This is indeed a mystery in itself. Whoever they are or were, I consider them to be the firstfruits, meaning the people who first came to Christ from among the tribes of Israel.

James 1:1 during this time the tribes were still present. After the destruction of Jerusalem the genealogies were destroyed.
But the 144,000 are spoken of in the book of revelation a book pertaining to a future that has yet to even be fulfilled?

Perhaps you misunderstood when the Lord declared that we are a kingdom of priests . . ?

Because priesthood is the symbolic reference of Levi - which scripture reveals is an office all believers share, the priesthood having been changed as Christ Jesus our high priest eternal was born of Judah, and in Christ there is no Jew and there is no Gentile.
I personally asked him what tribe I was from,so there's no way I would have a misunderstanding. In Exodus 32 when Moses comes down from the mountain to see the Israelite's worshiping the golden calf and say's "whoever is for the Lord, come to me" and all the Levites rallied to him.It is a reference to the remnant.Priesthood of Melchizedek of the most high.

How has God confirmed to you that you are from the 144,000?Do you care to share any of your experiences.Life experiences or your relationship with God.Have you told anyone close to you what God has revealed.
This is honestly my favorite subject on the Bible.I never real say much to anyone about all the stuff I've experienced with God,because people tend to get angered when I mention stuff that seem supernatural. If anyone would share what they have been told,I'll open up.To be honest,I don't even know where I'd start.
The 144,000 are of the 12 tribes of Israel.. I am not of the 12 tribes of Israel.. So therefore i am not of the 144,000..

Also since you are not an innocent you are not part of the 144,000.

Thanks,but I'll take the Word of the Lord over what you think.Yes,I fall into sin.Everyone is no different.I also have a son,so I'm not a literal 'virgin'.But I'm a male,so I have that going for me.:p
When your sins are forgiven and you walk with God like Abraham did,That's when you are made blameless/innocent.

Being held in bondage of sin could be generational or a sin from your early youth.A majority of Christians think they are not held in bondage. Some of them would rather follow their minds and repented only from the mind and don't even know it because they don't know how to follow the heart.where God knows you from.

John 6:40
For it is My Father’s will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Then the High Priest of the New Covenant is from the Tribe of Judah.

But I see where you are at as in all those that come are Levites.. though I consider that 12000 of each Tribe would be 144000.. though that is just my consideration.

Every point i made is based on the actual scriptures identifying the 144,000.. They are of the 12 tribes of Israel and they are all innocents.. having never known a woman ..

Revelation 14: KJV
3 "And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. {4} These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb."

So since you have a son you have known a woman and you are not a virgin therefore you cannt be one of the 144,000.. That's Biblical..

Jesus told me I'm from the tribe of Levi.I'm Native American. Not that it matters. He said he's going to use my anger to his advantage. He also told me the answer to life is love.when I asked him what the answer to life was he said I wouldn't like it.He held up four fingers and says "four letters"I felt like I already knew what he was going to say and I asked him for a hint,so he said "first letter is a L" being stubborn I asked for another hint and he said "second letter O" After that I was all like "no, nooo Jesus it can't be love?!"
Jesus said "I told you,you wouldn't like it"
I didn't like it lol.
God created out of Love, therefore it is the answer to life. How crazy is that? the answer to life right in front of us all this time. It's got to be a spiritual love because God is spirit. That's the kind of love I want to feel to those I love. The love Stephen had when he asked God to forgive those who stone him.
Actually stephen said "leave this not to their charge" as in to not justify their action of stoning him.

What is the purpose of the 144,000? Like what are they called to do and why are they chosen as such important people that they are mentioned in the scriptures?
they are spoken on in revelation as being harpists, not much is none otherwise of them.

It's about spiritual prostitution.

And in the NIV it says "Lord,do not hold this sin against them"
either way it's more of stephen asking God to not justify what they did rather then have them forgiven,Jesus said "forgive them for they know not what they do" despite crucifixion, pleading for all whom crucified him similar yet different.

By the Grace and love of GOD through Faith in His Son I'm a child of GOD.

You have said you are one of the 144k... do you not consider there will be 12000 from each Tribe?

well it's written that they are "they who were not defiled with women" so it's referring to that they didn't lust after women as well.

I read it as being Faithful to GOD and not defiling themselves with false gods etc.. and known no one else Spiritually.

Quite an interesting subject,I for one am a physical virgin,so I have thought on if I could be one of the 144,000 but sense I have lusted,it's not likely, that I am,but nonetheless a great subject in fact in bible study the church I'm going to is studying right now the chapters concerning revelation and the 144,000.

I can see your point after all Babylon is known as the great whore so religion as well as cultures could stand in their path not just mere desires or things of the flesh, good observation.
