I notice a lot of people talking about the BDF mostly in "I don't go in here for this" and "I don't come in here for that person," etc etc. I will admit I don't frequent it often because I'm not well read in His word I'll admit. But y'all who frequent it, what do you think?

What do you think it lacks? What do you get from it? What does it need? What kind of people would you like to participate?

But I won't. Because that would start a fight. And I don't want to start a fight. I just want to drink my...

I like it....I like the banter, heated discussions, exchanging sword blows with those that oppose any and all views held by whomever.....My view.....we live in an age when many are easily offended and when the rubber really meets the road which is coming soon on a planet near you....those who are strong in faith will be separated from those who are weak and easily offended.....if some cannot endure a little heat over what they believe....no way they can endure what is really coming

it needs to be centered on what the Bible actually says.

I feel like any mention of drinking, smoking, tattoos, piercings, or being a democrat will be met with much concern. But it would at my church too.

I swear this was meant to be serious XD
I know babe but hey humor is one thing the bdf needs a lot of too lol. on a more serious note the bdf needs to have people to be able to discuss and debate in a more mature calm and loving manner.
For instance if a person you are debating with is in the wrong or at least in your view is remember that we as Christians are called to be love. Now love does not name calling or point the finger or speak rudely and inconsiderablly to others rather love speaks in a calm manner and instead tries to teach them and if one can do so in a mature and kind manner then they may have very well changed a heart in the right direction.
However the fires of war in heated debates are not healthy for anyone especially people who are browsing the forum as guests and haven't joined yet, as I have said before I have known new believers who upon coming to the bdf have been scared away and one even quit being a Christians all together because of it

how about more discussion? I mean, so many in here seem not to read and consider what someone else has posted, they just keep on repeating the same talking points, and not responding to the other person's post.

The Bible actually says that the Word was God, took on flesh,
and dwelt among us :) Darkness does not comprehend this.

Greater participation by one and all. There is a huge disproportion between participants and viewers.

how about less threads where people ask questions that they think they already know the answer to, posted just hoping someone will disagree with them so they can stab at them with their sword . . .

and more threads where people ask difficult questions that they haven't actually resolved, looking for insight & wisdom, revealing the glory of Jesus Christ all over the scriptures?

((i'm guilty of both :p))
