' desires are NOT always God's desires for us,
then we know that we have climbed a 'mountain'.. - because He has allowed us to reach
a place that we could never have come to without Him...

great post!

sometimes the prayer we pray isn't the prayer the spirit prays alongside of us

ROMANS 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered.

the goal?
ROMANS 8:29 to be conformed to the image of his Son.

what does that mean for a child who can't walk?

your daughter will know one day
1 CORINTHIANS 13:12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.

No he does not lie and yes...sometimes the answer is no....I have a severely handicapped child who is now 21, disabled and cannot take care of himself, I have also lost two children as well to the same disease he carries "congential myotonic dystrophy"

I prayed 9 months that "booger" would be healthy and when He was born 3 weeks early, gray, not breathing and spent 6 months in the neo-natal intensive care unit and lost half his small bowel to a 580 degree mal-rotation, has had 12 surgeries, 6 blood infections that almost killed him and has struggled almost every day of his life...make no mistake as I have asked numerous times why?

I had moved to change my life, quit drugs, was faithful in church, attending 3 times a week, going to bible college to make up for lost time, giving 25% of my income to my church, teaching, preaching and witnessing to every person I could witness to.....and I did not understand why......I still do not understand why and I would be lying if I did not say that I stumbled in my walk after David Paul was born.....with a broken spirit, broken heart I wept, begged, cried, plead unto the Lord thinking it was my fault....thinking I had done something wrong.....

David Paul loves the Lord, "plays church" knows the way, sings biblical songs and in a strange way has been spared from the world by his disability.....sometimes, yea many times we do not understand, nor will we until the day we stand before the Lord.....

Christ's strength is made complete in our weakness....and he seeks for us to just simply trust him........

More Scripture twisting from Denadii.

Where does the Bible say that God says no to our requests? What a ridiculous question showing a profound misunderstanding of Scripture, and of God.

Note 2 Corinthians 12:8.

For instance.

You know, just keep on reading the given passage, maybe?

But I digress, Denadii sees God as a bellhop who attends his every whim, and if not, He cannot be God because He is not under the control of Denadii. And he has a verse ripped out of context to prove it.

Perhaps share this verse:

For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake. Philippians 1:29

Now here is an answer from a religious nut who does not even know what he's reading. God did not tell Paul NO in that verse at all...Again you spread doctrines of demons preacher4truth. God told Paul very specifically how to take care of the problem, which by the way was revealed here too. What did God say?! He said "My grace, (My empowering PRESENCE) Is enough to do the job. All Paul had to do then was to speak to the problem and it would be gone.
Of course with your religious know it all attitude, you will fight that. Stop listening to doctrines of demons son, and start listening to the Word.

The singer of Mercy Me has a child with some kind of debilitating disease too.

Sometimes we stand till the end...and then others..there's nothing we can do except be strengthened for a trial.

Where did God, just once in the bible say no to someone who needed healing? By Jesus stripes you WERE healed. Believe it!! You have the faith of Jesus. Use it.

Denadii

Do you have the faith to touch a child and he/she be healed?

This is what we need in the body. There are some....but we need the manifested Sons to rise.

And I'm including myself.

Um, to Paul.

That healing isn't referring to physical healing, so in other words, you don't believe it yourself, that is, properly interpreted Scripture. Yes, you deny Scripture only unless you can twist it into your liking.

The healing is from sin, not from physical malady, Isaiah 53 contextually. But you preach a different gospel contrary to the Gospel.
