it may help to approach what this thread presents with the following in mind:

At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do."
(Luke 10:21) ​

and as He told Peter -- flesh and blood does not reveal this, but our Father in heaven. this is His will, as it pleases Him, that it be so, and the world hates His will just as it despises Him. no one comes unless He draws them.

No one is beyond the reach of a loving God. Just look at Saul of Tarsus. He was a murderer, and yet Jesus went after him and Jesus worked in him in a mighty way. I don't think we need to chase people down( unless the Holy Spirit tell us to); that is the job of the Holy Spirit. He is the one that woos people to Christ. If we try too hard to win someone to Christ by preaching to them, we might drive them further from Jesus. A person very dear to my heart asked why I was preaching to her so much. I said that I wanted her to know the Lord. She said if she is going to come, she will come on her own. I am not saying that is what you are doing. Just saying that there is such thing as trying too hard. I think there is also a time for preaching.

So the attitude about not putting Jesus on a pedestal is quite foreign to me. He is Holy and we are to approach Him with the reverence He is due.

Allow me multilingualmessenger and kaylagirl, to expound a little further on 007's reply. I too, like 007, have concerns that some believers, not all, but some believers, "Putting Jesus on a pedestal", using different terminology in describing something very similiar.

Tis the "Over Romanticization", of the Christ, that borders very closely to idolatry, if not, in some cases outright idolatry. Inasmuch, as said "believer" no longer feels bound in their "Pressing ON....To the HIGH Calling OF God, IN Christ!"....In other words, they leave themselves in this (somewhat) self-induced euphoria, At the foot of the cross! NEVER LEAVING, nor never intending to leave. This is not good! THIS, is what over romanticizing does! Can one see this as being close to, if not actual idol worship? Jesus does the forgiving, AND the confessing of one to the Father. Tis the Father who does the saving! Tis the Father that does the healing!! Tis the Holy Spirit that bears witness with one's spirit. Where?...Not to Jesus, the Son! Not to itself! Nay, but to the Father! Be all glory and praise from ages past to ages present, and ages yet to come! Amen (and) Amen! (that's it)

So are you saying Jesus is not to be worshipped? Consider Hebrews 1:5-6: For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him


God says in Isaiah 42:8: I am the Lord:that is my name:and my glory will I not give to another,
neither my praise to graven images.

Why would God give his praise to Jesus if he is not God?

Proof Jesus was God?
The truth is not "was" but "is."


Scripture (Words from Jesus Himself) that say it all..

"Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? (John 14:8-9)
