Disclaimer: This poll is for my desire to know where the CC members stack up. It is not just so I can see the majority opinion and change mine to match it. I provide this disclaimer because someone else complained earlier about my use of polls.

Should we all build a parapet around our house and take care what fabrics we wear in our clothes?

The parapet is regarding the roofs of houses, and it is required in the old testament. It is my personal belief that roofs that are made for hanging out on, should have a parapet. And I'm fairly certain that is required in the building codes, which are the international building codes, and therefore must certainly apply in your extremely restrictive country.

The fabrics are old testament.

It is the new testament that states those requirements for women in church.

I suspect that long hair may suffice for the ladies. And so this is a subject that I am interested in the opinions of others on. Maybe I'm wrong and it should just be YES?

Give me a break! Another thread on a subject that has been done to death. Another poll and yes,at least you put your intent on this one. Im waiting to see you post something that really matters, like sharing the Gospel,or missionaries, rather than just subjects that cause arguments.

You know my sister is headed to Africa right now.She goes to minister to the missionaries there. This will be her second visit and she was saying that when she talked with missionaries one on one they said that coming home was one of the most disheartening and stressful things for them because the churches were in turmoil and fighting about things that don't matter. The things that they see, and then come home to see church people arguing over which music is best to sing. What are we doing for the cause of Christ,to share the Gospel to a dying world? These threads annoy me so much. They get so much gas and mean nothing to a lost dying world. So disappointing.

You know, it's strange. America, land of Hollywood, sending missionaries to Africa. Africa had the gospel back around 100AD. And Europeans (Americans?) have been "helping" Africa for such a long time. From what I understand, African Christians need to send their missionaries to America.

I think the United Church of Christ thinks they "spread the gospel". What gospel is there to spread if you preach Jesus, and then disobedience and contempt for the rest of the Bible?

Actually, what motivated this thread was a comment from kilden. I found myself thinking that certain of the females on this board are eager to be nasty, bossy, and call names. I found myself thinking of the New Testament woman. And etc.

I thought you were smarter than to call something like this subject you posted, "important."

I have often wondered about this very same thing over the years
Im not sure what the write answer Is
I also think women should dress modestly
as not to cause our brothers to stumble
and like wise a man should dress modestly
not to cause his sisters to stumble
I have long hair and most likely I will never cover my head
Im not sure If Im wrong but would love to see what others think

To me, intentional disobedience which aligns with modern western society and is contemptuous of the Bible..it is "important" to me. I understand now that other opinions on this site may vary.

The timeline was simple for the 20th centruy.
#1 Women's "equality" (in appearances)..
#2 Divorce and remarriage permitted
#3 Women preachers in church
#4 Homosexuality

And this in the country that sends missionaries to the world to "help" them with the gospel..

It is my belief that the right answer is simple. It is in the Bible. The Bible is not going to mesh with modern western society.
God made a difference between men and women, physically, and as regards authority. If you read about the illuminatus, you will find proof that in the 18th century, they planned to use women to overthrow the natural order, by working on their pride. Men and women are not interchangeable. Men should look like men and women like women. The Bible makes different rules for men and women, in church, to signify this. The modern western culture goes directly opposite. Ask the communists and western heathen how offensive these Biblical mandates are, and then it will be easy to see how Christians should feel about it. As aforementioned, I like to believe that long hair suffices, but I may be wrong. One thing is for certain, a short haired lady in a pantsuit preaching at church is an abomination.

So you blew past everything I said,no surprise. There are people all over the world that do not have the Gospel, inside and outside of America. Are you saying that these missionaries, dedicating their lives to go and fulfill the great commission are doing so for no reason? You think Africa does not need the Gospel? Are you against missions? What have you done to dedicate your life to spreading the Gospel?

Another crazy theory, Paul wrote a letter to the church of Corinth, because Paul established that church, for what ever reason the church was allowing something to take place in that church, possibly the women in that church were creating havoc or something.

But that is no reason to include all women of the earth, Paul was addressing his letter to that church not the whole earth and all woman.

Do you believe women should always wear dresses or skirts?

Only the women? You noticed the women weren't in line. Perhaps you'd get along well with Zen,he has no problem with hitting a woman. I didn't notice women calling you names and bossing you.

I'd say for starters, that many in America who think they are qualified to preach are NOT. And that this forum shows that perfectly.
And that African Christians have higher standards than American ones. And that I think we need some African missions to America. And that I am against Americans watching Hollywood, and then spreading "the gospel" to other countries. And that a sick patient needs to be quarantined. And that you are one of the last people I would feel obligated to defend my beliefs, based upon what you write and how you interact on this site. I hope that answers the questions.
