The word nephesh means different things depending on the context.
Do you even speak hebrew if i might ask? If we were to take your interpretation for it, the wind blowing outside would be the Holy Spirit because God's spirit is רוּחַ which is literally wind or breath. Therefore we have wind living inside of us. Come on bro! Are you just trying to say the soul isnt immortal? Or whats the deal here?

Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth? Ecc. 3:21 (KJV)

Animals have souls because they display thoughts and emotions, but they do not have spirits, that part with which we commune with God and worship. No animal worships a tree or animal or a statue of another animal. Animals function mainly on instinct. Therefore they are not spirit beings like God, angels, humans, and demons.

Who decides to not translate it that way. How do they come to their conclusion, is their conclusion in context etc etc. Sounds to me you have defeated your own argument

One of your lucid moments in between Snoozes - this is the OP's bio on the Carm forums:

Now banned from Bible Discussion by the Hypoicrite CARM Moderators. Student of the Bible for over 35 years- doing INTENSE research. Born a Catholic- after arguing with JWs for well over a year, and doing research at the Library to prove them wrong- I became one. The WTBS lately has ruined the meetings, turning them into ParrotFests; reading and commenting on WT articles, and entertaining with videos. Yet, they/we STILL are a Brotherhood promoting the Truth about God & Christ- so I grit my teeth, while there... I QUESTION everything. Do YOU?

I'm not sure I understand your question Snoozy? Are you intimating that God does not? Plus its a totally different subject from the thread. You could start a new thread and we can discuss it?

Anything but, to breath= spirit, in Hebrew
"Breathing creature" is a living soul, kept alive by God's Breath ("Spirit").

Isa 42:5- Thus saith God Jehovah, he that created the heavens, and stretched them forth; he that spread abroad the earth and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein.-ASV

The RESULT of that power is Life, is our Personality- our living body- the soul.
(The Bible refers to LIVING souls- AND to DEAD souls.)

Jehovah referred to Jesus as His angel ("messenger")~

Mal 3:1- “Behold, I send my messenger to prepare the way before me,
and Jehovah whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple;
the ANGEL of the covenant in whom you delight, behold, he is coming,
says Jehovah of hosts. 2- But who can endure the day of his coming,
and who can stand when he appears?

Jesus was the very greatest of ALL God's angels, and has now beenb raised ABOVE them, yet
still LEADS them as the Head Messenger- Archangel:

1 Thess 4:16- For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

No chubby winged babies, nor the symbolic creatures seen in the symbolic visions of old.

No, believe it or not; the WTBS has turned all the meetings into Read-Fests of their articles and 'talks'.
I simply share what is TRUE about my Lord and my God.

Are you fluent in hebrew? Ya tell me that.

And I hope you aint trying to say the Holy Spirit really is just wind or something? Where are you going with this?
Lets see, if i was to take a guess, id say yous an arian or unitarian. That would mean that you believe the Holy Spirit aint a person, but its just a "force"? Am i right?

Well in acts 8:29 the SPIRIT says go over and join this chariot. so a "wind" or a "force" cant speak like that?

Actually lemme just post this link right here, its got all the verses so i aint gotta go through em!
