I am working on an analogy.

The ancient nation of Israel is the caterpillar and the Church is the butterfly.

Judaizers want Christians to don the shell of the cocoon, and pretend like they are a caterpillar. They claim you must don the shell of the cocoon in order to become fully pleasing in God's sight.

However, they don't don the shell themselves; for instance they don't go up to Jerusalem three times a year for the pilgrimage feasts as the Torah required (Deuteronomy 16:16). They have clever excuses so that they can parse the law down to their own set of rules, but it doesn't fool God. They couldn't keep the Torah even if they wanted to, because there's no Levitical priesthood and no tabernacle/temple.

I suppose dispensationalists would disagree with my analogy because they maintain a Church/Israel distinction but most Judaizers despise dispensationalism :)

My pastor mentioned a title this morning that I think may apply to the Judaizer. It is called Accidental Pharisees by Larry Osborne. I bought it and am going to read it. It talks about how well-meaning zealous people get caught up on nonsense like Judaizing.

And, yes, I bought a book on Sunday. Day and diet rules mean nothing to me. I'm a butterfly not a caterpillar :)

It's a pretty good analogy - Paul called the "law" and rituals "shadows" the reality is in Christ, so the Judaizers are wallowing in the shadows, same with the Hebrew rooters.

I agree as per our earlier conversation sparkman. I have emerged as a butterfly in obedience and love to/for the Lord.

Trotting up to the temple mount in Jerusalem ain't gonna cut it. Hasn't for nearly 2000 years and never will be.

John 4:21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.

Luke 21:6 “As for these things which you are looking at, the days will come in which there will not be left one stone upon another which will not be torn down.”

Are they not back in the land, and some of them ON the temple mount praying? I even saw some sacrifice go down, it was linked in the Rapture thread. They have been doing them since 2014, without a temple for now obviously.

People can trample around the dirt and rocks in Jerusalem all they want - no point to that at all - the promises to Abraham all pointed to the spiritual "land" of spiritual Jerusalem and the temple made without hands.

Heb 11:16 But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.

Read Hebrews regarding Abraham, the physical/natural in the bible all pointed to the spiritual which Christ brought in, God does not go from physical to spiritual then back to physical:

1 Co 15:46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual.

People have their "theology" arse about face.

I am very familiar with this, the amillennial view is similar to this. However you are outside of that orthodoxy by saying death and sin will never be conquered since the world will never end? Is that not the full-preterist position?

As far as I know it is outside of orthodoxy, is there any hope you could correct my misunderstanding if there is such?

PM me if you wish. Let us not take over this thread
