In Australia we have all been posted a letter to vote yes or no to gay marriage.
It is causing a bit of friction but, but my question is, should a Bible believing Christian vote yes to Gay marriage or No.

We all know that God love everyone the same, but some churches are all for it and others are against.

I would not consent to anything like it. We all know that it is man and woman... yet the world is so messsed up that they try to normalise evil in the name of love.... anyone not willing to go along with it is hateful.

This is a tough one for me to an extent. Im struggling because my daughter lives a gay lifestyle. I know the Bible looks at it like this...if God doesn't find favor in the thought or lifestyle you lead, or anything we do...it's sin. One sin isn't greater than another. We are however not in a place to condemn others for their sins. God's got this too. My job as aher mother and a Christian is to love her unconditionally and pray for God to touch her life as He sees fit according to His will and purpose. If He loves the sinner, is it not also His will that I too love the sinner not the sin? We fight against iniquities and dark powers...so as far as voting I would say no.

You are to love their soul not their lifestyle,God is very clear in the bible that such a lifestyle is "Abominable" as in revolting to God because it is against what he established for man and woman to be,alot of people say the same old thing one sin is not greater than another, but that should not be the focus, the focus should be what is God against more, sure one can say sin is sin but still God declared 7 abominable sins for a reason it was not for people to shrug off as things that are minor or things that God will just forgive out of love,it is because they are complete blasphemies to what God established as right,we are under grace but that doesn't mean that horrendous behavior such as this so called gay lifestyle should be viewed as "no big deal" because then where is our respect for God then?
True we are to love our neighbors as ourselves but it doesn't mean we just give in to others,we are to stand firmly for God and stand by his word, though true we aren't to force what we believe on others but we aren't to submit to the wickedness of others,I have a so called gay uncle and I won't hinder him from speaking well of Jesus but as far as his lifestyle if he was nearing wanting to stop his lifestyle then I would be there for him helping him through the struggle to come to God more wholly.

We are saved by grace...by the blood of Christ Jesus who IS God. We live and respect the old laws...not because we go to hell for breaking them...but because they distract us on our walk with Him...and that is not His will for us.

No in church. If they want to have a non-christian seremony in a public office, I think it is their right. It is better for society that gay marriages are in proper conditions. And if they choose to live in sin and not follow Christ, it is their business. We can only pray for them. To try to hit them with bible verses will only push them even further away. I am abosolutely against practicing gay pastors or ministers. I am against that the church should conform to their wish to get a romatic church wedding. And I am definetly against that the church, as it has been discussed in England and here, should be able to get a blessing and ritual when they change gender.

For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.[Genesis 2:24]

And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE, and said, ‘FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH’?[Matthew 19:4,5]

But from the beginning of creation, God MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE. FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH; so they are no longer two, but one flesh.[Mark 10:6-8]

FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.[Ephesians 5:31]

Marriage is solely betwixt one male and one female. The union of a husband and wife is a symbol of the Christ and His bride, the ekklesia. To mar the image of marriage is to mar the image of our union with the Christ.

Indeed the only exception being that a man can have two wives one loved one hated as with Jacob, this is why typically only one man is married to one woman because one cannot take care of two and love both.

"Yes" to God's ordination of marriage, "no" to man's distortion of it.

Would you be so kind as to restate what you meant when you typed "the only exception..."?

God defines marriage as a union of a man and a woman. If we are voting on whether to redefine the word we need to decide whether we agree with God's definition or not. Our feelings about the gay lifestyle pro or con should not define a word.

Hey it's God's word not mine,I stated clearly what I know as the only exception to a man and woman being married, and I think I get what you mean I forgot to mention that the man has to marry one at a time with two wives, despite as with Jacob's case if the man loved another woman and sought her but ended up with a wife he didn't want before he could have the wife he did want.

Well, what I meant was I wasn't for sure what you were saying, and I still don't know. I am too dense, I guess.

But God never instituted a marriage to be one man a 2+ wives. Yes, He allowed many to do this, but He never instituted it to be that way.

It doesn't matter if some churches are for it or against it. God is against it and so His Word, that's the test. But I digress someone will want an exact verse word for word, and the more politically correct churches become the more winnowing God is doing.

I never knew how to respond to this question when asked, till I saw this answer. Thank you!
