I haven't been on this site in a very long time.

But I see the same people making the same argument, the same ways, and the same attitudes towards others.

What will you say to the Lord about these 3 years?

What Fruit has this brought you?

A man convinced of his will is of the same opinion still

Some people have unrealistic expectations.

This is just a chat, internet discussions. Its in our free time. Instead of watching TV or gardening we are discussing the Bible.

It does not have to change us drastically or lead dozens of atheists to repentance.

Regarding me, I have learned to discuss without emotions and concentrate on the subject better. I also learned to better formulate my views, some new names of my views :))) and many other things.

I also learned my own views better (because I needed deeper, better arguments).

I also learned much new information when discussing, because I frequently need to go to Greek or the first church documents etc.

I also practice my English (theological and vocabulary) and Bible knowledge. When some topics return, its a learning by repeating to me.

always fun to see people come back with "i must be thinking I am more holy" - no just convinced that life isn't an argument with the same person over and over again. But you do you.

I've learned something very important since I've took my stand against false preaching/teaching.

Many folks don't know what doctrine in the discussion is correct, or whether either one is correct.

I've learned when folks can't be swayed by the simplicity of the truth, another approach must be taken to expose the false teachers/preachers..... aannd, yes we are to expose them.

Ephesians 5:11
New International Version
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

New Living Translation
Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.

English Standard Version
Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

New American Standard Bible
Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;

Proverbs 13:16
New International Version
All who are prudent act with knowledge, but fools expose their folly.

New Living Translation
Wise people think before they act; fools don't--and even brag about their foolishness.

English Standard Version
Every prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool flaunts his folly.

New American Standard Bible
Every prudent man acts with knowledge, But a fool displays folly.

It was actually the false teachers that opened my eyes to this.

Since they couldn't argue with truth, they would watch their opponent to catch him in his words, the proverbial chink in his armor, so to speak. Then they would drive that error/weakness into the ground & run him off.

It was then that I realized that exposing their "other sins" would do more than exposing their false doctrine.

The more one sins, the more "other sins" they accumulate. No sin is by itself.

False teachers expose their own sins by the tactics they use. Here's some of them:Twisting plain scriptureUse "one-verse-wonders"..... single scriptures without any context at all

  • Groundless accusations

  • Draws fire from his opponent..... sowing anger & bitterness
  • Lies..... making up facts outta thin air.
  • Twists their opponent's posts to make them look bad
  • Posting their "proof" from heretical web sites & authors
  • They will refute any commentary & claim it's just "some man's ideas" (I know, right?)
  • They abuse their opponent regardless
  • They add your name while abusing someone else, accusing of a "tag-team effort"
  • They actually use team efforts against single opponents (wolf packs)
  • If you hold to a godly standard against sin, they will accuse you of judging, being heartless, lacking empathy, & refusing everybody else because "you have a superiority complex" "no one's right but you"
  • They will trick you into compromise & acceptance by by saying "why can't we all get along?" "It's obvious you don't love them" "why are you always hatin' on me?". This one is a classic: "The BDF would be a much better place if we would just accept each other as 'brothers & sisters' "
  • They will use the same tactics over & over, because that's all they have

Then there's their attitudes:
  • They write like they're the only true authority..... "and that settles it!", "and that's it!"
  • They talk down to others
  • They accuse even when the truth would be easier
  • They're hateful one minute, & calm & loving the next
  • They portray themselves bigger than they are
  • They don't care about their reputation. They will argue & get you to argue, so that neither one is received or believed. The bottom line isn't that their doctrine is received, but that the truth is covered up
  • They will display fleshly affection, pretending godliness. Some Mormons & Jehovah's witnesses are the nicest moral people you'll ever meet. That's how they win so many over.
  • The fruit of their attitude will always give them away

New American Standard Bible
Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;

This scripture warns us to know who we run with..... we shouldn't be found participating in their sin.

The bottom line is "wicked is as wicked does".

If their doctrine is bad, so are they.

If they are bad, so is their doctrine. You don't have to be smart in the proper doctrine.....Their fruit will tell on them.

If it does not change us for the better, or lead others to Christ, why are we wasting our time?

I don't know

I trust that HE told us to "go" and that we have entered into the father's field
we don't and can't bring the increase but nonetheless we were told to go

what would HE say if we desert the work?

Nah! Not really. Many of us have grown enough to give up on the same ole same ole arguments. Only the ones who haven't remain.

Stephan? I've known you for three years now. You have learned in those three years, but you're not getting better. You're getting worse. And you're not teaching doctrine. You're teaching haughty, angry, insufferable.

Which work are you referring to? If nobody gets saved, nobody gets led in the direction of the Lord....What work is being done here?

I endeavor to be kinder and gentler but Gods word does not change so I must continue to proclaim it as it is written.

Dear, I'm not in the least surprised that it was you who was the first to do this.

That's actually another thing I've learned..... expect not to be believed or received.

We're in the falling away..... what else should we expect?
