Gen. 1:28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. 30 And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. 31 And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Mind you, this was before the Fall and before he created the plants we do NOT want to eat, and then animals he restricted later on.

Wasn't so much into punishing for abusing the planet though. Despite our egos, I don't think we can.

But take care of it? A definite "Do List" thing.

Israel was punished very severely for not keeping the Land Sabbath.

God does not take abuse of the planet lightly.

Hey, chickenkiller, long time no see!

15
The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and
there were loud voices in heaven, which said:

“The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,
and he will reign for ever and ever.”

16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their
thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God,

17 saying:

“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
the One who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power
and have begun to reign.

18
The nations were angry,
and your wrath has come.
The time has come for judging the dead,
and for rewarding your servants the prophets
and your people who revere your name,
both great and small—
and for destroying those who destroy the earth.”

From Revelation 11

[h=1]Exodus 23:10-12King James Version (KJV)[/h]10 And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof:

Revelation 11:[SUP]17 [/SUP]Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. [SUP]18 [/SUP]And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

Somehow... I see that as pertaining to the use of nuclear weapons rather than every day "pollution".

1. No killing chickens.
2. No playing chicken.
3. No chickening out.:)

Other than that we are to respect God's creation.

He says to let the feild rest every seventh year. He says you can tell a lot about one's character by the way he treats his animals. He let Balaam's donkey talk to voice his agony. He says to dig a hole, relieve yourself (go to the bathroom) and cover it with dirt. He says He walks among us, so have public restrooms. He talks a lot about how to treat growing plants. He says not to waste, but not to go to extremes either.

He put Adam in charge of tending the garden of Eden. He put humans in charge of animals, and says they fear us because of it- we must show them mercy if possible. (But any bug that enters my home gets the death penalty). He gave us skills to utilize the earth's resources- wood, metals, fabrics, vegetation, animals, etc, and said that humans are capable of great things (iPads lol).

God wants us to have common sense, and to treat each other and the creation good. But we can't ultimately save the planet, thinking it will survive forever. It is important to try. But what's most important is to save souls- who will last forever. That is a far greater concern.

"And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good."

^This is pretty much all I need to know! If God Himself considers His creation "very good", it should be automatic that we Christians do what we can to properly maintain it.
