Sometimes we can go into so much depth and learning of scriptures that we forget our first love! I've seen some complex statements and arguments over certain aspects of scriptures and yet, without love, everything we have learnt and know is nothing. All the years of knowledge will die with us if we have no love!
I think it is a good idea to step back a bit before answering so we can answer to build faith rather then tear apart the little faith some may have.
Clearly we all start from knowing not a lot, and the Holy Spirit starts revealing things to us. We then look again at what we have known as we have had new revelation onto it! This is natural.

As a Christian we are signposts to the lost, pointing towards the way, Jesus Christ.

It is funny that we sometimes become like my local council who put so many "Do not" signs up on a main signpost, one puzzles what one is allowed to do! We can become like that sometimes when we go into too much depth when some are not ready to swim without armbands!

All we need is to point to Jesus!

1 Corinthians 13:8-13
Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for languages, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

13So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Hi CG,

Is this what you're talking about?

Revelation 2:2-7
I know your deeds and your toil and perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate evil men, and you put to the test those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and you found them to be false; and you have perseverance and have endured for My name’s sake, and have not grown weary. But I have this against you, that you have left your first love.

Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place—unless you repent. Yet this you do have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.’
