Right! It annoys me when people have this attitude and speak for God. We are under grace at this moment or people would be struck dead left and right, starting with televangelists.lol Why would Texas deserve a catastrophe more than any other state? The governor is a Christian and just declared a day of prayer for the state. Its just nonsense when people say these things. They are people who say the same thing about the Titanic and there were missionaries aboard the ship who drowned also,so how is that fair of God? Its silly.
I use this verse all the item when confronted by the NAR Prophets of doom

John 5.22-Jesu speaking

[SUP]22 [/SUP]For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, [SUP]23 [/SUP]so that all will honor the Son

Yes, and I wish that you would do so!

For example : Matt. 7:21-23 is viewed through the context ...
Jesus says He NEVER knew those who did NOT do the will of the Father.
W. E. Vine insists that "knew" means "approved of".
The will of the Father is that men would believe in Jesus. John 6:40 "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

Yes, but these are only a few of my NT favorites.

You should read some of the recent words from the Lord coming through His prophets and watchmen!
After decades of giving His warnings to these people for the church,
He is stepping it up in even greater intensity, especially condemning the pastors.

His big-time judgment of America has really now begun.
Witness Houston ... it will be left totally desolate, uninhabitable!
Didn't you clowns also say the same thing about 12 years ago about Waverly MS and New Orleans LA?

John 5.22-Jesus speaking

[SUP]22 [/SUP]For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, [SUP]23 [/SUP]so that all will honor the Son

Jesus is not judging anyone right now...he is making intercession for even silly headed little saints like you.

We are to believe in the Messiah and Keep His Testimony to be reconciled with Heavenly Father.

It is the New Covenant law of Faith.

To say merely Believe in Jesus is the wrong way to put it.... Truly believe In the Lord because He is the Author of our eternal Salvation if we obey Him. Our High Priest.. Bishop of our souls the only Good Shepherd to gather and lead us Home to GOD.

We are to live by Faith and that is to do the things He instructs us to do. A willing heart need apply.

Yes, we are to Keep the Commandments of GOD.

The Great Commandment and second like it... we are loved and are set free to love GOD and each other.

The gate is narrow.. so Keep Looking to the Lord who will lead you on the path of Righteousness.

Grace and Mercy is all from GOD toward us so be grateful and gracious.. forgiving as you are forgiven.. being merciful like your Master is Merciful toward you...

Use your liberty to love and serve.

and you admonish your readers to repent.

Because the many dozens of dire warnings in the epistles were written to the churches!

Here's an idea ...
why don't you RECONCILE the so-called OSAS NT verses with the anti-OSAS NT verses.

If, and when, you do this, you will find ...
"believe" really means "believe, have faith in, trust in, obey ... until death".
This is what the NT teaches.
I believe God saved me and holds me in the palm of his hand! But, because he saved me, I must repent and obey him. A daily walk with him, being transformed into the image of Christ.

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2

"
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate
the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." 2 Cor. 3:18

Having read the Bible, in context, over 50 times, including Greek and some Hebrew, God led me from a place of condemnation and fear of losing my salvation, to understanding I was safe with him, and he would never leave me or forsake me, (Hebrews 13:5) That was the power of the Holy Spirit using the Word to guide and lead me!

So, again, you will find the vast majority in this forum are here because they do know Jesus, and want to serve him. We don't need your pathetic OT admonitions, but there are so many lost out there, and God might really use this message in their lives, to find Christ.

I pray you will find compassion for the lost, and share God's love with them
! That could be your real calling, not judging in the place of Jesus!

Is not romans 9-11 speaking to the Jews?
Partially. Romans 10 partially to the Jews and generally to all.
Right. In Rom 10:11-13 we read For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Then we have vss 14-15 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

God is using the gentiles to provoke the children of Israel to jealousy (Rom 10:19).

Understand and thanks....the discourse begins in Romans 9.31 and ends in Romans

[SUP]31 [/SUP]but Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not arrive at that law.<<<<<he is now talking about Jews...[SUP]
32 [/SUP]Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone, [SUP]33 [/SUP]just as it is written,“Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense,
And he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.”

Romans 10.1-15 is still taking about the Jews...Why are you leaving out 1-13 and jump to 14-15?

10 Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation. [SUP]2 [/SUP]For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge. [SUP]3 [/SUP]For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. [SUP]4 [/SUP]For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]For Moses writes that the man who practices the righteousness which is based on law shall live by that righteousness. [SUP]6 [/SUP]But the righteousness based on faith speaks as follows: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ (that is, to bring Christ down), [SUP]7 [/SUP]or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).” [SUP]8 [/SUP]But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, [SUP]9 [/SUP]that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; [SUP]10 [/SUP]for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. [SUP]11 [/SUP]For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” [SUP]12 [/SUP]For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; [SUP]13 [/SUP]for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
[SUP]14 [/SUP]How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? [SUP]15 [/SUP]How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!”

Why leave out vs 16, 17, 18, 20 and 21?

[SUP]16 [/SUP]However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” [SUP]17 [/SUP]So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]But I say, surely they have never heard, have they? Indeed they have;
“Their voice has gone out into all the earth,
And their words to the ends of the world.”

[SUP]19 [/SUP]But I say, surely Israel did not know, did they? First Moses says,
“I will make you jealous by that which is not a nation,
By a nation without understanding will I anger you.”

[SUP]20 [/SUP]And Isaiah is very bold and says,
“I was found by those who did not seek Me,
I became manifest to those who did not ask for Me.”

[SUP]21 [/SUP]But as for Israel He says, “All the day long I have stretched out My hands to a disobedient and obstinate people.”

Now on to Romans 11.1-10

11 I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. [SUP]2 [/SUP]God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel? [SUP]3 [/SUP]“Lord, they have killed Your prophets, they have torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they are seeking my life.” [SUP]4 [/SUP]But what is the divine response to him? “I have kept for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” [SUP]5 [/SUP]In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God’s gracious choice. [SUP]6 [/SUP]But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]What then? What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened; [SUP]8 [/SUP]just as it is written,
“God gave them a spirit of stupor,
Eyes to see not and ears to hear not,
Down to this very day.”

[SUP]9 [/SUP]And David says,
“Let their table become a snare and a trap,
And a stumbling block and a retribution to them.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]“Let their eyes be darkened to see not,
And bend their backs forever.”

We can see that Chapter 9.31-33, All of Chapter 10 and Romans 11.1-10 is about the Jews and Pauls desire for the Jews to be saved....Paul stops taking about Gentiles in Romans 9.30 and does not bring them up or start talking to them again until Romans 11.11

Correct greek rendering but it is much deeper...Ginosko here in this passage reflect being one with someone....

The workers of iniquity were acquainted with Christ because they did things in his name and Christ had acquaintance with them or they would not be standing before him in Judgement...

Christ is saying you were not one with me....Think John 15 and abiding here...

Do you think “whosoever” means Jews only?

Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

If a gentile confesses Jesus Christ is Lord of his/her life and believes in his/her heart that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, has that gentile believed unto righteousness and confessed unto salvation?

Or do these verses refer only to Jews who confess / believe?

For some reason I thought of that verse in Acts 19 where the evil spirit told the sons of Sceva Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are ye?

And interesting that the word "know" in Jesus I know is the Greek word ginōskō.

The word "know" in and Paul I know is the Greek word epistamai

Everyone of the scriptures used in the Op need to be looked at in "context".

For example : Matt. 7:21-23 is viewed through the context.

It is evident that Jesus is talking about false prophets in Matt. 7:15. These are not born-again believers because "inwardly" they are wolves. Christians are NOT wolves. They have a new heart in Christ.

Matthew 7:15 (NASB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

Notice that in Matt 7:19-33..Jesus said in verse 21:

"I never knew you "...these people were not believers...

( Jesus never said " I used to know you once.". He said I NEVER knew you at all...).

Everyone when they see Jesus will call Him Lord.....because He is Lord and will be for eternity.

Jesus said that He "knows" His sheep so those in Matt. 7:19-33 are not true Christians.

John 10:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14[/SUP]I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

Jesus did the "will of God"...and delivered us from this present evil world

Galatians 1:4 (KJV)
[SUP]4[/SUP] Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

It is God in us that gives us the will and the ability to do His will.

Philippians 2:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13[/SUP] for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

The Will of the Father is to believe on Jesus.

John 6:39-40 (NASB)
[SUP]39 [/SUP] "This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.

[SUP]40 [/SUP] "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day."

1 John 3:23-24 (NASB)

[SUP]23[/SUP] This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.

[SUP]24[/SUP] The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

The good works we do are from "being in Christ"..being led by the Holy Spirit. Notice God has prepared them for us. We walk them out as we live our lives dependent on Him. It is His fruit that bears in and through us.

Ephesians 2:8-10 (NASB)
[SUP]8[/SUP] For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

[SUP]9[/SUP] not as a result of works, so that no one may boast
.

[SUP]10[/SUP] For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
the will of the Father is believe in Jesus

and believe in Jesus mean

do the will of the Father

and the will of the Father is to love God and fellow human

Is Romans 10.11 referencing another scripture here?
I believe Roman 10.9-10 can be used as a great salvation tool ans long has verbal confession is made...with continued belief and confession

Is there a question someplace that OP is asking?

See, this is where I get confused and don't participate in the BDF. If a topic asks a question, shouldn't there be a question in the OP instead of wall-o-text that goes on and on and makes no point whatsoever? I'd like to answer the question, but I'm just not sure what the question is.

My answer is blue. Tree? Ice cream cone.
