Exodus 20:12
"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you."
If God is our creator he is our Father. In a household a father has final authority over the mother and the rest of the family. So if God tells you something...You obey it because he's Father and his words are final authority.
1 Peter 5:5
Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “ God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.'
Is father God not our elder? Is he not older than us? Shouldn't we be listening to him?
I'll go even further to say not only can you personally hear from God but you can read his words written in the word of God. So if you read God's word and God's our Father then what he wrote is final authority. Why don't you believe your father?
