Just curious? Has anyone ever been in a Church where there is confusion? Little organized control, little Pastoral oversight, free teaching even if it conflicts with Scripture or is in disagreement with other teachers? I would certainly welcome the feedback.
Thanks

I've been to several churches like that. Such chaos happen when carnal Christians take the lead.

We are reading through 1 Timothy right now, which has everything to do with church organization, purpose, and what is expected and required within the church structure (not the building but the hierarchy for lack of a better word) of spiritual leaders and teachers. At first I was thinking I want to go to church to hear the gospel message, but it all comes back to Jesus and what He did for us, so that is not neglected after all :) My church is fairly wonderful :D

Sure, and I walked out before the end of the service.

Still another question, I have known these people for over 20 years. Held meetings here. It was not always this way. The pastor is 74 and sickly. I really feel we're in Gods will. But, can they be salvaged? At this ooint, I wonder?

Magenta, I totaly agree. I've been in some great places of worship myself. Just find myself here by thje leading of the Lord. Agree with you on the Book of 1 Timothy. Think there is a chance to salvage something from the wreckage here? I know snapjudgements are hhard without a full picture.

I'm still trying to figure this out. I don't know if my reply to you posted. I've known these people a long time. 20 yrs. It hasn't always been this way. Just wondering if the tide can be changed,

Sure......I went to one....had people taking phone calls, one guy sitting on the ground playing with his kid and little cars, people walking around, a 20 minute pep speech with about as much of the word as a menu at McDonalds and more plans for a big screen, popcorn fest to watch some professional sports game that would eventually be on.........NOTE....went once and only once!

Almost every church I've ever been to.

The first church I went to after being saved was uncomfortable. It was a very small congregation, half old people and a few kids with their parents. The pastor invited an African up to speak, and he came out with garbage saying that God made a mistake choosing Israel and that it was a kind of beta test and that it doesn't count any more. I walked out after that when they started singing.

I've been to others where there were confussion. The hard question I keep asking mysel is whether or not I can help them. A quandry indeed. Was quandry spelled right?

There's alway hope, Pen.

Pray and ask God if you can be part of the solution. :) Do others see what you're seeing? I don't mean as a thing for gossip, but as a desire for change?

Why do you feel you're in God's will?

TO be honest, it would seem they placed their trust in the Pastor and not the True Shepherd.

DesertRose, It is one of those places where everyone else sees the circumstances and problems of others. "And every man is right in his own eyes." It wasn't always this way. If you only knew how bad we would like to go somewhere else. But at this time, the spirit compels us to stay.

I just tghink to much liberty has been allowed. Pastor says thats the way he wants it. To much liberty in my opinion, leads to too much confusion.

The first and only positive solution.
