Dear friends,

Some scriptures on love. Whosoever commits sin is a servant of sin. If you continue in His Word you will be his disciples indeed and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free indeed. Jesus says; They that be whole need not a physician but they that are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. Only those that look into the mirror can see who they are. This leads to the one who loves us....

The New Covenant promise....

Ezekiel 36:25-27

25, Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26, A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27, And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Hebrews 8:10-12
10, For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: 5 and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11, And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12, for I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Love fulfills God's Law.....

Matthew 22:36-40
36, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37, Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38, This is the first and great commandment. 39, And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 40, On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Whosoever keeps his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him. He that loves not knows not God; for God is love. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments......

Romans 13:8-10

8, Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves another hath fulfilled the law. 9, For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 10, Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law

James 2:8-12
8, If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well: 9, But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. 10, For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 11, For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. 12, So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

1 Corinthians 13:13

And now abides faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Love in action, comes by faith and faith come by hearing and hearing comes by the Word......

1 Corinthians 13:2
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Without love of God, we are nothing and err from the faith..........

James 2:14-17
14, What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

James said without love, our faith is dead.

1 John 3:17-18

But whoso hath this world's good, and sees his brother have need, and shutts up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwells the love of God in him? 18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

John said without Gods love, God does not dwell in us.

Matthew 5:43-48
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Romans 13:10
Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

1 Thessalonians 3:12-13
And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: 13 To the end he may establish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

Hebrews 12:14
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

We cannot hate one person, but love all people. We have to have love with all people,or there is no faith. Love is greater than faith but if there is no faith there is no love............

Revelations 2:4-5
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Galatians 5:5-6
For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which works by love.

Faith works by love and love is the fulfilling of the law in us who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit.....................

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

No faith means no love for all people, even our enemies. If we hate even one person, or do not care about them according to the God's Word, then we lack faith and love...............

We are saved by grace through faith, so we have to have faith to have grace apply.

If we lack in love ,then our faith is dead, we have no grace and no salvation...........

James 2:21-24

Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 See thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Abraham did the work of God,and his faith was made perfect, for a person is justified by works, and not faith alone, for love is the fulfilling of God's Law through the Spirit of Love.........

James 2:25-26
Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Rahab did the work of helping the 2 Jewish men and she was justified by her works,
for love is the fulfilling of God's Law through the Spirit of Love.........

Without works of love towards God and man, then faith is dead. This is not a part time thing, but all the time. Every thought must be to the obedience of Christ. We cannot hate one person but care and love all, even our enemies...........

God is love. God hates sin, and wants us to abstain from sin by the Spirit, to be right with Him. Sin does affect our relationship with God............

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love suffers long, and is kind; Love envies not; Love vaunts not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; 6 Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 Bares all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.....

2 Timothy 2:19
Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, The Lord knows them that are his. And, Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

1 Corinthians 15:34
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Love is the fulfilling of God's Law in us who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit (Romans 8:4). God is love and he that dwells in love dwells in God and he in him. Love is not selfish, not arrogant, and does not sin. This includes the 7th Day Sabbath which is one of the 10 because if we break one we are guilty of breaking all. (Exodus 20:8-11; James 2:8-12; Hebrews Chapter 4; Mark 2:27-28). Jesus says; If you love me keep my commandments (John 14:15)

Those who do not turn from unrepentant sin do not know God's love and will not be saved...

Ezekiel 18:20-24
20, The soul that sins, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. 21, But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 22, All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. 23, Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? 24, But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

Hebrew 10:27-28
26, For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Hebrews 6:4-8
4, For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. 7, For the earth which drinks in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and brings forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: 8, But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

1 John 3:3-10

3, And every man that hath this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.4, Whosoever commits sin transgress also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5, And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6, Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither known him. 7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8, He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9, Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10, In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

Receiving not the love of the truth....

Those that perish will not enter the Kingdom because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. For this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye love me, keep my commandments.

God is love and will always love us but only those that keep his commandments through faith in his Word that works by love abide in his love...

John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 15:10,

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Only a remnant will know the love of God and be saved.....

Matthew 22:14
For many are called, but few are chosen.

Matthew 7:13-23
13, Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14, Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it. 15, Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16, Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17, Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. 18, A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19, Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20, Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22, Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23, And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity <sin>.

Romans 11:3-5

3, Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. 4, But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. 5, Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Revelations 12:17
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelations 14:12
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

This includes the 7th Day Sabbath which is one of the 10 (Exodus 20:8-11; Mark 2:27-28; James 2:8-12; Hebrews 4:1-12)

God's love for those that follow him....

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Time to seek him. Time to get ready. God's Sheep hear his voice........

Act 17:30
At times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men every where to repent.

Isaiah 55:6-9
6, Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7, Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9, For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

With an everlasting love have I loved you and with loving kindness have I drawn you. We only have today. Tomorrow is only a gift because God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance and be saved.

Jeremiah 29:13
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

May God bless you

God is love and they that dwell in God dwell in love because he fist loved us. Who am I that he should love me? Then God showed his love for us in that while we were yet sinners he died for us. My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear hath torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar.

By this shall all men know that ye are his disciples, if we have love one to another. Jesus says; He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves another hath fulfilled the law. For this, we will not commit adultery, we will not kill, we will not steal, we will not bear false witness, or covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Love your neighbor as thyself. Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not Love, I am nothing and though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long, and is kind; love envies not; love vaunts not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeks not its own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil;

Rejoices not in sin, but rejoices in the truth; Bares all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. Now abides faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Those that perish will not enter the Kingdom because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. For this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. Love is the fulfilling of God's Law and the only way it can be obeying and it the reason why
Jesus says; I know you that you do not have the love of God in you. Truly, truly, I say unto you except a man be born again he cannot enter into the Kingdom of Heaven...

The Jewish Lawyers knew that love was connected to the 10 commandments (Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18)...

Luke 11:25-28

25, And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 26, He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? 27, And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself. 28, And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

Jesus connects the two great commandments to the Law and the prophets...

Paul connects love to the great commandments in God's Law....

10, Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Matthew 19:16-19

16, And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17, And he said unto him, Why call thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18, He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19, Honor thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

James connects love to obeying God's Law.....

Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.12, So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Love and obedience to God's Law is a sign that someone is born again and knows God......

1 John 4:7

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God.

1 John 3:9

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

If we sin and say we know God we are not born again and do not know God....

1 John 3:6-10

Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither known him.

1 John 2:2-4

3, And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4, He that saith, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

This includes God's 4th commandment the 7th Day Sabbath which is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11)

In times of ignorance God winks at but now calls all men everywhere to repent. For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. Faith without works is dead.

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornication's, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things which defile a man. Truly, truly I say unto you unless a man is born again he can in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven....

Let me translate this topic into Christianese:

"Keep the sabbath, or you are lost. Sunday worship is the mark of the beast"

My comment on it: Even if SDA are right, who cares? These guys do not even believe in hell, they believe in annihilationism. So you have nothing to lose

Hello Bogadile
Why do you feel God's Word is not for you? Or what is it in God's Word in the OP here that you do not believe? Only the unbelievers who do not believe and follow God's Word have no part in God's Kingdom. Why do you say you have nothing to lose? You have much to lose by not believing God.

Bogadile is NOT rejecting God's Word. He is rejecting EG White's word. EG White is NOT God. E. G. White was, at best, a confused woman seeking attention the wrong way.

I see, and she was quoted where? The scriptures in the OP are the Word of God. So what is it in the OP or the scriptures that you do not believe?

I do not obey OT law because Jesus did it for me knowing I couldn't. If I try to obey it myself now I trash the value of His suffering and dying on my behalf.

How did you come to that understanding from the scriptures in the OP? Most of the scriptures are New Testament (except 3).
We must ask our heavenly farther to have eyes to see and ears to hear so that we can know his Words that he freely give to all who come. He is knocking at the door. Who will open the door and let him in? Whosoever commits sin is a servant of sin. Jesus says; If the son shall make you free you shall be free indeed. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. We are sinners indeed but we have a Saviour for those that our Heavenly father have given ears to hear and eyes to see.

Eph 2:8-10
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

There is NOTHING we can do to contribute to or maintain our Salvation!

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
KJV

Once we are saved, good works and obedience will follow; but we can't take credit for them because they are God's work in us.

Who has said we are saved by the works of the law and where does it say this in the OP? Are you making an argument that is not there? If there is no argument than you have nothing to argue about but believe God's Word.

I think many moons ago I learnt through CC that SDA and EG white are connected but can not see what she taught specifically that many are against.. I did a wiki search and it seems Mrs White had visions throughout her life and promoted clean diet etc.. I guess we absorb info.. but in regard to this Thread I only see the Love of GOD being shared.. and I just read Samuel who taught this in the OLD Testament yet we know that a Believing heart is a willing heart and GOD does the rest as long as we believe and Truly Love Him as He Loves us.. as shown and there being no greater way than through Christ His Son toward us.

This thread is not teaching a works to be saved based belief system but a Love GOD and each other as the Messiah taught us through His Testament.

I dont don't think the idea of nothing we can do to contribute comes in to it because the Messiah Teaches us what we are to do.. anyone proposing any work to be saved is missing the boat that by Grace through Faith in the Messiah we are saved unto good works.... believing unto the saving of our souls.

The Just shall live by Faith.. and that is the New Covenant where we have GOD's Law in our heart and on our mind by believing and receiving the Holy Spirit.

Please read Heb 5v9....and unless we DO what He says we are not being obedient.
Also Lk 6v46, why call Jesus Lord when you DONT DO what He says
Obedience does not follow 'automatic without OUR RESPONSE to God's requirements/commands.
Jas 1v22, But be you DOERS of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

God/scripture is already telling us NOW to OBEY !!! what are you waiting for ?

I do not obey OT law because Jesus did it for me knowing I couldn't. If I try to obey it myself now I trash the value of His suffering and dying on my behalf.
JESUS DOES for us what we can not do....but NOW that we can receive HIS Spirit we ARE able to do what once we could not. OBEDIENCE is now the 'good works we are being created to do, and they come from GOD...they are NOT OUR works.
Please take the time to grasp this !!!

You may not be SDA but the OP most certainly is...and his website is a parrot of Ellen White's teachings, just as he is a parrot of her teachings on this forum...

Now seeing I am not SDA nor have any knowledge of their teaching apart from the Sabbath, that I can and DO agree with everything the OP says ? I believe that UNITY is reached by keeping the Sabbath Holy and thus doing the Will of God !!! Think about it friend ....all TRUE Sabbath-keepers seem to live together 'in peace and should be an example to the squabbling posters who can not agree on anything !
