Greetings Kavik,

I don't want to 'hijack' the thread, but this sort of got me thinking - how do you account for the many Marian apparitions such as what occurred at Fatima, Portugal?

I'd be interested in serious answers - how is it accounted for?
"And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light."

What better way to lead people astray, then for a fallen angel to appear as Mary in order to mislead people into praying to her.

One of the Lords disciples asked him to teach them to pray as John taught his disciples. Jesus told them, When you pray, say: Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen

In my country, some people pray to the death, my frien inlaw family doing Tobaco bussiness. In the harvest season, the Price of tobaco is low, is time to buy, keep It for view month, than sale when the price up. But some time the price not up or, Rotten

one of his uncle is very good to see the quality of tabaco. Is this tabaco Will rotten or not

than he die

every harves season, my friend in law pray to his death uncle in his grave, she bring a food, and incense

and his uncle come in a vision, tell her what to do.

one day, a Christian tell her, It is not you death uncle. It is demon pretend to be your uncle. She did not believe, she has been doing this for same time and her death uncle always give good answered.
they come to conduct join investigation. They go to the grave together. She start to pray, and her uncle show up, than the Christian Said, in the name of Jesus, show WHO you real y are. Than his uncle turn to a dragon. The Christian Said, in the name of Jesus, I command you go away. Than the dragon disappear.

If you pray to the death, the devil may come to you pretend to be Mary or your death granpha etc to Cheating you

Why would God allow such extraordinary thing?

I would guess the explanation can be more natural... like a mass hysteria?

For ages have not people witnessed ghosts? Professed to see aliens? Seen Mary, the mother of Jesus, appearing in a certain locations? What do all of these do? Contradict God's word, and put into question the afterlife of death and then judgement. Its a tool of the enemy to make people believe a lie instead of the truth of God's word. Its deception, a fog to blur the lines of reality confusing people with their experience in opposition to what the Lord says.

That should not be too difficult. Scripture says that Satan appears as an angel of light, so there is no problem for him creating apparitions of Mary.

Back to the question. Who died for your sins and rose again for your justification? And who taught you to pray to the Father, through the Son, and by the Spirit?

The real Mary must be extremely unhappy about all this idolatry, and were she to visit the earth, she would destroy the Vatican along with the apostle Peter.

It mean it takes a lot of effort to purge a belief system.
I think it takes repentance. And by that, I mean Biblical repentance... "changing your mind, and deciding to travel a different path".... NOT simply the emotionalism of feeling sorry about something.

That's exactly what happens to people who try to summon their dead relatives by talking to this famous medium. The guy claims to talk to people's loved ones and Catholic saints that appear to him too. He's written a few books and has people pay for meetings with their dead loved ones and even gives courses on how to be a medium. People have tried to tell him that the Bible denounces mediums and talking to the dead, but he just dismisses those people as not understanding.

I wish he would meet a Christian that would show him who those apparitions really are, like the Christian your friend met. In the midst of a large meeting with his gullible, unknowing followers would be even better, for all of their sake.

Anyway...yeah. Don't pray to the dead...

and was bodily assumed to heaven. Those are extra Biblical teachings promoted by the heretical church known as the RCC (Roman Catholic church) and in fact it is one of two ex cathedra dogmas that are mandatory for the unsuspecting, uninformed, and gullible Catholic to accept and believe as true.

The Bible can not be used to confirm that Mary never died
A Catholic can either believe that she died or did not die. Personally, I believe that she did die and then was assumed into Heaven.

and was bodily assumed to heaven.
There is evidence that it was alluded to.

But how can you judge something to be heretical or not?

Scripture is clear in that we should pray to the Father in the name of His Son Jesus. He is the One who shed his blood for all believers and is the One who is sitting at the right hand of the Father making intercession for all believers.
Catholics believe in this and do not deny it. It is part of Catholic teaching.

Mary, though a blessed woman to bring our Lord into the world, was in need of a savior like the rest of us.
Catholics believe this as well. Blessed Mary is a creature not the Creator, thus, she is not God. Catholics and Non-Catholics believe this.

She was not born immaculate i.e. without sin

  • Lk 1:28 – hail full of grace[highly favored] Lord is with you
  • Lk 1:30 – you have found favor with God
  • Lk 1:37 – for with God nothing shall be impossible
  • Gn 3:15 – complete enmity between woman & Satan, sin
  • Ex 25:11-21 – ark made of purest gold for God’s word
she is not a mediator
In what way?

She cannot forgive sins.
Catholics believe that she cannot forgive sins. We are on the same page here.

Christ alone, whom the Father sent, is our salvation.
A big Catholic AMEN to that.

Praying to Mary is a dishonor to Jesus.
How?

Blessings

I know that she was being facetious but why would it be wrong to ask a brother in Christ, in Heaven, to pray for you? Do we not all belong to the One Body of Christ? Does it matter if we are in Heaven or on Earth?

Hello everyone,
I have a question about prayers. Can a Christian pray Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, or should we address our prayer only to God?
I'm a protestant but... I'm pretty attached to Mary, she's like a mother for Christians and I feel weird since I've stopped praying her. That's why I'm confused.

Thanks for your attention ^-^
Jesus taught pray to the Father and true worshipers worship the Father.

In regarding to the mediator, the scriptures is clear as to who our only mediator is in 1 Timothy 2:5 - For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,

There are no priest, saints nor pope mediators

No we are not to pray to Mary as it is making her a god. Mary is not a god and she is not God. As Mary was only a carrier of Jesus Christ, as faithful to the calling that she was, she was not God or Gods mother. Jesus is God even before he was born. He did come as a human form and Mary was chosen to be the lady who gave birth to Jesus Christ. Mary was a virgin. It takes a miracle for a virgin to give birth! To prove that Mary was a virgin take a look how Joseph who was engaged to Mary was going to break off the engagement after he found out she was pregnant, and it was an angel of the Lord who made him change his mind!

The lies pale beside the Truth, and are exposed for the heresies they are. The RCC does much to exalt and venerate and elevate Mary while Jesus contradicted the woman who tried to say Mary was blessed for having given birth to and nursed Him. The RCC promotes Mary as sinless and virginal all her life while it would have been a sin for her to withhold marital relations from her husband. Not to mention the fact that two of Jesus' brothers have books in the Bible, plus other brothers and sisters are mentioned as well, which Catholic apologists try to cover up by saying they were the cousins of Jesus as if there is no word for cousin when there is. Instructing people to pray to Mary when Jesus instructed us to pray to the Father is something that Catholic apologists on this site lie about also.
