GOD IS A GIVER, NOT A TAKER[/h][HR][/HR]
Some Christians mistakenly believe that God gives and also takes away. At funerals, we sometimes hear the minister say, “The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

I remember an occasion when I was looking at a baby who was suffering from cancer. I heard one of his family members comment, “You can’t be sure what God’s will is. He may or may not heal.” What that person meant was that although the Lord had given the parents this baby, He might later take the baby away from them.

Job displayed this very same attitude when he received the news that he had lost his property and children. Thinking that God was the source of his problems and not knowing that it was actually Satan who had come against him, he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” (Job 1:21) Such a statement seems to honor God, but in reality, it reveals an erroneous view of our heavenly Father.

As children of God, we know what the Father’s will is for us. He is a giver, not a taker! Jesus said, “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32) It is the devil who is the thief. He comes to steal, kill and destroy. But Jesus came to give us life more abundant. (John 10:10)

Jesus met every need and healed every sickness brought before Him, and at the cross, He gave His own life. Never once did He take anything away from the people who came to Him. And the Bible says that whoever has seen Jesus has seen the Father. (John 14:9)

Beloved, your heavenly Father wants you to know today that He is the one who gives you all good things. And if He has already given us heaven’s best—Jesus, “how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things”?

I was once just like Job when it came to my thoughts about God's nature. In my desire and good intention to understand how God could be sovereign and in control I had to (reason out for myself) why if God was good and loving and in control., how come so many good people and babies were dying and sick?? That had to mean He did it since He is in control. But I was deceived by the deceiver.

I'm so thankful today there is no confusion in my mind anymore about the goodness and steadfastness of God in Christ. That He is not a God who changes. There is no "shadow of turning" with Him. He is not evil one day and kind another day. He is always the same and wants us to count on His goodness so we can always have a certain and sure expectation of goodness coming from Him at all times.

I realize not every believer has this. And even many believers will be annoyed at this. Many have taken the words of Job as an interpretation of who God is. Job was voicing his own ideas of God and there are times in the Bible when men and woman say things about God that are their own ideas that have been recorded. We have to allow the Word of God by the Holy Spirit to rightly divide and interpret these verses in light of the other Bible verses about the goodness and security in God.

Jesus is the Good Shepherd who gave His life for the sheep. He is the One who always leads us beside the still waters. If we don't get to the still waters it isn't because He wanted us to go elsewhere. We deal with the world., the flesh and the devil. They are always going to try and sway us to go "elsewhere"

The Bible is clear who the one is who seeks to kill us..., steal from us.... and destroy us. It is not God., it is the devil. He is the father of lies and the lie about God sending evil our way is a biggie. The Bible says goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. Those other things that are evil do not come from God but from the accuser of the brethren.

Sometimes what we perceive as bad is God's good for us. It can be very confusing when you totally believe in God's protection and healing without doubt. And you have always believed that Satan cannot touch you because you have been "lifted out of the powers of darkness", and you are also in Christ (therefor untouchable by the enemy). Then all of a sudden you are "hit" from behind - taken unawares - almost feel betrayed since you are the one who teaches all of this. Your faith is strong. What is this?

I've learned that when He allows sickness into a life, He also GIVES grace to endure and GIVES many manifestations of His love and care. He GIVES comfort that you could not receive unless He allowed you to suffer.

Even in the midst of sickness, mercy and goodness still follows me all the days of my life.

What I perceived as evil or bad has brought about a change in my heart towards others who are suffering. God knew this in advance. A new compassion that only the "bad" could bring about. Who would question that God wasn't behind this when I look at the fruits.

Maybe that is why we are told to give thanks FOR all things. Because as a child of Gods, our lives are planned out by our Father. What we are to experience and go through (even the suffering) because of what fruits will come forth from it.

Joseph smith was a false teacher & a heretic.

This is why we NEVER quote anything written by Joseph Smith, because nothing good can come from him, even if it sounds good & right.

It's a good practice to stay away from false teachers, because the Bible tells us to do so.

Joseph Prince is the author of hypergrace, or easy believism as we know it. He says God showed him this in 1997.

Prince also teaches the Prosperity Doctrine & has admitted to being WOF.

Since this is true because he confesses it, why is it ok to post what one heretic says, & not the other?

Why can't we just eat the meat of what is taught, and throw away what we perceive to be bones?

He is not denying Jesus came in flesh.

Feed unboned fish & chicken to a baby, & see what happens.

If you did this in the flesh to a baby, he would choke to death, & you would go to prison for manslaughter.

What would you think God would do to someone who spiritually killed one of His babies?

That post would only feed babies the love God has for His children. I think the Lord is well able to deal with heresy Stephen. And I've seen Him judge ministries..am sure you have too.

That's trusting Him.

Plus, I was writing to you and I don't consider you a babe at all.

God gives us the choice of what to do with heresy. It's the church's job to judge righteously.

If God dealt out all false doctrine, The BDF would be the nicest, most holy of CC's forums.;)

Well, this isn't a church Stephen. A forum for anyone. Respect for others would go a long way towards be a "nice" forum.

Plus, if there is heresy...wouldn't it be better to counter with truth? From the scriptures I mean.

No, this isn't the church. This is "supposed" to be a christian chat site, designed for christians.

No, this is by no means the church, but the church is in it.

If you look at the rules, heresy isn't allowed to be promoted as truth
.(at least I think it says that)

it mostly boils down to 'tolerance' and 'forgiveness'...Two of Jesus' greatest lessons
for all of us - not to mention that no matter where we are in our lives, we have
'choices', and most of them will be wrong, without our Saviour at the helm...

growing in Grace and Godly character is a very big challenge for all of us who
desire to leave our old-ways behind and seek our Heavenly Father and His Ways...

Phil.1:6 Being confident of this very thing., He who has begun a good work in you will perform it till the day of Jesus Christ.

[SUP]6 [/SUP]I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].

Life is full of a million zillion trillion unanswered questions and circumstances. From the Grand Canyon and all those similar places to even unseen places., to all the oceans and all the many years and the rocks and plants and people and life and death and angels and principalities and powers., things present and things yet to come or things that were in the past we never knew about..... the truth for us Christians has to stand., nothing can or shall separate us from the love of God in Christ.

Romans 8:38
[SUP]37 [/SUP]Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. [SUP]38 [/SUP]For I am convinced [and continue to be convinced—beyond any doubt] that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, [SUP]39 [/SUP]nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Each day in I'm learning to have a joyful expectation of good from God in Christ. Death with all it's attached ugliness and limitations I'm convinced do not come from God but from sin in a fallen world. God does not call good - evil and call evil - good. This I also have been learning. He is not the God of confusion.

The world and the flesh and the devil cause confusion. Jesus came to defeat all those things and He did what He came to do. He uses those things that come into our lives but He doesn't cause them to come. How and why they come is different for each individual.

Many verses in the Bible talk about how His grace is made perfect in our weakness. How that occurs in each one of our lives shows out differently. None of us can answer for someone else. No matter how big the principalities or powers or things present or past., fears or pains in life., none of those things can separate us from the love of God in Christ.
He gets us through to the other side.

To dare to believe He loves us even for today right where we stand even now. So that the words of the Bible come true in our lives that we love God because He first loved us. To know the love of God in Christ and to actively depend on it. His grace (unmerited unearned love and favor) teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts., to live soberly righteously and Godly in the present age. Titus 2:12

[SUP]11 [/SUP]For the grace of God [SUP][a][/SUP]hath appeared, bringing salvation to all men, [SUP]12 [/SUP]instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present [SUP][b][/SUP]world; [SUP]13 [/SUP]looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory [SUP][c][/SUP]of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; [SUP]14 [/SUP]who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works.

Hmm! More heresy from the master himself, Joseph Prince! I thought there was a sticky about not allowing his false brand of the gospel in this forum?

Hypergrace is false, Word Faith is a lie from the devil, and this entire devotional is a piece of junk. Sorry, it upsets me when people say all we need to do is come to Jesus and be healed. Because, sometimes our souls need to be healed more than our bodies. And sometimes, God uses our weak bodies, our thorns in the flesh, to make us more dependent upon him, and to help us grow into the kind of people he wants us to be.

Shallow, and false garbage, Joseph Prince, hypergrace and the whole Word of Faith lie!

[for me anyway] the Lord gives, but the Lord also takes away: and for us, whether He gives us, or takes away from us, our conclusion should always be the same, namely, Blessed be the Name of the Lord.

This is just pure garbage and just represents a malice-filled thought life towards those that have a different view on some areas of truth than others do - such as healing.

They disagree that the Lord wants to heal us and thus they think it is their duty to slander and exhibit malice towards those in the body of Christ that do believe God's heart is for His children to be well - just like any good moral parent would have.

People are free to believe what they choose but let's not slander those in the body of Christ that have a different opinion on these subjects.

One could equally say that all women that teach men are in heresy and is a complete lie. I have heard others say that because it conflicted with their beliefs about woman pastors. ( Personally I don't believe that )

Then we could speak this out each time a woman tries to teach or says that they are a pastor and thus slander the woman and be filled with malice towards her.

1 Peter 2:1-2 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]
Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander,

[SUP]2 [/SUP] like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,
