Hey everybody so this is my question : Have you ever felt like being trapped in a cage ?
Well i have been feeling this way as long as i can remember.
Its a big hard to explain but i literally feel my soul trapped in this cage that surround's me.
It gives a very bad feeling that i hate and it is very hard to cope with.
I am saved since 2017 , well some would say i am not ....but i am.
It is like your hole body is a prison and you cannot escape it whatever you will do ....
Oh well this is it ?
Anybody else ?

I was once in a cage of loneliness with only the shadow of fear, depression, and anxiety for company. I thank God for delivering me from that and I pray that God does the same for you. Hopefully, you will find comfort, support and understanding from the members of this site. Glad to have you join us. Welcome to CC.

I'm curious why you say some would say you're not saved, yet you insist you are. How do you know you are? Knowing a little backstory may help to understand.

We are all trapped in these flesh bodies. I don't think a Christian should ever be completely comfortable, our souls were not meant to dwell in flesh and blood, its not our home. We belong elsewhere, we are spiritual beings and Christ liberated us spiritually, but we are prisoners of the bodies we possess for a sort time. It would be unnatural to feel at ease as we currently exist, because we are all trapped in bodies that will perish. No different than sitting in a house that's on fire :)

Ps. 73:26.
My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the Strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

MATT. 26:41.
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

ROM. 6:19.
I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh:
for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity;
even so now yield your members servants to Righteousness unto Holiness.

ROM. 8:3-4.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son
in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

That the Righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh,
but after The Spirit.

I know how you feel. I have suffered from depression too. I suggest you see a psychologist, a counselor or psychiatrist. You could talk to your church's pastor. pray, seek the Lord, listen to him. Read the Bible, the Psalms and proverbs. There is a lot of helpful advice in Paul's letters in the new testament.

My drawing did not turn out, but it is of a bird trapped in a cage. Here are the thoughts I put with it:

Sometimes pictures are better at expressing what you are feeling.

What picture would you draw?

No amount of Christian platitudes or helpful words can reach that place. Even Scripture often puts a bandage over it, but the feeling still remains.

The person who comes along and acknowledges your feelings as valid ones is very helpful. For a moment they are really with you and it is a great comfort.
“Weep with those who weep”.
Compassion, not teaching, is needed when you feel trapped.

Knowing that Jesus is feeling what you are feeling, and that he is moved with compassion for your present situation removes that feeling of being alone.

Drawing the bird trapped in this cage actually helped me once, and I think it was the little bit (or a lot) of humor in it. It put my feelings in perspective – like they were really sort of small in the overall scheme of things.

And as I looked more carefully at the cage, I noticed the top was open. All the little bird had to do was look up and fly out.
Just a change of view.

there is nothing wrong with the flesh itself. the problem is our flesh is corrupted by sin!!!!! thats the issue.

paul shares your feelings:

romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

We all probably go thru that at one time or another. God's word says The truth shall set you free. It may take time, as you learn and grow in the Lord. It may help to learn Christian songs, those psalms, hymns and sacred songs told abt for us to sing. For example, we know others also go thru what these words say: Why so downcast O my soul?.. Put your hope in God.

I am in that way too, but it is like an invisible prison maintained by the eyes of my enemies watching me 24/7. I cannot go forth without mischief being done or slander being made behind my back, albeit unsuccessfully as I get wind of it. I cannot get a job, or go to church, or have a friend, or go to a restaurant, or even the theaters without some melodrama going behind the scenes at my expense and to defrauding me in some way or another. It is like they need to cut me down with lies to feel better about themselves, and yet I have my own sins against the Lord that I need Him to keep me from that has nothing to do with them.

If you read the Psalms, you may find that some of the Psalmist felt that way too, at least the way I feel.

Psalm 37 at this link at Bible Gateway to see one example I relate to that you may also as well.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+37&version=KJV

My life since in high school and onward... as it got progressively worse and worse so that now I am alienated and defamated to the point of no return to be made sport of is mirrored in the Psalm below at this link at Bible Gateway.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+88&version=KJV

You may find other Psalms that relate to you better than the ones I have mentioned in feeling trapped whereas I feel like I am in an invisible prison made by the ever watchful eyes of bullies to cause mischief by their mouths wherever I go.

The worse part of this is that the Lord foretold me ahead of time in prophetic dreams since I was a tot living in Iowa that this was going to happen and I did not know that they were prophetic dreams until they came true when I had moved to my present home in Pennsylvania for the 5th grade and onward through those many years ago to today.

No. I do not feel special. I had a memory ( probably a dream or a vision, I know not ) where I had a choice to stay with Jesus or go back to the pleadings of my folks and other people I have not met. I wanted to stay with Jesus but Jesus showed me a book of the sins written of me that I would do should I go back. I was grieved in tears by my future adult sins and I did not want to be separated from Jesus, and seeing this, my folks and the others screamed for me to come back more and more as that grieved me even more.

Then Jesus said "I will see what I can do.." and I was sent back.

So as I go through the storms and hopelessness of my life on earth in this vile body of death, Jesus has been my Friend in keeping me as His friend in keeping sin from having dominion over my life again as well as endure the punishment for those sins while slanderers make something out of nothing in having fun at my expense by getting some sort of ego trip out of it too, as I trust in Him I will not be left behind at the pre trib rapture event.

This Psalm is something I can say right now.

Psalm 142:1
I cried unto the Lord with my voice; with my voice unto the Lord did I make my supplication.[SUP] 2 [/SUP]I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.[SUP] 3 [/SUP]When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.[SUP] 4 [/SUP]I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.[SUP] 5 [/SUP]I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.[SUP] 6 [/SUP]Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.[SUP]7 [/SUP]Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.

So I do have a desire to depart from this life I hate to be present with the Lord in Heaven, but I wait in hope for my deliverance while I wait in hope that He keeps me from my sins to walk in the light in following Him.

Yeah this is gnosticism we was meant to be flesh and blood! Adam was created flesh and blood, and Jesus had flesh when He resurrected.

The problem aint the flesh, its sin. And when we get our glorified bodies there wont be no more sin! I hope you agree.

God has chosen to operate His work from the basis of faith. "The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:2) is God's prescribed order of victory for the Believer over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil. This means that the Believer must place and maintain proper Faith the size of a mustard seed exclusively in Christ and the Cross of Calvary, i.e., The Finished Work, i.e., The Blood of Jesus, where the victory was won so that His life would be lived through you. This gives the Holy Spirit the legal means to help and do what is needed to be done in the Believers life because the Believer is glorifying Christ, God's beloved Son in whom He is pleased. You are now operating in the spirit. No Believer can fix the flesh with the flesh. All fruits that are added to the leaves of the Believer most be done by the Holy Spirit or you enter the works of the flesh (Gal. 5:19-21).

The Holy Spirit works strictly within the parameters of the "Finished Work" i.e., "The Cross of Christ", i.e., "The Blood of Jesus", which demands that our Faith be exclusively in the Cross of Christ. The reason is simple, that's were the price was paid, and the victory was forever won (Romans 6:1-14; 1 Cor. 2:2; Gal. 5; Gal. 6:14; Eph. 2:13-18; Col. 2:14-15).

For whatsoever is not of faith is sin. (Romans 14:23)

The Law Of The Spirit Of Life In Christ Jesus gives the Believer victory over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil.

Victory over sin: Romans 8:2
Victory over the world: Galatians 6:14 ; 1 John 5:4
Victory over the flesh: Galatians 5:24
Victory over the Devil: Hebrews 2:14 ; Colossians 2:15

How does a Believer maintain Faith exclusively in Christ and the Cross? By just believing in Jesus (who He is) and what He accomplished at Calvary Cross where the victory was one. Romans 4:5 - Galatians 2:19-21 NKJV - 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 NKJV - Colossians 2:11-15 NKJV
