For Jesus to be the King of kings for 1000 years? Because God wills it? It will take some time for mortals to forget about the antichrist schemes then rebel before the New Jerusalem. Isaiah 60ish says a young man dies at 100 years in the millennium.

da purpose is to fulfill prophecies written in the old testament. these include a major increase in life span, the restoration of the kingdom of Israel that peter asked the Lord about in acts 1:6 and Jesus reigning from Jerusalem with a rod of iron. basically this is israel finally getting their promised kingdom governed by da law and the Messiah being their king.

why cant folks just believe the bible? it says a thousand years many times, therefore it means thousand years.

I think you have been wrongly represented by your teacher in this matter.

Lets go back to Luke 1: with emphasis on v. 26-35 where Gabriel tells the Virgin Mary is with Child, will call HIM Jesus and He will rule over the world through Israel from the throne of King David.

This has not happened yet so it is yet to come...... Once Daniel's 70th week has run its course, those Jews who fled Jerusalem when they saw the Abomination of Desolate were saved from Satan's attempts to kill them. He (God) protected them and Feed/watered them for a 3 1/2 year period. (the Great Tribulation).

Before we go: Jeremiah 31:31-34.....the last part of v.33 says ":.........After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people."

At the end of Revelation the Millennium begins... Jesus will rule from a place near Jerusalem on the Throne of David. Here Jesus will rule all nations of the world through the very remnant of Israel that He kept safe during the Great Tribulations or the last half of Daniel's 70th week.

The populace that will inhabit this new world will be those that survived Daniel's 70th week and they will be Gentiles. During this era, each person (Gentiles only for all Jews have be predestined at this point) will live 100 years at which time they must make a decision(if not done already) to accept Jesus Christ or Not to Accept Jesus Christ as savior. If they Do NOT, they Die and their Souls in Hades await the final judgement by God (the Father).

If they accept Jesus as Savior (truly accept HIM and HE will know), they will be able to live the remaining years of the Millennium.

Simple as that....Yes simple as that.

For those of you believing in a literal thousand years, what happens after a thousand years? Jesus reigns? If that is what happens, how is that different than the millennium?

Bugs Bunny said it was in 1492 when Columbus sailed the ocean blue......I kinda figure the Americas were known long before that....oh like when in the days of Earthquake (Peleg) when the earth was divided......

I really never gave it much thought prior to "switching" to preterism.

Angela....This appears to be a gotcha statement....... How is a 1000 years different than the Millennium????? Aside from that whether you call it a 1000 year reign of Jesus or the Millennium, there some attributes that can be discussed.

Jesus will rule the nations of the earth for one thousand years (the Millennium) with a fist of Iron...Rem, the Millennium will begin after Daniel's 70th week. As I stated before the people populating the earth will be the Remnant of Israel and the Gentiles. (all are survivors of the worst years the earth has ever seen).

At the end of the Millennium, Satan will be loosed again upon the earth. And again as before, Man's inherent evil rises to Satan's call and surrounds Jerusalem in an attempt to destroy it. God (the Father) brings down fire and kills every last man among the armies surrounding Jerusalem. He (God, the Father) then casts Satan into the Lake of Fire where it just happens, the Anti-Christ of Daniel's 70th week and the False Prophet are still waiting.

In summary, the 1000 years is without Satan or his influence. Therefore all, ALL evil that manifest itself during this time has to come from Mankind, proving that Man is inherently evil with or without outside influences.

The 2nd reason for the 1000 years is to show that the Lake of Fire is FOREVER. The Anti-Christ and the False Prophet from Daniel's 70th week were cast into the 'Lake of Fire' at the end of the Great Tribulation. They are still there at the end of the 1000 years again.

The 3rd reason would be to prepare the final group of human flesh for an eternity with Jesus Christ.

The 4th reason would be to fulfill all the prophecies and close the Book of GOD's WORD in all HIS Glory for the last time.

*********

Now for the only Question I could find that Angela asked??? what happens after a thousand years?

Well the earth as we know it as of 8/18/17 and as it will be for the Millennium will be GONE. Fire will consume the earth and a new earth will be created. There will be no seas on the New Earth.

A New Jerusalem will appear out of the heavens and descend to the earth, where we will live with GOD and He with us.

The difference is that all people at this time (after the Millennium or 1000 years) have eternal Bodies and will live forever.
Where in the Millennium or 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ, the earth is still populated with Flesh and Bone in Mortal bodies.

I think quite a bit of difference ...Don't you!
