Well if a christian does attend a protest at lease preach the gospel or bring a sign saying to repent & accept Christ. I've seen street preachers attend rallies, parades and protest preaching the gospel. However attending protests just to support worldly causes does nothing to lead the lost to Christ.

No, for your claim that protesting is evil. Declaring protesting as partaking in the world is a subjective statement based on your opinion, not on a valid scriptural basis. But then again, i've read your blogs, so i'm not surprised.

No, seriously dude. No Christian is being deluded by hate or violence.

The delusion is that "christians have been misled to do hatred & violence throughout history and it is still going on today. It does not mean they are not christians, but it does mean that they are not rooted in His words to be abiding in Him as His disciples."
I point out the crusades where they gave out a call for christians to rally as God's army to take back Jerusalem from the muslims.

I also point out the Catholic vs Protestant skirmishes in Ireland.. the IRA.. the terrorist group.. not the retirement account....and those who fight against the IRA that are not of the government to do that.

There are others... and that is the sad reality of it that saved believers can go astray in thinking they are going God's service in killing others but John 16:1-3 says otherwise.

John 16:1
These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.[SUP] 2 [/SUP]They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.[SUP] 3 [/SUP]And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

Well, other than the fact that the Crusades were 1000 years ago, and the religion was Catholic, do you know what the real motivation behind taking back Jerusalem was?

Eschatology!

That's right, end times!

And people wonder why I hate those who say we are already in the end times, Jesus is going to return any minute BECAUSE of the signs.

Well, the Catholic Church read the signs, and apparently it was a MILLENNIUM (read Rev. 20 ONLY!) since Christ went into heaven. So, if Jesus was going to return, better have the Mount of Olives free for him to return on. And so, the Crusades began. To prepare for Jesus, like he couldn't have taken back the Mount of Olives in a second, or sent 12 legions of angels to do it!

"Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?" Matt 26:53

A legion apparently having 6000 soldiers, according to my study Bible!

Anyway, after the nonsense in the 80's with Jesus returning in 1988, and then Hagee last year with blood moons, and I saw an article on FB with 8 theologians (totally unknown to me!) predicting Jesus imminent return on August 21 with the eclipse of the sun, do people ever learn their lessons?

Seriously, history has always had issues! And Christians have made mistakes! I certainly agree we should not be involved in violence of this sort and I hate racism, but lately, the rhetoric and violence of the left is also an issue.

Except, we don't have these problems in Canada, and we are probably less Christian. These race issues have a long history in the US, and it is something we do not have in our history. Hence, less racism handed down! Nothing to do with Christian or not!

So, the only thing to do is to read our Bible, and be bold witnesses that Jesus came to save, and to give us freedom and to break down walls between races, ethnicities and to share the love of God, which is the only source of love, with the lost!

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

I thank you for sharing, but I am not really sure eschatology was responsible for the cause for the crusades, but if you can point to a source on that on the internet, that would be informative. Thanks.

As it is, Jesus's call to always be ready is not to be ignored, but set dates and times, those can be ignored. He can come at any time... when you least expect it, and so I pray & hope in Him that He has me ready as abiding in Him as His disciple as well as willing to go. I do hope in His mercy.

Recent news of riots in Virginia. There is a state of emergency now after someone plowed a car intentionally into the crowd of anti-protesters; those against those protesting the removal of the statue of Robert E. Lee. One person was killed and 19 injured.

Anyway, the spirit of patriotism is not in alignment with the Spirit of Christ when applied to rioting.

Just for information to all that read this thread. Here is a little American history related to the statue of Robert E Lee on his horse. If people knew the real reason for the provoking actions by the Federal Government that cause the southern states secede from the union, henceforth leading to the “Civil War” (uncivil as it was). The Union Army, under the direction of Abraham Lincoln blockaded the South Carolina shore at Fort Sumter. The reason for this was to collect tariffs (taxes) from exports going to England. South Carolina refused, The government blockaded, and then the guns from South Carolina’s militia fired their cannons on the fort.

The Emancipation Proclamation was written and delivered 2 years later in 1863, two years after the firing on Ft. Sumter. It was directed only toward the rebellious states. Therefore, the Civil War didn’t start over slavery, it started over the feds wanting money to subsidize industry in the north-eastern United States. Slavery was not the reason for this war. In fact Grant and other Union soldiers had slaves.

Know that the government is continuing to do the same thing as it was back in 1861.The issue of slavery is actually a purposeful detour from the real truth. If one thinks that Robert E Lee was fighting to maintain slavery they're wrong.

Robert E. Lee letter dated December 27, 1856:

I was much pleased the with President's message. His views of the systematic and progressive efforts of certain people at the North to interfere with and change the domestic institutions of the South are truthfully and faithfully expressed. The consequences of their plans and purposes are also clearly set forth. These people must be aware that their object is both unlawful and foreign to them and to their duty, and that this institution, for which they are irresponsible and non-accountable, can only be changed by them through the agency of a civil and servile war. There are few, I believe, in this enlightened age, who will not acknowledge that slavery as an institution is a moral and political evil. It is idle to expatiate on its disadvantages. I think it is a greater evil to the white than to the colored race. While my feelings are strongly enlisted in behalf of the latter, my sympathies are more deeply engaged for the former. The blacks are immeasurably better off here than in Africa, morally, physically, and socially. The painful discipline they are undergoing is necessary for their further instruction as a race, and will prepare them, I hope, for better things. How long their servitude may be necessary is known and ordered by a merciful Providence. Their emancipation will sooner result from the mild and melting influences of Christianity than from the storm and tempest of fiery controversy. This influence, though slow, is sure. The doctrines and miracles of our Saviour have required nearly two thousand years to convert but a small portion of the human race, and even among Christian nations what gross errors still exist! While we see the course of the final abolition of human slavery is still onward, and give it the aid of our prayers, let us leave the progress as well as the results in the hands of Him who, chooses to work by slow influences, and with whom a thousand years are but as a single day. Although the abolitionist must know this, must know that he has neither the right not the power of operating, except by moral means; that to benefit the slave he must not excite angry feelings in the master; that, although he may not approve the mode by which Providence accomplishes its purpose, the results will be the same; and that the reason he gives for interference in matters he has no concern with, holds good for every kind of interference with our neighbor, -still, I fear he will persevere in his evil course. . . . Is it not strange that the descendants of those Pilgrim Fathers who crossed the Atlantic to preserve their own freedom have always proved the most intolerant of the spiritual liberty of others?

I disagreed with what President Trump remarks. I observed the Neo-Nazis, KKK, and other white male extremists provoking and inciting a riot by chatting sinful racial slurs of hate, while others in the same group were wearing bullet proof vests and carrying military assault weapons for intimidation. Whenever discord is being sown to cause others to stumble, sometimes you will have strife and conflict. These proud look of men (idolatry) that shredded innocent blood, are an abomination to the LORD. Proverbs 6:16-19, Gal. 5:19-26

He that digs a pit shall fall into it; and whosoever breaks through a wall, a serpent shall bite him. Ecclesiastes 10:8 NKJV (In other words, when the hedge comes down, the serpent will bite)

Eschatology probably explains Phantom Time, but it doesn't totally explain the Crusades. The Templar Knights got their start trying to make a safe road for pilgrimages to Jerusalem. Whether or not they thought they could hurry Jesus's return, they did genuinely want to make Palestine safer for Christian travel and research.

Thank you all for sharing.

It should not be a mystery why we should not love this world for there can be no perfect system when sinners are running it. Like little children, they will push the boundaries and even break them to see what they can get away with, but we are to suffer such grief and let them get away with it.

James 4:1From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?[SUP] 2 [/SUP]Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.[SUP] 3 [/SUP]Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.[SUP] 4 [/SUP]Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.[SUP] 5 [/SUP]Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?[SUP] 6 [/SUP]But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.[SUP] 7 [/SUP]Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.[SUP] 9 [/SUP]Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.[SUP]10 [/SUP]Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

We are not suffer grief from our employers that rips us off as we receive these words of encouragement.

James 5:1Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.[SUP] 2 [/SUP]Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.[SUP] 3 [/SUP]Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.[SUP] 4 [/SUP]Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.[SUP] 5 [/SUP]Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.[SUP] 6 [/SUP]Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.[SUP] 7 [/SUP]Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.[SUP] 9 [/SUP]Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.[SUP] 10 [/SUP]Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.[SUP]11 [/SUP]Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

I need the Lord every moment to forgive them for they know not what they do and I should KNOW that vengeance belongs to the Lord and so unless they repent, they are going to get it... even christians that run the way the world does in defrauding others that refuse to repent.... because they love money more than God.

But that is not to say that God is unable to save any from their sins that want to repent, and for help not to do that again.

Probably why we need even His help to pray for our enemies. I know I am lacking in that area. I hope He will help me to do that.
