John 15:13, “No one has greater love than this: that one should lay down his life for his friends.”

Isayah 53
1, "Who has believed our report? And to whom was the arm of יהוה revealed?"2, "For He grew up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or splendor that we should look upon Him, nor appearance that we should desire Him –"3, "despised and rejected by men, a man of pains and knowing sickness. And as one from whom the face is hidden, being despised, and we did not consider Him."4, "Truly, He has borne our sicknesses and carried our pains. Yet we reckoned Him smitten·, stricken by Yah, and afflicted."5, "But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our crookednesses. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed."6, "We all, like sheep, went astray, each one of us has turned to his own way. And יהוה has laid on Him the crookedness of us all."7, "He was oppressed and He was afflicted, but He did not open His mouth. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, but He did not open His mouth."8, "He was taken from prison and from judgment. And as for His generation, who considered that He shall be cut off from the land of the living? For the transgression of My people He was stricken."9, "And He was appointed a burial-site with the wrong, and with the rich at His death, because He had done no violence, nor was deceit in His mouth.10, "But יהוה was pleased to crush Him, He laid sickness on Him, that when He made Himself an offering for guilt, He would see a seed, He would prolong His days and the pleasure of יהוה prosper in His hand."11, "He would see the result of the suffering of His life and be satisfied. Through His knowledge My righteous Servant makes many righteous, and He bears their crookednesses."12, "Therefore I give Him a portion among the great, and He divides the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His being unto death, and He was counted with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."

No greater love... it is heart breaking.. yet through this we are saved.. Gracious and Merciful is Our GOD to be feared.. and then Him cast those fears out and Love is shed abroad..

The romans knew how to kill and make it hurt and crucifixion was considered one of the worst ways to die. Never forget the beating Jesus also took for us.

Psalms 22:12-17
12 Many bulls surround me;
strong bulls of Bashan encircle me.
13 Roaring lions that tear their prey
open their mouths wide against me.
14 I am poured out like water,
and all my bones are out of joint.
My heart has turned to wax;
it has melted within me.
15 My mouth is dried up like a potsherd,
and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth;
you lay me in the dust of death.

16 Dogs surround me,
a pack of villains encircles me;
they pierce my hands and my feet.
17 All my bones are on display;
people stare and gloat over me.

It's crazy how the Romans could be so cruel like that,but that is the way the Bible describes them.

Dan 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
Dan 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

Dan 7:12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

Daniel had a vision of 4 kingdoms,Babylon,Medo-Persia,Greece,and the Roman Empire,which the other 3 were represented by animals,where the Roman Empire was represented by iron,and in Daniel 2,the 4 are represented as metals,with Babylon being gold,but become harder,and less precious in the following kingdoms,silver,brass,iron.

Each kingdom that sprang up was more harder,and crueler,than the one before it,which I do not view it as one ethnic group worse than another,but that is what they learned as time went on,is war,and fighting,and pushing for power,so they became crueler as time went on,and by the time it got to the Roman Empire they were the cruelest of all.

The Roman Empire was different than the other 3 kingdoms,that they were more determined to push for power,and gain control of the world,and the Roman Empire does not lose their dominion until God puts them down,and the ten horns that come from them is the world split in to ten sections with a leader in each section,all Gentile nations,but the dominion is the Roman Empire,and the little horn,the beast comes from the ten horns,and will pluck up three sections by the roots,the Arab nations,the religion of Islam,by nuclear weapons.

Dan 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
Dan 7:24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
Dan 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
Dan 7:26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
Dan 7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

The Romans had the same "leader" as Hitler, Satan. Hitler had many prisoners, especially Jews, tortured terribly. This was ostensibly done to provide their military, information on various situations they would encounter. Google, Hitler's torture of Jews.

what Jesus accomplished at the cross, took a while for that to spread "the good news", today it's well known, what Romans and others did continued for another couple hundred years, probably may not on line with the author of the vid mentioned but it's quite sad the practiced when on as business as usual for many.

Isaiah 52:13 See, my servant will act wisely; he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted. 14 Just as there were many who were appalled at him—his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being and his form marred beyond human likeness.

This from the beatings and hanging on the cross, which He knew He would have to endure from early childhood. Then always He had to live like this: Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.

Enduring pain and humiliation His whole life and ending with a crescendo of both at the end. I am amazed that even His love could overcome the suffering of that pain, humiliation and then the temporary loss of His Father God at the end.

Both Matthew and Mark record this: Matthew 27:45-46 45 From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. 46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”) and Mark 15:33-34 33 At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. 34 And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”)
