Oh, and BTW nehemiah6 have you even read White's Book "The King James Only Controversy"?

Be honest. Yes or No will suffice.

And "NO" it will be. Why would I waste time on his book when I have thoroughly research the matter, and concluded that all modern versions (and the critical texts supporting them) are corrupt?

But I have a refutation of this book. Would you care to read it and see why James White is not to be trusted? I can direct you to the source of that refutation.

But of course you haven't read it, that way you can slander in ignorance.

The bottom line is you're scared.

Your faith is in a version more than a Person, and you're scared your world would be rocked to find the KJV actually has translational errors.

And it does.

It's much easier for you to slander others in ignorance, but that's your fruit.

For the record I've read the arguments of Burgon, Ruckman, Gipp, Riplinger, Theiss and many more. My faith is in Christ, not a version, and the aforementioned are all heretical, divisive, sow discord, provide lies and slander as their evidence.

No, you have a book you think is a refutation of his work. And no, there are no new arguments, why would I read a book of refutation when you are scared to even read the book itself? It's most likely either by Theiss or Ruckman and I've already read their fallacious, biased, cultic arguments.

warning dont let them take u to da greek. often times the pastors who are into version shopping to find da one translation that fits their doctrine will also take u to da greek without even knowing da language.
drop these bozos off to greece and they cant even order a meal. stick with the king james da english speaking people have had it for 400 years now and its still da best. they keep crankin out new translations these days, most of them from the alexandrian manuscripts that have important verses and words missing.
i think it boils down to not accepting the book as final authority, they can mess with da greek and find the meaning they like with itching ears. we can all be guilty of havin itchin ears. btw the disciples didnt have original manuscripts of da tanakh and they still believed every word. many of them even read a greek translation of it called septuagint not da original hebrew manuscripts.

why cant folks just believe the bible?

No one mentions the Geneva Bible. It was the first Bible taken to America, brought over on the Mayflower. The Geneva Bible is the Bible upon which America was founded.

I watched the video. Coming from a group that had several KJVO type churches, and knowing most of the arguments I cannot accept what KJVO teaches. The arguments for KJVO fall under lies, half-truths, taking statements out of context, sensationalism, conspiracy theories, fear, and things of that nature.

I use the ESV after having used the KJV for many years. I also use the NKJV, YLT, NASB. I do not use the NIV, however.

The false teachings and divisive lies of the KJVO camp have wrecked havoc in many churches unnecessarily. The camp is typically made up of vitriolic persons who talk about the Bible version incessantly. Anything to keep persons from preaching the Gospel of Christ.

The video is filled with vitriol, lies, partial truths, conveniently edited excerpts of the exchange between Dr. White and Anderson to make it appear the way Anderson wishes it to appear, double standards and other tactics that are less than honest.

Newer versions haven't changed any doctrine, and haven't taken anything out of Scripture. In fact, the KJV has things added into Scripture that are not in the most extant mss.
"I do not use the NIV, however." Someone failed English. No way can those words go together in a sentence and it be grammatically correct. :) :D ;) :p

I don't happen to have a copy. Probably won't buy one. Ever. Seems James White feels the same...lolzzzzzzzzzzzz

One of the best things I've ever done was to read a version other than KJV. It's a good discipline to read through the Bible (well, at least I've heard it is). :)

White isn't biased, he's informed, consistent, honest. He's only biased to you because he totally refutes KJVO cultism.

The names you mention are all biased. Go figure. Maybe you should throw in Sam Gipp, Peter Ruckman?

Yes, of course there are many biased cultic KJVO sites. I'm sure you visit them regularly. You wouldn't know the truth of the matter if you saw it as with all other KJVO'ers.
You forgot to throw in Gail Riplinger.

I agree. My wife and I are in the middle of reading the bible from start to finish. This will be my forth reading of the entire bible. I used a different bible for each reading. I prefer the NKJV but have read many other versions as well. It's always a good read and I learn something new each time I read. Reading the bible is food for the soul and very worthwhile.

Did I say that I am not biased? I am absolutely biased against the corrupt modern versions.

But you are the one who said that "Dr. White" has the truth. I responded that he cannot have the truth since he is biased. In fact he slavishly promotes the debunked Westcott-Hort theory since he believes that the modern versions are more reliable. And James White plays a shell game. James White's Shell Game
