Hi all...I must admit when I first read the title of this thread, it made me feel uncomfortable, but truth be known, I did not understand why it was written, but reading through the post I have a better understanding of what it means that Jesus has forgiven our sins, past, present and future and we do not have to keep asking for forgiveness over and over because He has already forgiven us, so I thank you those who have led me to search this out for myself:)...Now if I am correct, and if I am not then please correct me, when we sin, we should still always go to God and repent, agree with Him that I was wrong and He was right with a Godly sorrow, for when we sin, this is displeasing to God, we have put a hindrance in our relationship with Him, so we go to Him and tell Him how sorry we are and that with His strength in our weakness, help us to turn away and sin no more, and our relationship with Him is restored... am I right in thinking this way...xox...

Thank you Rose for taking the time to read what is actually being posted. No one is saying do not go to the Lord and confess. But we don't confess so God will accept us again. We have 100% full acceptance 100% of the time forever as long as we are alive because of Jesus who is alive 24/7. That is the gift Jesus has given us and it is a great and priceless salvation.

I like what you have posted Rose and agree with you. The hindrances come from us not God because His door is always open to us because of Jesus. His door never shuts on us and there is no condition for us anymore on how to get through that door because that door is Jesus and we are already through.

If we like so many sheep have gone astray., it's because we stopped following and got stuck in the brush. somewhere. Jesus always gets us out because He is our Good Shepherd. There are no conditions except to yell HELP LORD I'M STUCK!! Because without Him we can't get out. Without Him we can do nothing.

And as the sheep of His pasture we now have the right to be called the sons of God. And we should always and can always call for help even when we are stupid and sin. He has made provision for us. Jesus took our shame., condemnation and guilt. satan would have us not go to the Lord out of shame, guilt and condemnation but we who are growing into maturity see that satan has NO MORE claim to condemn us.

We are not ignorant of the devils devices.....We have Jesus now who always makes intercession for us 24/7 We are righteous IN Christ even when we sin., we have an Advocate with the Father always. We never lose our righteous standing and have to fight to get it back. It's ours because Jesus gave it to us.

And we learn how to follow better next time. We stay close to the Shepherd after getting stuck in the brush or getting bitten or even mauled by the wolves. We know safety and peace and green grass by still waters are with the Good Shepherd. We learn how much He loves us and we learn how love Him back and how to stay close to Him and follow Him.

David said 'against You and YOU only have I sinned

David loved God and WANTED to demonstrate that love by pleasing and obeying God

it's not a rigid set of rules (I don't think you see it that way at all but just for the record), but a RELATIONSHIP

remember creation in it's orignal form. God came down every evening and spent time with Adam and Eve. there is no record of what they did or said; only the fact that it happened

what broke that communion? what destroyed that relationship?

sin. at that moment, when God put A & E out of the garden, He promised a solution to that terrible event

we know Him as Jesus, the Son of God, who came to show us our heavenly Father

when you look into Jesus, you have an UNDISTORTED view of God, as our Father

take heart. He loves you more than you can fathom and I don't understand that at all. but yet He does for each one of us

so, I think you understand that you do not loose salvation, but do not be condemned either for there is no condemnation for those of us in Christ

but as the NT says, God has made a NEW and LIVING way. Jesus.

I like to try and keep a 'clean' record between myself and God. it's not that He is keeping a record, but fragile beings that we are, we can think the worst as the devil is always read to condemn us. that is why John wrote that we have a Father who is FAITHFUL and JUST to forgive.

as far as the east is from the west, so far has He put our sins from us and remembers them no more

the names of the ones He loves are 'written', 'engraved', on the palms of His hands and nothing can separate us from His love

seek His heart with all of YOUR heart.......and you WILL find Him. we can never reach the end of the depths of God's love or His Person

hugs

Hi joanniemarie,

When I confess my sins i'm not perpetually begging! I also like every other Christian saved by grace, live by the power of Christ by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in me/us. So I am not too sure why you have this view that those who don't agree with you are 'religious' swap christ for Christianity; etc etc. I agree with alot of things that you say. However, Like all hyper grace teaching it goes to far and ignores sanctification and what that means for the believer.

All you are doing is misrepresenting those who disagree with you with a strawman.
I do believe that is the entire presentation made by her

over and over and over

and it is a ridiculous strawman

some people are riding a runaway horse...if Christianity was only about emotions, then we would never have had any truth delivered once and for all

you cannot place emotions before the truth, that is like putting the engine at the back of the train and the caboose in front

does not work

but I think you know that

I understand 7...I must admit, reading through this thread yesterday and today has actually led me to the truth of understanding more about Jesus dying on the cross, saving me through His precious blood for my sins past, present and future, I feel as if my eyes sees better, more truth I have been led to, now when I read the bible, I will understand more meaning about what Jesus has done for me:), in the past when I was being cleansed from the addiction of alcohol, when I kept falling back into, I would be confessing for days on end how sorry I was, I was being condemned by the evil one, now should I ever be tempted and fall into weakness again, I now know how to approach God our Father , knowing that I have already been forgiven, for God knows when I will fall, I can come to Him boldly and repent, just writing this now I feel so much Joy, my eyes have been opened, Praise the Lord \0/ :)...xox...

Hi joanniemarie,

Sorry Phil, Not trying to put any straw men out there. Just different experiences we have as Christians. And we each have them. I didn't say everyone begs and pleads. But many do., I did. Many Christians beg and plead and try to learn to be good beggers and pleaders because many don't know about their rights and security in Christ. He has given us the right to be called the sons of God. And many of us behave like paupers and the devil counts on that and defeats us in condemnation and guilt.

Many are insecure because their security is based on their ability to present themselves. I didn't say those who don't agree with me are (religious swap Christ) for religion. But there are many who do regardless of my opinions on the subject. Some here who will accuse those of us who are encouraging confidence and security and strong consolation in Christ to be flippant in our relationship with Jesus as if we want to sin so that grace will abound. And that is far from true.

That post was written by another Christian named Major Thomas who noticed the same things I was doing as a believer. I didn't have peace or joy. Major Thomas didn't have peace and joy either. I could relate to what he wrote because that was my life too before the HolySpirit showed me about my righteousness in Christ. I used to have like many Christians an empty powerless religion. I depended on myself and not Jesus. I didn't know how to implement Gal.2:20

Not a straw man just sharing the facts. I once was blind but now I see. Those are good things to share ., not straw men.

It`s the truth lol...It has opened my eyes to the freedom I have in Christ, I do not have to keep begging for forgiveness because I am already forgiven:)...I understand exactly that I do NOT have a free license to sin, although I knew that part already, it`s just giving more understanding to so much Scripture in my head, that now when I read, I feel some kind of fear has been removed:)...
I know now what NO condemnation means for those who are in Christ Jesus, I know I can go boldly to the throne, anytime, I just feel more freedom, something has shifted in me, maybe a few scales have fallen from my eyes, I know this could not possible happen without me led by the Holy Spirit to these truths, and I must thank Ben for posting this thread that I nearly by passed because I did not like the title lol...\0/...xox...

Exactly Right!!! We already have forgiveness! In confessing, we are asking help to avoid repeating the same error.
Our sins are indeed forgiven; but we should NEVER be comfortable with or about them.

Hi Muzungu...I believe when I draw to God with repentance in my heart, with a truly Godly sorrow and repent, then I carry on in my walk with our Lord, I am not condemned because there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus...If I took my old way and repeatedly asked God for His forgiveness day after day for something He has already forgiving me for, then I believe that is where the evil is condemning me, keeping me trapped in the memory of my sin, but thanks be to God I do not have to step foot in that trap again...xox...

I'm so happy for you Rose!!. I know it's been a rough road because guilt and condemnation is a killer. So to read you have gotten stronger in your faith makes me REJOICE WITH YOU!!!. I do know the enemy will come again and try to defeat you but the stronger and more confident you are in the LOVE of Jesus and His provisions for you against condemnation., the better you will be able to defend yourself against the fiery darts of the wicked.

I've made so many bad choices in my life that have cost me dearly. And the devil condemned me and i believed him and became a recluse. Didn't leave my home for a few years. And it took lots of time to recover and learn how to no longer condemn myself. Because I truly believe I deserve condemnation by all human rational.

But we walk by faith and not by sight so I believe instead now I'm forgiven. And He remembers my sin no more., and He gives me an open door. All because of Jesus we have an open door. I believe Romans 8:1 and in believing I'm daily being set free. It's so amazing how knowing and believing the truth sets us free.

I'm still learning about it Rose. I still find myself believing the lies when I'm tired or alone so I know the enemy is relentless. But I've also noticed the truth of the Bible and the Holy Spirit are relentless and stronger than our enemies and gives us instructions on how to defeat the devil so he actually flees. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

James 4:7
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Submitting IS believing and trusting in Jesus for our victory. Then He shows us how to live in victory. How to walk in the promises He paid to give us all through the Bible.

One of the many being as you posted Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are IN Christ Jesus. Even as an older Christian I must remember this verse and its meaning each day. As you said., all these verses begin to tie together and it's like a light is turned on. The Bible is a light to our path Psalm 119:105

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path.

I experienced the same when writing the post to you

I believe that is fellowship in our Lord Jesus Christ

when we share Him, we do really have His joy

nonetheless, we are still to 'contend for the faith that was delivered once for all'

Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints. Jude v.3

1
As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

2Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

3Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

4There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;

5one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

6one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Ephesians 4

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Proverbs 4:23

Yes, that is what it is, a light has come on, the lamp to my feet has just got brighter:cool:...God has not given us a spirit of fear, but His Spirit of love, I feel as if I am walking through the door some more, walking on the narrow path and not tip toeing , God has filled me with courage to keep on keeping on...It could not come at a better time, I am waiting for blood tests about a certain condition I am being tested for, but I have been resting in our Lord, sometimes when fear strikes us because of the unknown we face in our failing bodies, it can become over whelming, I was even asking myself if I am truly saved , all tactics from satan...
But as I rest in Jesus, I know for sure that the fear of what I had before I read this thread is gone, I am forgiven, I have been set free, I am a child of God...Thank you for your post, some of them have helped me to see the truth...xox...

also are u sure if its the evil one condemning u see, maybe its just the conscience. thats an interesting ting u see, how do we know the difference when the devil is just bringing us down and when our conscience is blaming us?

That is where the enemy gets us bound up. He condemns and pretends to be the HolySpirit. I didn't know that the Holy Spirit NEVER condemns the believer. I was always taught that the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin. But that is not true. The Holy Spirit convicts us of our righteousness IN Christ.

The one who condemns is the devil. He is the accuser of the brethren. But if a Christian doesn't know this major truth in the Bible., how the devil condemns and the Holy Spirit reminds us of our right standing in Christ., Christians will be confused when they are getting condemned. They will apply the condemnation they are getting as coming from the Holy Spirit. We have been given the gift of no condemnation so why do believers assign this job of condemnation to the Holy Spirit? They simply just don't know the truth yet.

We Christians need to know we have been cleansed from an evil conscience so when our conscience condemns us we know and believe and hold on to the truth that Jesus and His provision is greater than our hearts feelings of guilt. We have been given the gift of no condemnation Hebrews 10:22
[SUP]
22 [/SUP]Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by [SUP][a][/SUP]that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.

It takes time to learn how to distinguish between the devil., our conscience and the Holy Spirit. But the starting point is knowing the HolySpirit NEVER condemns the believer. There is therefore NOW no condemnation.... and we must take that verse to be real and true for us.

Not as far as I'm concerned. I don't care what maybe Andrew Murry believes as far as finding fault if we confess our sins. I don't live under condemnation anymore so confessing sins is not a sin LOL. Good heavens we humans are so sin conscience that we can't even receive free forgiveness when it's given.

When I sin I can't help but say I'm sorry to the Lord right at the moment I realize what I did. And it's usually right away. But I always apply the truth of Jesus imputed righteousness on me. I know I walk in forgiveness all the time. But it's just normal to say I'm sorry Lord. So it's not a waste of breath. I think Ben titled this thread on purpose for a reason to discuss why we confess. And it's a good topic that has given opportunity for us to examine these Bible truths. Thanks Ben!!!
