You said you quit cold turkey. Yup. You've got strong will. When you quit, what did you tell yourself then? Was it "Never again?" Was it "For X number of years?" Is there a third choice I don't know? (Honest questions.)
And, now that you've picked it up again, is it "when I want to," or is it, "when I need to" or "when I have no other choice?"
Truthful, I could care less about how willed you are. We are all sinners saved by God, not saved by our wills. And we weren't saved by our wills because we have the same tract records -- "failed at will." Either we will to do something or we don't. And if we do will it then we have the cancellation clause in large print -- "When I want to" -- staring right in our face as the exit strategy, if our wills fail, yet again.
Are you a drunk? Nope. Not unless you're lying, and it sure doesn't sound like you are. Does that matter? Apparently to you. Will you become a drunk? No idea. But, considering this all comes down to your will and what you want, instead of God's will and what he wants, does that matter either?
You absolutely know why you wrote that first post. Page 4, post 88, and what are you doing? You're defending yourself, instead of asking what God's will is.
Good quote you have there --
“There's a way to preach the Bible unbiblically...You can use the Bible as the springboard for all kinds of ideas, can't you? Look around in here and find something that fits your fancy and then launch a rocket off it. People say, 'That was amazing, wasn't it? Remarkable what he got out of that.' Well of course it is, because he put it in before he got it out.”
