For a long time in my life I didn't "know" about how to go about being saved, because my "First" Church didn't mention how to be saved, primarily focusing on "Water Baptism" as the only accepting of eternal life, years later I finally went to ironically my other side of the family and went to a church and the members there explained that "being saved" is a "knowing thing"it threw me for a loop, because I hadn't been told a "way" to do so,so I inquired further with members about if it's a "knowing thing" then how do I know if I'm saved when I don't know any process of being saved?
And they explained that "Salvation" is through Jesus and Given by God,when one humbly and sincerely, asks God to save their soul "And" accepts Jesus as saviour, then one can receive the holy spirit.
After some time of thinking on their words and thinking on what they meant,I eventually realized what they meant, they didn't tell me some "ceremony" or "task" to do to be saved because it wasn't about doing something to get "saved" it was about believing upon that Jesus died for my sin and that he is my saviour, alongside that I was to humble my heart to God asking for him to save my soul, realizing that I needed his guidance to not die in my sins, and that through Jesus I could be saved, ultimately coming to realize that God had been waiting on "Me" to ask for salvation humbly then accept it through accepting Jesus as saviour, and now I am holy spirit filled doing what I can for God through Chat sites, and simply doing what he asks of me!
That is how I know I am "Saved".
For "All" whom can "affirm" how to know if one is saved because you"know" you are saved, please share your own personal experience,or if one retorts this share your retort, either way please share "All" posts in an "unhateful" and "mature" way,God bless you!

God spoke to me, told me who he was, the Saviour of the world, and told me to repent of my sins. The confirmation was that I did repent, and continue to repent, and hopefully bear good fruit.

Oh yes, and God still speaks to me, usually in the Word, but sometimes through preaching, other people, and in the small still voice that was not in the storm!

The fact that you believe, you are saved because God the Father reveal His Son to you so you can believe in Him to be saved.

Matthew 11:[SUP]25 [/SUP]At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.[SUP] 26 [/SUP]Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.[SUP]27 [/SUP]All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

John 3:[SUP]18 [/SUP]He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.[SUP] 19 [/SUP]And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.[SUP] 20 [/SUP]For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.[SUP]21 [/SUP]But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

God knows you love Him more than your evil deeds to reveal His Son to you to draw you to Him to come to Him & believe.

John 6:[SUP]37 [/SUP]All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.[SUP] 38 [/SUP]For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.[SUP]39 [/SUP]And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.[SUP]40 [/SUP]And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day............[SUP]44 [/SUP]No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Yes indeed "belief" is "required" for salvation.

Honestly It is not easy question for me, but the Lord give us clue in Matt 25 WHO Will categorized AS save. Is not requirement but It is evident that we are save

These verse below basically say If you do not love the poor, the stranger/racist, etc than you not save, not because salvation by work, but agape work proved Jesus in you.
Resently there is racist riot and the Rioter claim themselve AS Christian. While Jesus say that saved person invite the stranger

Matt25
41
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

so how do you know you saved ? According to matt 25 If you naturally love the Liest, you saved.

At the age of 14 I saw this little bible tract on the street. I picked it up and read it. Took 5 minutes. It explained clearly the plan of salvation that is made possible by the shed blood of Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. I prayed the little prayer on the last page, confessed my sins to Jesus, thanked Him for dying on the cross for me, invited the Holy Spirt to live in my heart and to guide the path that I should travel on. I felt different inside, kind of clean and hopeful. It was a new beginning for me.

I disagree. There is no scripture to back up "belief alone" or "ask Jesus into your heart" or "you are saved when you just accept that you are saved" as ways to achieve salvation. You had it right the first time. It's ok that we learn more about being saved after we are saved. But set opinions aside for a moment, and let's take a look at what the Bible actually says about abstaining salvation...

1 John 5:13 says, "These things are written so that you may know that you have eternal life." And what was written? 1 Peter 3:21 "This water symbolizes baptism which now saves you- not by removing dirt from the flesh, but by a clean conscience toward God." In other words, it's not about taking a bath. There is nothing magical about the water, but when you obey the gospel of Christ (baptism) God preforms circumcision of the heart (Colossians 2).

How is baptism obeying the gospel? And what is the gospel? The Bible says that the gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. How do we obey that? By doing the same; we die to ourselves, bury our old sinful self in the watery grave of baptism, and are raised a new creature in Christ.

We all know that those in Christ's body (church- (Colossians 1) will be saved, but how do you get into Christ? The Bible only mentions one way to get in Christ- baptism. For example, Romans 6:3 says, "Do you not know that all who were baptized into Christ werebaptized into His death?" His death is where He shed His blood, it's where we come in contact with it, and we stay in contact with it by taking the Lord's Supper upon the first day of the week in the assembly of the saints (church).

It is just like how physically you are conceived and born- which is where you get blood (which is life), and your heart keeps that blood circulating in your body to keep all your tissues alive. Well in the same way spiritually, we are born again by baptism, and partaking of the Lord's Supper is the heartbeat that circulates the Blood through the body of Christ (the church). As long as you are part of the body, and receiving the blood, you remain alive, and the Blood carries impurities out of the body. Thus those in Christ are saved- not just by believing that they are, but by actually means that God had set in place.

"With flames of fire (hell), He will take vengeance on those who know not God, and who obey not the gospel of His Son."

When I was 12 or 13 I went to church with my best friends family. It was the first time going to church since I was about 5. At the end of the service the pastor asked if there was anyone that wanted to be saved. I raised my hand. Apparently I was the only one that day that wanted to be saved.

So he told me to come down to the front and repeat a prayer that he told me. When we were finished he told me that I had the holy spirit and that I was saved. I felt really good and I was really excited. But I hadn't been to Christ yet. I had answered an altar call. A big difference that is obviously not taught in (many) churches...

Then about 25-26 yrs later the Lord started really drawing me to Himself. Me and my family. I started to read the bible. I started having a desire to go to church. I started trying to do the things that were in the bible and seemed like commands that we were supposed to do. And then I started to pray and ask questions.

I thought I was already saved. But the Lord showed me what true Salvation is. And true Salvation is coming to Christ. And asking for what He has already Promised.

I think the Lord takes it seriously when you go up to the altar and ask for Salvation with an open heart. But I also think the Lord wants you to know where Salvation comes from and who it is that is blessing you. It is not a church or a pastor or magic words or magic water that is saving you. It is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ac 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

Ac 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

We ask the question when the Holy Spirit convinces us of sin and we see the judgment of God on sin. The goodness of God is seen in the righteousness of Christ which is imputed to us when we receive Christ as our Savior.

John 16:7 ¶ Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Hi all,

This was how I came to find Jesus.

For me many years ago when I first started reading my bible. I believed that I needed to keep God's Law (10 commandments) for my salvation accepting the death and life of Jesus. I was very exacting in what I believed at the time and tried to be very strict in my observance to obey God's Law. I found after some time that the harder I tried the more I saw myself as a sinner going through a cycle of sinning, confessing and repenting the same old sins, until I was ready to give up in discouragement. I also saw myself on the inside. Sometimes I was outwardly never breaking God's Laws but in my thinking it was not a very nice place to be at all. Where was this love I was suppose to have for others. I knew deep down inside that I did not really love people like Jesus wanted me to.

What now? Reading God's Word Jesus is telling me even if I look on a woman to lust I have already committed adultery applying God's Law to my very thoughts? Ok here I lost all hope..... condemned as a sinner....... All my righteousness now was as it is plainly to be seen, filthy rags. I have finally given up all hope of trying to keep God's Law. There is finally nothing that I can do to save myself.

It was at this place for the very first time in my life I met Jesus. I could finally see that it was he who died on the cross for my sins and that I was the chiefest of sinners of whom Christ had come to save! I knew for the very first time in my life that Jesus had come into the world not to save the righteous but bring sinners to repentance. Before I was righteous (in my own eyes) but now I can see myself just how God sees me, sick with sin in need of a Savoir. The Law of God was my schoolmaster that brought me to the cross to meet Jesus for the first time. Here I was at the cross, all undone my complete dependence was no longer on what I could do, but was only on what God's Word says it would do. For the first time I had complete dependence on the Word of God to do what it says it would do and that Jesus was holding out His free gift of salvation to me all he wanted me to do was to believe His Word and it was mine. I saw for the very first time that I love Him because He first loved me.

Now I walk with him. His commandments that brought me to him are no longer his commandments. They are his promises and as I received Jesus I live in Jesus, by faith in his Word to do what it says it will do. Now I obey and follow him because I love him. He has made me free in Him and given me power to walk with him in newness of life. Now I follow the God of creation by faith and dependence on the Word only to do what it says it will do. I love Jesus and His Word. His Words are spirit and they are life! I worship Jesus everyday. I follow His Word by faith and it is he that works in my as I believe His Word. For the very first time I am free in Him, He changes me day by day as I believe His Word.

A counterfeit Gospel is out there. It is a Gospel that tries to separate God's 10 commandments from the plan of salvation.

Why is God's Law important to helping someone to have faith in Christ alone?

Because it is only through the Law of God (10 commandments) that any of us have a knowledge of what sin is (1John 3:4; Rom 3:20; 24). If we do away with God's Law we have no knowledge of sin. If we have no knowledge of sin we have no need of a savior. If we have no need of a savior we have no salvation. If we have no salvation we are lost. "For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law." (Rom 2:12).

God's Law shows us that we are sinners in need of a savior. God's Law was given to us that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God (Rom 3:19). It shows us that we are sinners and cannot save ourselves from this disease that we have within us so that we can by Faith lay hold of the promises of God's Words so that Jesus can save us from our sins. Jesus did not come to save the righteous (those that think they do not need saving) but sinners (those that know their need of saving) (Matt 9:12-13; Mark 2:17; Luke 5:32) God's Law has always been part of the true Gospel of Christ. The counterfeit Gospel does not have it. God's forever Law (the 10 commandments) is the foundation of both the Old and the New Covenant and the very foundation and basis of the true Gospel of Christ. It will be the basis of the judgement where we will all be accountable to God.

The Law of God is the only way of showing us who we truly are, sinners in need of a Savior and in this condition we can see for the first time Him who loved us and washed us in His own blood and by faith only lay hold of the promises of Gods Word. (2Pet 1:4) It is here as we believe God, that he changes us from living a life of breaking God's Law to a life of walking with him. It is through the operation of God through Love because he first loved us that we follow Jesus not for salvation but because of love. Love is the fulfilling of God's Law in us who walk not after the flesh (carnal sinful mind) but after the spirit and why Jesus says to his followers, "If you love me keep the commandments" (John 14:15).

People cannot see that this is the operation of God in the believer and assume God's people believe they are saved by their works, when in fact Jesus is saving us from our sins to walk in newness of life in fulfillment of His new Covenant promise (Heb 8:10-12)...... Gods Sheep hear His Voice salvation is from sin and sin is the transgression of God's Law (1John 3:4) whosoever is living in sin has neither seen him nor known him (1John 3:6)

God bless you all.

Matt25

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

so how do you know you saved ? According to matt 25 If you naturally love the Liest, you saved.

Matthew 25:[SUP]31 [/SUP]When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:[SUP] 32[/SUP]And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:[SUP]33 [/SUP]And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left....[SUP]41 [/SUP]Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

I believe that underlined portion in Matthew 25:41 is referring to the white throne judgment which will be the time that the devil and his angels will go in too along with death and hades.

That may be a judgment towards those unbelieving dead that will be resurrected at that time to be judged on how they had treated even the least of His saints.

I am not sure... but I believe I am led by Him to see it in that way. I do not believe it has anything to do with any saved believer in Christ. I mean.. if one saved believer mistreat the least of the brethren, then he would be also the least of the brethren for doing so.

Matthew 5:[SUP]19 [/SUP]Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

So I believe it is how unbelievers of the world that treat even the least of His brethren that are being judged by that standard of judgment.

That is what I have discerned by Him at this time anyway.
