What do you know about Spiritual Warfare?

Can a Christian harbor a demon? (Not being possessed, but harboring a demon.)

What about curses? Are they real? How do you break them?

What about statues in your home. Like a statue of Mary? Or another person?

Can a Christian come under attack from demons? or devils as you prefer.

And what would a Christian do if they do come under attack?

The only thing I know about spiritual warfare is from experience I learned from hands on situations. I don't know about harboring a demon but I do believe that we can invite a demon attack by living in a sinful manner. the world of the spiritual has a lot to do with doors a demon can only open or go through a door when invited they require permission and we can give that permission without even knowing it by living in sin but a door can also be closed as well by living in the light.

As for curses it wouldn't surprise me if they were real but i have never been afraid of them and as for breaking them I recall Jesus saying some demons can only be cast away from fasting and prayer and so I would start with that. Statues and other people in my opinion is hogwash I have encountered plenty of these things and never once been affected by them even by people that i can sense are shrouded in a dark cloud. And yes a Christian can come under attack by a demon it is called spiritual warfare for a reason as for what one should do when under attack attack that is not a single answer.

There have been times when I could only cry out to Jesus and other times when I was strong enough to face them myself but i was never in true danger because even if the demon was stronger than me i only had to call his name.

This discusses spiritual warfare https://www.gotquestions.org/spiritual-warfare.html

Yes curses are biblical. The scriptures talks about the Lord blessing those who bless you and cursing those who curse you. The Lord protects his people so curses are nothing to fear. Those who are outside of Gods protection are more vulnerable to spiritual attacks.

What do you know about Spiritual Warfare?
It began in the Garden of Eden (actually earlier in Heaven) and will end when the Devil, the Beast, and the False Prophet are cast into the Lake of Fire.

Can a Christian harbor a demon? (Not being possessed, but harboring a demon.)
There is no evidence in Scripture to suggest this, however demons can exert a strong influence on Christians.

What about curses? Are they real? How do you break them?
Curses are real but when God makes a sinner a "new creature in Christ" old things pass away, and all things become new. The Gaderene demoniac is a good example.

What about statues in your home. Like a statue of Mary? Or another person?
If these are idols, they must be cast out and destroyed. Anything pertaining to the occult must be burned, and there is Bible precedent for that.

Can a Christian come under attack from demons? or devils as you prefer.
Absolutely. The apostle Paul himself was plagued with a "messenger of Satan". We are not really sure exactly what it was, but perhaps a physical disability or deformity.

And what would a Christian do if they do come under attack?
1. Put of the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6)
2. Pray with fasting.

plead the blood of Jesus, demons cant handle it. we are victorious thru Christ Jesus
alotta folks are surrounded by devils these days, by watching garbage on tv or listening to garbage music, things like this will cause us to be attacked.
now if u are one who is doing that im not judging u, we all make mistakes and mess up, ive done it too, but im just saying, dont be surprised if u cant feel the Lord's presence after watching garbage all day on tv, it dont mean ur not saved either.

fellowship with other believers, go to church, pray, fast, live holy, avoid garbage, do good, dont worry, trust the Lord, praise the Lord, be sober.
all of those are keys to feeling da presence of the Lord in powerful ways, and most of all to live in constant spiritual victory.
and dont go around calling me a perfectionist, i aint fulfilling all of that, im just saying those are the keys and all of them are good things to do.

I know this much -- where you focus is where you'll go.

There was a comedy not-so-long-ago called Frazier. Frazier was a radio talk show psychiatrist in his 40s, and yet he could not ride a bicycle because he kept running into the mailbox. He never got "where you focus is where you go," so even in the last scene he tried riding a bike and crashed into a mailbox.

I don't know where scientists get the money to make these kinds of experiments, but some were testing out this theory and discovered if a person is walking along a sidewalk on the east side and focus at something on the corner on the west side, each and every time, they finished their walk at the object. Even if they were told to stay on the east side, they'd end up next to that object. It is inherent in humans to go where we focus.

That said, the answer to your questions is focus on the Lord versus focusing on demons and evil.

We don't have the strength to fight demons, yet the Lord has already won that fight, so keep your focus on him instead of everything else. In doing that, it resolves all other issues.

It's a good thing you used the word "influenced" because that is precisely what that incident was. Peter -- in his zeal to protect his Master from any harm or danger -- said the wrong thing. Indeed it was Satanic in that it suggested that Christ should avoid the Cross. Had Christ avoided the Cross, Satan would not have been destroyed. And because this was such a serious matter, Peter needed to know that it was Satan's influence on his heart and mind that caused him to speak unadvisedly.

So the bottom line is simply this: Christians -- because they have the indwelling Holy Spirit -- cannot "harbor" demons in the sense that demons can live within side-by-side with the Holy Spirit. However they can be strongly influenced if they think humanistically (and many do) or think about things the way the world thinks. That's when Satan can take control of people's thoughts.

Take the matter of the Divine inspiration of the Bible. It is quite cut and dried. It is either the Word of God or it is merely the words of men. One cannot have it both ways. Yet there are theologians and professors in seminaries and Bible schools teaching their students that the Bible has errors in it, and the critics have the ability to "correct" the Bible. Hence all the modern Bible versions which are supposedly "superior" to the King James Bible. Where did this kind of thinking come from? Well all you have to do is go back to the Garden of Eden and listen to that Old Serpent: "YEA HATH GOD SAID...? (Gen 3:1).

I understand what u are saying. And "normally" i would have thought the same thing too.

If it said something like "out of grief"...or..."in order to protect" i would have NO trouble agreeing with your interpretation.

Yet, when i read that part in the bible again... it says...

Matthew 16:

21 From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
22 Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”
23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

When u say something in a "caring" way....its quite clear that persons intentions.

And when u say something in a "rebuking" way....its Also quite clear that persons intentions ^^

What do you know about Spiritual Warfare?
Christ has won.
Can a Christian harbor a demon? (Not being possessed, but harboring a demon.)
No.
What about curses? Are they real? How do you break them?
No.

What about statues in your home. Like a statue of Mary? Or another person?
If they have some religious meaning to you (you are praying to them etc), then its idolatry.

Can a Christian come under attack from demons? or devils as you prefer.
Depends on what you mean. Nothing like in Hollywood horrors.

And what would a Christian do if they do come under attack?
Get rid of sin.

IMO

a Christian can be tormented in the soulish part of us, but not possessing one because we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. Sealed. Is why we need our minds renewed by the Word, to offset lies of the enemy.

We are faced with a very powerful adversary - the Devil. We are being resisted by the Devil because of our Faith is exclusively placed in Christ and His Finished Work, i.e., The Cross, i.e., The Blood of Jesus. Every true Christian faces the onslaught of the Evil One. 1 Peter 5:8-10 - 1 Tim. 6:12

Question? What does it mean for a Christian to be devoured?

This was definitely a part of the Satanic thought and attitude put into Peter at that time. He momentarily forget that Jesus is God, even though he had just recently confessed his faith in Christ as the Son of God. Peter was an impulsive man and got into trouble because it more than once.

Question? What does it mean for a Christian to be devoured?
Since Satan cannot totally destroy a Christian, he can "devour" him by sabotaging his plans and purposes for serving Christ and the Kingdom of God. By introducing distractions, extreme pressures regarding finances or health or familial conflicts, and multiplying the cares of this life, the victim's time, energy, and resources are swallowed up in mundane affairs, leaving him little time to spend with the Lord and with sharing the Gospel and doing many other good works.

When you see a church striving to erect a fabulous building and putting financial pressures on the members to finance this project, that is fundamentally devouring that church. A simple and functional building is all that Christians need for their meeting places, since the building is not the Church. But pastors and congregations are oten trying to impress "someone" with elaborate and ornate buildings while souls go to Hell.

I can agree with that ^^

And that is precisely how "demons"... or "evil spirits" influence people. Christians , and non christians alike. It all happens in a "moment".

And that "moment" can be enough, sometimes, to tear someone else apart...and if possible...damaging them for the rest of their lives.

And then its "gone" again ^^". And u and i are left...completely oblivious to what he had just done....to someone else.

So...to me... Its really quite irrelevant whether a demon is harbored inside us....or standing next to us, whispering in our ear.

I believe we can All be influenced by them...at ANY part of our lives... IF we dont have our "guards" up, 24/7 ^^"
