Just wanted everyone to know, that I am still searching for New Archaelogical evidence for the Location of the Second Temple to add to this Thread. In the meantime, here is the best aerial picture of the area.

In this picture directly below that Dome of the Rock, just below that group of trees, you will see a Wall and open courtyard. That is the Wall that the Jews Pray at, which was mis-identified as part of the Western Wall of the Temple. I know we call it the Wailing Wall, but actually Jews take OFFENSE to that title. So to be safe call it either the Western Wall or the Wall where the Jew Pray in Jerusalem. It is in reality part of the Western Wall of Ft. Antonia where as many as 6000 Troops and 4000 Support Personnel of the Roman Army were stationed. This Photo was taken from a helicopter off the Southwest corner of Fort Antonia.

Although modern reconstructions often depict the fortress as having a tower at each of four corners, the historian Josephus repeatedly refers to it as the tower Antonia, and stated that it had been built by John Hyrcanus for storing the vestments used in the Temple.[SUP][1][/SUP] However, Josephus states:

"The general appearance of the whole was that of a tower with other towers at each of the four corners; three of these turrets were fifty cubits high, while that at the south-east angle rose to seventy cubits and so commanded a view of the whole area of the temple."[SUP][2][/SUP]

Some archaeologists are of the opinion that the fortress was only a single tower, located at the south-east corner of the site;[SUP][3][/SUP] for example, Pierre Benoit, former professor of New Testament studies at the École Biblique, having carried out extensive archaeological studies of the site, concurs and adds that there is absolutely no [archaeological] support for there having been four towers.[SUP][4]

Josephus attests to the importance of the Antonia: "For if the Temple lay as a fortress over the city, Antonia dominated the Temple & the occupants of that post were the guards of all three." Josephus placed the Antonia at the northwest corner of the colonnades surrounding the Temple. Modern depictions often show the Antonia as being located along the north side of the temple enclosure. However, Josephus' description of the siege of Jerusalem suggests that it was separated from the temple enclosure itself and probably connected by two colonnades with a narrow space between them. Josephus' measurements suggest about a 600-foot separation between the two complexes.


Why did the two 600-foot aerial bridges disappear from the pages of history? They were mentioned in two 19th-century books written by scholars Lewin, Sanday & Waterhouse, who probably read Josephus in the original Greek, whilst others, later relied on William Whiston, an 18th-century translator. We cannot know if Whiston was influenced by traditional thinking but he probably decided that Josephus had erred when he gave the length of the aerial roadways as a furlong (Stadion), so Whiston used the words “no long space of ground”. War VI, 2, 144


Based upon Jerusalem’s topography and the impossibility of placing Fort Antonia six hundred feet further north of the alleged Temple Mount, Whiston’s translation obscured their existence, although there are ten references in Josephus to these bridges.


Prior to the First Jewish–Roman War, the Antonia housed some part of the Roman garrison of Jerusalem. The Romans also stored the high priest's vestments within the Fortress.
During the defence of Herod’s Temple, supposedly the Jewish fighters demolished the Tower of Antonia. Josephus is adamant the Jews had no chance of destroying a huge Roman fort with 60-foot walls, defended by thousands of Roman troops. It’s the destruction of the two 600-foot aerial bridges that is meant. It fulfilled the prophecy: “When square the walls, the Temple falls.” Roman soldiers then hastened to construct siege banks against the Temple’s north wall. There are number of FACTS that prove the Model of Fort Antonia attached to the Northwest corner of the Temple, is TOTALLY FICTIONAL:

1. The Roman 10th Legion was comprised of about 10,000 Troops and Support Staff. The Model would house only 200-300 personnel, and erroneously places Fort Antonia on the Northwest Corner.

2. Josephus writes that Fort Antonia had Corner Towers, with the Southeast Tower being 70 Cubits (105 ft.) hign, so that Roman Soldiers could look down into the Temple Courtyards to watch for signs of Insurrection. The other three Towers were 50 Cubits (75 ft.) high and the Walls were 60 ft. high. So those Roman Soldiers on Guard Duty in the Southeast Tower were looking slightly southwest, would have the best view of all the Courtyards in Temple Complex. The front door of TEMPLE had to face East and the back of the Temple was set towards the Western Wall, giving the Roman Guards optimal view of all the TEMPLE Courtyards.

3. The Model not only shows the view of the FICTION DEMENTIONS of Fort Antonia, when looking at it from the East, clearly IS WAY TOO SMALL TO HOUSE 10,000 Military Personnel, but it also is FALSELY shown as being attached to the outer Wall of the TEMPLE. Josephus recorded that there were TWO Aerial Roadways (Causways) Six Hundred feet long, leading down to the top of the OUTER WALL of the TEMPLE. Jesephus even records a battle on those two Aerial Roadways where the Romans quelled a Rebellion.

4. I think the piece still sticking out from the South Wall, is one of the Remnants of two Aerial Roadways running over to the top of the TEMPLE Outer Wall. The following picture of that piece was taken from the Southwest Corner and the Second Aerial Roadway would have been closer to that Corner. NOTICE, near that corner, everything above the bottom two or three blocks, was rebuilt recently, which explains why no Remnant of that closer Aerial Roadway remains. Keep in mind that the Jews still think that the foundation of that Corner was the Remnants of the Outer Wall of the TEMPLE, when in Reality you are looking along the South Wall of Fort Antonia.

5. Look again at the TOP PICTURE. This is one that I cannot believe that Jews themselves did not pick up on. That Walled Area that encloses that area of the Old City and Dome of Rock, is VERY OBVIOUSLY RECTANGULAR. The Outer Walls of the TEMPLE formed a PERFECT SQUARE. That means the Dome of the Rock, CLEARY is sitting in the middle of Ft. Antonia, AND it is NOT the Second TEMPLE Mount.

6. That also means if Josephus's measurements are accurate, when you go 600 Feet + about another 269.5 Feet straight South from that Southern Wall, at a point closest to where that Steel Domed Mosque is, you will be standing in the middle of where Solomon's TEMPLE once Stood. That would put it in the shadowed area close to looks like a shadow of the head of the Statue of Liberty in following Picture.

I have used Esword, Quick Verse, BibleSoft, and Logos, but I found them to be somewhat awkward to use, and then I found WORDsearch and it turned out to be WAY EASIER FOR ME TO USE. They have Video Tutorials under the HELP menu, that make it Real Easy to learn the program. Now hear is the good news, they have a FREE VERSION, and it is almost as good as the Paid Version. Yes there are more books and Bibles that come with the Paid Version, but I started out watching for their Sales, and got most of my add-on books for half price. They are not greedy, but the COMMENTARIES the Authors set their own prices, and some are quite greedy, in my opinion. The older books out of Copy Write are free, and they have over 200 of them totally FREE, that you can pick from to add to your library. They mainline Christian books, I do not think they have any Charismatic books, BUT THEY DEFINITELY DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THE WEIRD STUFF like the Preterists. The Publishers are Baptists, but they have books from other mainline denominations, especially non-denominational conservative evangelical Pastors. The good news is there will be no third temple .The veil is rent indicating the Son of man has come in the flesh. The promise that he who has no form would take on the form of man is once. The whole world will revolve around Jerusalem in the Millennium. And
the whole universe will revolve around Jerusalem after the Millennium.

The future temple of which Ezekiel prophesied will have water flowing
out of the altar (Ezekiel 47:1-5). The Fountain of Eternal Life

Ezekiel describes the water flowing eastward from the temple and rising
continually until it becomes a river too large to pass over.This water is a
symbol of something far more powerful that will impact the entire Earth!

God’s Holy Spirit will bring life spiritually (verse 9). Everything will live
as God intended from the beginning. That will impact the entire Earth!

God’s truth will fill the entire world like the ocean beds
are filled with water (Isaiah 11:9; Habakkuk 2:14).

“And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow
all trees for meat … because theirwaters they issued out of the sanctuary: and
the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine” Ezekiel47:12

God’s Holy Spirit will spiritually heal people of human nature and wrongful thinking.
People will also be healed of physical problems, a dual healing, spiritual and physical.

And notice: The water will flow right out of the holy of holies in that millennial temple!
The whole world is going to be healed! “The waters must spring up within the temples
to symbolize the fountain of life that is associated with God’s dwelling in heaven.”

Those waters are a symbol of the fountain of eternal life.

“Ezekiel saw water (spring waters) ushering forth from the holy place that went out
the right side of the altar of burnt offerings and unto the Dead Sea to make those
acrid waters clean and fresh.” There won’t be burnt offerings in Ezekiel’s temple.

The prophecy is talking about the spiritual sacrifices going on at the temple.
examples: 1 Peter 2:5 -Romans 12:1-Psalms 51:17

“In Gilgal, the first site of the tabernacle in the Holy Land, there were the
springs from Jericho that supplied an abundance of water,”

“When the tabernacle was at Shiloh (from the times of Joshua to Samuel), there was
a natural spring that supplied water to the temple, the city, and the surrounding area.”

Jerusalem only has one fresh water source: the Gihon Spring.
This spring must be special to God.

It’s where Zadok anointed Solomon king (1 Kings 1:38-39) Water from the same
spring flowed within the walls of the temples that Solomon and Zerubbabel built.

Josephus wrote , in the tabernacle in the wilderness, the priests in Israel purified
themselves in spring waters. There is always a spring associated with the sanctuary.

David placed the ark of the covenant directly over the Gihon Spring. The ark is a
symbol of God’s throne. The place from which God ruled the Israelites on Earth.

God’s throne on this Earth was right over the Gihon Spring!

“David also made it clear that there was a fountain, or a spring, within the precincts
of the holy temple in heaven, and there was also a fountain (a spring) positioned in
the replica of God’s house in Jerusalem.

David related these things in his psalms, when the ‘house of the Lord’ was reckoned
to be the tent of the ark located at the Gihon Spring. That special sanctuary for the
ark remained at the Gihon for 38 years.”

Psalm 68:24, 26 read, “They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God,
my King, in the sanctuary. … Bless ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, from
the fountain of Israel.” God’s sanctuary was by a spring. The blessings came from
the fountain of Israel. That’s where the sanctuary was.

“The earthly symbol for this fountain was the Gihon Spring.”

Eusebius Aristeas described the temple before the first coming of Christ: “There is
an inexhaustible reservoir of water, as would be expected from anabundant spring
gushing up naturally from within.” Aristeasstated the Gihon Spring was the only
spring within five miles of Jerusalem. The location of the spring made Jerusalem
the site of the earliest settlement in the area.

Both Aristeas and Tacitus state clearly there was a natural spring within the precincts
of the temple. Accounts and the geographical facts of the area disqualify the Dome of
the Rock as being the site of the temples of Solomon and Zerubbabel.

Isaiah 8:5-6 speak of “the waters of Shiloah that go softly,”meaning water from the Gihon
Spring. This probably is a referenceto the Siloam Channel. It is all a type of God’s Work

Isaiah 12:3 talks about the “water … of the wells of salvation.”The spring is a symbol
of the very salvation of GOD bubbling up from His throne! God is “the fountain of living
waters” (Jeremiah 17:13).

The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing. (Isaiah 14:7)

All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name.
Psalms 66:4 -God has spoken it, and He is not one to go back on His word (Isaiah 55:11).

The Prophet Ezekiel wrote of a coming time, now just ahead, when a river will flow out
of God’s millennial headquarters in Jerusalem, heading east into the Jordan Valley.


That pure river, the prophet said, will heal the contaminated waters of the Dead Sea,
making them fresh and pure! Fishermen will line the shores of the once infamous sea,
filling their nets with fish. Fruit trees of every kind will grow along the riverbanks,
producing fruit every month (read Ezekiel 47).


God says He will restore life and abundance to this millennia-old, uninhabitable,
barren wasteland called the .the Dead Sea, or did that happen yet?
